        Kim Bush, President, Vaccines SBU, Baxter Vaccines
 
Kim Bush joined Baxter International in 1978 and currently holds the position of President, Baxter BioScience, Vaccines Division. He and his team are responsible for the commercial management of Baxter’s vaccine business on a global basis. Prior to holding this position, Kim held several Baxter senior management positions including, President, Hyland Immuno Europe, President, Biotech Europe and President of Baxter’s Fenwal Division. Prior to the spin-off of Allegiance from Baxter, Kim also served as President for both the Industrial and Life Sciences Division and the Biomedical Division of Allegiance Healthcare Corporation.
 
Dr Lance Gordon, President and Chief Executive Officer, VaxGen, Inc.
 
Dr Gordon has 25 years of experience in industry, developing both vaccine products and companies.  Prior to joining VaxGen, Dr Gordon served as CEO and a member of the Board of Directors of two vaccine companies, OraVax (now Acambis, Inc.) and North American Vaccines (now Baxter BioScience).  At OraVax, Dr Gordon secured a contract to develop, manufacture, store, and manage a stockpile of smallpox vaccine for the Centers for Disease Control.  Dr Gordon was also recently appointed to the National Vaccine Advisory Committee (NVAC). NVAC advises and makes recommendations to the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) on issues related to preventing infectious diseases through immunisation.
 
Clement Lewin, Vice President US Government Affairs and Strategy, Acambis
 
Clement Lewin joined Acambis in March 2005. He is responsible for co-ordinating US government affairs activities and supporting strategic planning. He has 10 years of industry experience in infectious diseases and vaccines.
 
 
Dr Una Ryan, President and Chief Executive Officer, AVANT Immunotherapeutics
 
Dr Ryan is President and Chief Executive Officer of AVANT Immunotherapeutics, Inc. She is also Research Professor of Medicine at the Whitaker Cardiovascular Institute of Boston University School of Medicine, serves on the Whitehead Institute Board of Associates and is Chair of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council. 
 
Dr Daniel Tusé, Vice President, Business Development, Large Scale Biology Corporation
 
Daniel Tusé is responsible for business development functions and for helping co-ordinate strategic planning and product development programmes.  Before joining LSBC, he was Assistant Director of the Life Sciences Division at SRI International.  Prior to that, he held a number of research management positions.
 
Jacques-François Martin, President, Parteurop
 
Jacques-François Martin has spent the essence of his career in the pharmaceutical, biological and life sciences industries. Martin set up Parteurop S.A, as Chairman and CEO, he helps establish start-up companies by leveraging innovation from French and foreign institutions. From 2000 to January 2005, Martin held the position of President of The Vaccine Fund (now the GAVI Fund).
 
 
Michel Greco, Independent Vaccine Expert, former President Aventis Pasteur
 
Michel Greco has over 17 years experience in the pharmaceutical and vaccines field. He has worked in many capacities over the years i.e. CEO Pasteur Mérieux MSD and President and COO, then Deputy CEO and member of the Board of Aventis Pasteur. He has served as President of the European Vaccine Manufacturers Association and Chairman of the Biological Committee of IFPMA and member of SAGE, advising WHO on Immunisation policy.
 
Dr Ronald Ellis, Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer, NasVax Inc USA
 
Ronald W. Ellis joined NasVax Inc in USA (a subsidiary of NasVax Ltd, Ness Ziona, Israel) in 2007 as Senior Vice President and Chief Technical Officer.  He had spent 14 years at Merck Research Laboratories, where he became responsible for preclinical vaccine research and was cochairman of intercompany collaborations in developing pediatric combination vaccines.  He joined Astra in 1996 and directed their vaccine program.  He then joined BioChem Pharma in 1998 to set up a Boston-area vaccine development subsidiary, and continued as Senior Vice President Development through purchases by Shire Pharmaceuticals and ID Biomedical.  He then served as Senior Vice President R&D at AVANT Immunotherapeutics.  Dr. Ellis has championed or led R&D efforts on a wide range of viral and bacterial vaccines from discovery or in-licensure through development and to product licensure and launch.  These include several licensed vaccines -- those for human papilloma virus, rotavirus, varicella, hepatitis B, and Haemophilus influenzae type b.  He is (co)author of over 100 publications and 35 review articles mostly in the field of vaccines, and is editor/coeditor of 7 books on vaccines.  He has made over 100 invited presentations, chaired many sessions at international scientific conferences and venues, and served on international committees for vaccine R&D.  He is Editor-in-Chief of the peer-reviewed indexed journal Human Vaccines (http://www.landesbioscience.com/journals/vaccines), launched in 2005.
