His experience also includes the presidency of a an airline and the presidency of a research organization. Dr. Nawal has served on the faculty at the Ohio State University and the MIT. He has advised civil aviation authorities in public policy areas and authored four books.

Mr. Al Muhairi graduated as a civil engineer from UAE and earned a master’s degree in engineering from Portland State University, USA. Prior to being appointed as Director General of Al Ain Economic Development & Tourism Promotion Authority he worked in realestate investment with the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, ADIA. Mr. Al Muhairi was appointed Director General of the Abu Dhabi
Tourism Authority, ADTA on its creation in September 2004 and has wide ranging responsibilities for the promotion and development
of the emirate’s tourism sector. He was born in the United Arab Emirates in 1970.

He began his career at GE Aircraft Engines (GEAE) and spent 12 years in key financial management positions.
In 2007 Johnson was named International Executive of the Year by Miami University and The Farmer School of Business. He is a graduate of Miami University.
