Europe’s premier asset allocation event
Many delegates attend the Asset Allocation Summit year after year. It is one of the first dates set in their diaries as not to be missed. Why is that?
INVESTMENT OUTLOOK – FINGER ON THE PULSE
The Asset Allocation Summit has developed an enviable record of selecting investment strategists and other experts to accurately highlight the big picture topics of the next twelve month period. Last year we invited Professor Ed Altman of NYU Stern School of Business, one of the world’s experts on default risk, to warn of the coming problems from a bursting of the credit bubble. David Roche of Independent Strategy warned of a sharp economic contraction ahead, and we commented that “our strategists have a unifying theme – that financial markets are in a liquidity-driven bubble.” This was all written in last year’s conference brochure in the Spring of 2007, providing remarkable prescience of the events to follow. The emerging themes of our 2008 event are more difficult to discern – this time, you’ll have to be there!

This year, we have responded to delegate feedback that a day should be set aside purely to examine the global investment outlook. We have therefore made a clear demarcation between day one of the event, which will cover “investment structures and techniques,” and day two, which covers “investment markets and outlook.” Each day can be booked separately, giving those delegates whose interest lies purely in one area the opportunity to select content which entirely meets their needs.
INVESTMENT STRUCTURES AND TECHNIQUES
This year’s event begins with the theme “investing for a sustainable future,” examining how asset allocation is impacted by climate change, with a keynote speech from Tim Gardener, who as Global Head of Mercer Investment Consulting is one of the world’s most influential investment actuaries. Thereafter, we focus on more day-to-day issues – investment structures and techniques which aid investors in the search for persistent alpha, the efficient capture of beta, and the control of risk. The event features some of Europe’s top investment strategists, pension funds and investment consultants;
