Robbert Coomans is advisor to the board of APG Investments, the investments division of the Dutch Civil Servants Pension Fund, with assets under management in excess of Euro 216 billion by the end of 2007. Robbert joined APG Investments in 1996 and has been involved in Alternative Investments since the start in 2000, including private equity and infrastructure. Prior to APG Investments, he spent 13 years in the Middle East, United Arab Emirates, from 1983 till 1992 with Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and from 1992 till 1996 with Abu Dhabi Investment Company as Head of Asset Management.

Peter is a founding partner and the CEO of Alpha Associates AG, a Zurich based private equity fund-of-funds manager and adviser. Peter studied law in Switzerland and the United States. The culmination of his legal career was the position of General Counsel of Credit Suisse Group. Subsequently, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer and head of the corporate center of Credit Suisse Private Banking. Peter serves on the board of directors of a number of listed and private companies, among them Bank Sarasin & Co Ltd.

Beatrice has been working with the pension fund since 1996. As Deputy Managing Director she is mainly responsible for the technical and commercial management of the Pension fund as well as preparing submissions to the Board of Trustees for discussion and consideration in their strategic decisions. Due to her strong background in asset management and finance, she was responsible for building and implementing a private equity portfolio. Prior to this, she was an investment adviser to institutional investors at Credit Suisse. Beatrice holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Zurich.

Uwe is responsible for advising both institutional and corporate clients on their investment strategies and asset allocations in private equity. As consultant to Bayerische Versorgungskammer, Germany’s largest pension fund, he is in an excellent position to give a rare insight into their rationale for investing into private equity, and the methods they have chosen to implement their strategy. Uwe Fleischhauer Uwe Fleischhauer, born in 1964, is Managing Partner of the private equity advisory and consulting firm Fleischhauer, Hoyer & Partner - FHP Private Equity Consultants – based in Munich (Germany). Since it’s founding in 1996, FHP (www.fhpe.de) has been processing exclusively advisory and consulting projects around the asset class private equity. Moreover, FHP is one of Germany’s most respected independent research bodies and publishes on a regular basis market surveys and studies on current topics in private equity. At FHP, Uwe Fleischhauer advises especially institutional and corporate clients on their investment strategy and asset allocation in private equity. For evaluating potential target funds or private equity manager (fund of funds as well as single funds) within the scope of the “manager selection” and due diligence process, FHP has developed a customized “scoring model”. Beforehand, Uwe Fleischhauer was more than seven years a management consultant / project leader at international consulting firms Arthur D.Little and Mercer Management Consulting. He graduated in Business Administration from Bremen, University. This was followed by a postgraduate year (Diploma) in “European Enterprise Management” at Dorset Business School in Bournemouth (England) and University of Barcelona (Spain).

Stephen A. Haswell is Managing Director Continental Europe for MFS’ Institutional Business. Stephen joined MFS in 1994 as a Portfolio Coordinator and was promoted to Investment Communications Specialist in 1995. In 1999, Mr Haswell was promoted to Vice President of MFS International (U.K) Ltd. to develop distribution across Northern Europe and became a Senior Divisional Vice President in 2003 to head MFS’ institutional and retail business in Continental Europe. Prior to joining MFS, Stephen worked for two years in the Corporate Finance Group for Siemens AG in Munich; and the Securities division of Northwestern Mutual Life. He earned his bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and a master’s in business administration from the Olin School of Management, Babson College in Boston.

Claus Hecher is Head of Sales and Marketing for Barclays Global Investors (Deutschland) AG, based in Munich. In this role, he is responsible for iShares sales in Germany and Austria. Mr Hecher joined BGI in 2008 and has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Until 2003 he worked for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt, Zurich and London, holding various senior roles. After spending two years as Head of Sales for Bear Stearns in London, he joined French investment bank Natixis in May 2006 as Head of Sales Equity Derivatives Solutions for Germany, Austria and Eastern Europe.

Adrian has overall responsibility for investment philosophy and process for equities and fixed income. Adrian chairs the Asset Allocation Committee, responsible for establishing the asset mix of Aviva Investors balanced fund mandates and is ultimately responsible for monitoring performance and risk control measures across portfolios. Adrian joined the firm (as Norwich Union Investment Management Ltd (NUIM)) in 2000 as Senior Quantitative Analyst with responsibility for developing NUIM’s quantitative research capabilities. He has held the position of Head of Strategy, responsible investment strategy, quantitative research and quant funds leading the team of economists, strategy and index fund managers and derivatives specialists since February 2000. Prior to joining NUIM Adrian spent three years at NPI Asset Management, during which time he was promoted from Director of Strategy & Quantitative Analysis to Head of Global Asset Allocation. Previously he gained extensive investment experience at CIN Management as Assistant Director of Global Asset Allocation and Shell International as Senior Quantitative Analyst. Adrian holds a BSc and MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics, and studied Investment Management at the London Business School.

