The concept
An exciting new conference which brings solar power to South East Asia!
Solar technology already boasts a century of R&D, requires no carbon based fuel and has a energy source that is both inexhaustible and available to almost everyone.
With the recent rapid technology developments and increasing government and investment support, solar energy is capable of becoming directly competitive with conventional technologies. It is particular relevant to communities that are disconnected from the energy grid and who lack the resources to employ traditional power solutions. It is also relevant to the residential home market which can employ small solar installations to reduce their electricity bill.
Solar Power Asia 2007 aims to build up local capability in solar technologies, increase appreciation of benefits of solar energy from the perspective of finance and investment, and encourage implementation of solar energy projects in Singapore on the part of utilities, big energy users and within new energy efficient building architecture. It will be the first international event of its kind in South East Asia and one of the few shows on this topic that is designed with end users in mind.
China is set to spend $200bn on renewable energy over the next 15 years, and industry players are racing to grab a slice of the action. Beijing wants a tenth of its energy to come from environmentally friendly sources by 2010 – a desire driven by soaring air pollution and chronic environmental degradation that is swelling medical bills and provoking discontent. - Reuters, 15 July 2006 |
This conference highlights advancements in technology development, and gives guidance on issues including component selection, design, application, maintenance, and grid-connection. The key learning takeaway is that participants will be able to understand the technical and economic aspects of photovoltaics technology, and apply the principles learnt to make photovoltaics projects more innovative or cost-effective.
This event will be equally relevant to solar and traditional energy specialists, end users like green building architects, and alternative energy finance and investment specialists. And don’t forget that this event is one of 6 clean energy conferences hosted by Terrapinn taking place at the same time and venue. You will meet over 1000 specialists including regulators, project owners, and investors within in a setting designed for easy business networking and deal making!