Dr Thomas Jasper joined Rauser Towers Perrin in the beginning of 2002. In addition to supporting corporate clients concerning company pension schemes, he also takes responsibility for "Investment Consulting" and "Pension Risk Management". He is heading Rauser Towers Perrin Retirement activities based in Frankfurt and is a member of the German Management Teamof Towers Perrin. He has more than 10 years' experience in financial strategy consulting, capital market orientated compensation models and in desining company pension schemes. His main clients are international corporates and well-known medium-sized enterprises. His focus and expertise lie in the strategic integration of company pension schemes, corporate financing and international capital markets. Dr Thomas Jasper studied at the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tubingen where he also did his doctorate in the Department of Corporate Taxation and Accounting.

Dr Marcel Jeucken is Head of Responsible Investment at PGGM Investments. PGGM Investments is the fiduciary manager for Pensioefonds Zorg en Welzijn, the second largest pension fund in The Netherlands and Europe and has approximately 88 billion euro under management. The Responsible Investment team has a central role in the implementation of PGGM’s responsible investment policy along all asset classes. These activities include ESG integration in internal and external mandates, thematic investments in ESG, voting, engagement, exclusions, and shareholder litigation. The ten years before joining PGGM Marcel was employed as Managing Director at Dutch Sustainability Research, Sales and Marketing Director at SiRi Company, and senior economist at Rabobank Group. Marcel holds a Ph.D. in economics and published his dissertation on sustainability and finance in 2004. He has written numerous papers and is author or editor of several books, including ‘Sustainable Finance and Banking’ (2001) and ‘Sustainability in Finance’ (2004).

Dick Kamp is manager pension affairs at Super de Boer supermarkets and director of the SDB Pension Fund (the former Laurus Pension Fund) in Beilen, Netherlands. The SDB Pension Fund is the enterprise pension fund of the dutch retailer Super de Boer. Dick is responsible for all pension affairs for both Super de Boer as the SDB Pension Fund. He has been at Super de Boer since 2003. Responsible for pension affairs, he has directed the improvement of the back office processes and member communication. Furthermore he has lead the development of the new pension scheme, the new investment policy and improved governance processes. Dick has been involved with pensions for over 15 years.

Herwig is head of Mercers investment consulting business in Germany. He advises clients on a wide range of investment issues, including investment strategy, risk management and manager selection. Herwig has more than ten years of experience within the investment industry. Prior to joining Mercer, he was the head of the asset consulting services for Germany at Towers Perrin. Previously, he has worked in various roles in risk management and investment banking for Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt. Herwig has a degree in mathematics and economics from Ulm, Germany.

Torsten Köpke heads the Investment Practice of Watson Wyatt in Germany. He is responsible for all investment consulting services to corporates, insurance companies, banks, pension funds, governmental bodies and other institutional clients in Germany and Austria. He has extensive experience in the areas of strategy and allocation (asset liability studies), implementation and monitoring including: • Identifying company specific needs and goals • Developing complex simulation software • Recommending appropriate investment strategy (asset classes, regional asset allocation, in-house/external investment arrangements, active and passive asset management and style diversification) • Selecting of external asset managers, KAGs and custodians • Monitoring investment results • Advising necessary changes with external providers in a proactive way Dr. Köpke joined Watson Wyatt from Feri Institutional Management where he established and headed its Investment Consulting team for seven years. Prior to working at Feri he held a position in asset management at Allianz Leben, having started there in 1994.

Hans Wilhelm is Managing Director and responsible for all aspects of the scheme. He plays a pivotal role in the allocation of the 1,1 billion scheme for chartered accountants. The scheme currently allocates a bit more than 60 % of its assets in direct investments including Bonds and Schuldscheine, about 8 % in equities, 6 % in convertibles and 17 % in real estate funds.

Bart has over 14 years of experience in banking and asset management. He is working in RBS’ Pension & Insurance Solutions Group and joined RBS in 2005. Prior to RBS he was at BNP Paribas, where he spearheaded the pension advisory effort in the Netherlands. Before that he worked for 4 years as Head of Asset Management and fund manager of the Structured Finance Fund with NIB Capital Asset Management, the independent asset management company owned by ABP and PGGM. Initially he worked for 6 years with the Dutch investment bank MeesPierson. Bart holds a university degree in Econometrics from the Erasmus University of Rotterdam.

Dirk Lepelmeier (56) managing director of the Nordrheinische Ärzteversorgung (NAEV) is responsible for the capital investments of this medical professional association (with total assets of approx. 8,5 billion Euros at the end of December 2007). Born in Bünde Westphalia, he studied economics at Münster University as well as Innsbruck and wrote his PhD in “ The effect of income redistribution on the German Social Insurance Systems.” Then followed 20 years work at the Dresdner Bank Group working in Germany and abroad including a post graduate program at the Harvard Business School in Boston. 1998 Dirk Lepelmeier took his chair as Professor at the University for Applied Sciences Westküste in Heide/ Holstein. His subject was “ Financial Services Management”. After retiring from University, he took his present position as managing director for capital investments at the NAEV in Düsseldorf. Parallel to this Prof. Dr. Dirk Lepelmeier lectures at the University for Applied Sciences Osnabrück, with his specialities being “Financing Social Protection Systems” and “ Asset Management”.

Arthur Rakowski is an Executive Director of Macquarie Capital Funds, the world's largest financial investor in infrastructure, with more than €30bn of equity invested through 30 funds in more than 100 infrastructure businesses around the world. Arthur has been at Macquarie for 15 years and he sits on the investment committee of Macquarie's European Infrastructure Funds 1, 2 and 3 which have so far raised more than €7bn of equity and made significant investments in a diverse range of European assets, including Thames Water, APRR, Brussels Airport, National Grid Wireless and Arlanda Express. He is a member of the Society of Investment Professionals in Germany (DVFA) and a DVFA Certified Financial Analyst. Before joining Aon he was a portfolio manager for private and institutional asset management at a German bank.

Roland has been working more than 10 years in the financial service and consulting industries. After starting his career at a major bank in Germany he studied Business Information Systems at the University of Bamberg, from where he received a diploma and a doctorate in Economics. Then he worked 7 years as a management consultant – self employed and at Arthur D. Little, International. In 2004 Roland joined the ERGO Insurance Group as a Director and Head of Insurance and Pension Solutions Corporate Clients. Since 2005 he is also a member of the Advisory Board of the International Group Program (IGP), the world’s largest insurer network for employee benefits solutions. Since 2006 he has been a Member of the Management Board of ERGO Pensionsfonds AG, Hamburg-Mannheimer Pensionskasse AG and Victoria Pensionskasse AG, where he is responsible for Client Advisory, Product Management and Asset Management.

Volker Schmidt Lafleur leads the management of the supply work of the tax counsels in North Rhine-Westphalia, the national legal obligation supply installation of the profession with at present approx. 8,000 members. Volker Schmidt Lafleur developed the administration in 1998 of the created supply work and transferred beyond that in the year 2000 the structure of the administration of the supply work of the tax counsels to Rhineland-Palatinate, 2002 of the supply work of the tax counsels in Hessen and 2004 of the supply work of the Psychotherapeutenkammer North Rhine-Westphalia, whose administrations were taken over management of affairs contracts. Altogether the office cares for at present approx. 12,000 members. As well as being responsible for the general line of business, Volker Schmidt Lafleur is also responsible for questions of the investment of the supply works with a volume from at present approx. 600 millions EUR. Since 1999 the supply work will advise in questions of the investment strategy and the Risikocontrollings of a Consulting enterprise and pursues a safety-oriented and risk-set investment strategy. Volker Schmidt Lafleur is at present a member of the European committee as well as the working group EDP of the ABV and further member of the representative meeting of the supply work of the attorneys in North Rhine-Westphalia, the statute-giving organ of this supply work.

Stefan has been Director General of the federal federation – BVI investment and asset management since 2002. Previous to his position at BVI he was employed on the German stock exchange AG and was Head of Market Policy for political communication in the national and international sphere. Stefan will be giving the opening address detailing developments and perspectives in asset management that will affect pension funds.

Bernhard is the chairman of the board of the enterprise pension fund of the Bosch group, the Bosch Pensionsfonds, and is a board member of the study group for operational old age pension (aba).
