Stephan Dertnig is the head of financial services and consumer goods operations in CIS and an active member of BCG worldwide Financial Services practice. He has performed a wide range of strategy, due diligence, post-merger integration, and efficiency improvement programs for leading companies in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine, working across consumer oriented businesses in telecommunications, banking and consumer goods. Stephan Dertnig has also worked for the Kazakh Government on supporting the Regional Financial Center in Almaty.

Mr. Dertnig joined BCG’s Munich office in 1990 and later moved to open up our Vienna office in 1997 before relocating to Moscow in 2002. As the leader of BCG Russia, he has taken the Moscow office onto a steep growth path and played a crucial role in the founding of the newly opened Kiev office.

Before starting his consulting career, Mr. Dertnig worked with a leading engineering company in Vienna. He studied mechanical engineering at Technical University Vienna and holds an MBA from INSEAD

Selim H. Elgen is a Managing Director of The Citigroup Private Bank in Europe, responsible for the CPB’s activities in Central and Eastern Europe, including Russia. He first joined Citigroup as a Management Associate in 1995 and completed Citigroup’s graduate programme by 1996. Subsequently, Selim joined the Emerging Markets department of the CPB with a primary focus on Central and Eastern European markets.

The Emerging Europe team has been growing under his leadership since 2005, when he was promoted to Head of the Central and Eastern Europe region.

Mr. Elgen is a proponent of a unique approach to private banking based on the concept of private investment banking and an entrepreneurial outlook to the future of wealth management. He has been a distinguished guest speaker at leading finance, capital markets and private wealth management events, including conferences of the Adam Smith Institute, the Russian Economic Forum and others.

Mr. Elgen graduated from the London School of Economics in 1994 with a BS in Management. A dual British/Turkish citizen, he is married with 1 child.





Rolf Frehner,

Originally educated in Mathematics at the Swiss Fedral Institute of Technology he joined Credit Suisse in 1985. There he first worked for the Controlling and Accounting Departement, where he developed a new model the managment information system on a detailed base and introduced this concept within the company. Later he was responsable for the integaration of the Swiss Volksbank, a bank, which was in trouble and beeing bought by Credit Suisse. For the next five years Mr Frehner was Head of the Treasury and Finance division, rank of Managing Director, responsable for achieving sustainable trading contribution to the bank`s ROE target. His latest job within Credit Suisse Group was at Winterthur Insurance, a Credit Suisse company, where he was responsable for managing all assets of Winterthur Group abroad as Head Asset Management International. He was member of the Board of several Winterthur subsidiaries abroad Switzerland as well as Chairman of the Board of WIMCO (Winterthur Investment Company, New York).
In 2005, Rolf moved to Liechtensteinische Landesbank, located in Vaduz, where he took responsibility fort he newly created department „Private Banking CEE“.

Harald Friedrich joined Sal. Oppenheim Austria in February 2001 and took reponsibility for the bank´s Private Banking department. In Private Banking Sal. Four years later he joined BIS Banking Systems (BIS), where he built its European business and implementation consultancy team. Focussing on Treasury Management, Capital Market, Portfolio Management and MIS related projects, Michel's team first covered Continental Europe and later expanded to encompass the UK.

Michel left BIS (now Misys) in 1995 to join Odyssey as a co-founder. After an initial focus on the Benelux countries he successfully managed the development of Odyssey’s activities in Germany and Austria. Since January 2007 he is in charge of the Central and Eastern Europe region with the aim to establish Odyssey as the leading asset and wealth management platform supplier to this fast developing part of the world.

Mr. Gabor Kacsoh is member of the Executive Committee of Experta Luxembourg, a leading service company for the incorporation and management of corporate and investment structures in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. He spent nearly a decade focusing on business development with special attention to the geographic region of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as the management of business relationships with institutional clients, particularly in terms of structuring real estate and venture capital investments. Mr. Kacsoh began his career at Dexia Banque Internationale à Luxembourg working in the International Structuring Unit of the Business Line Corporate Engineering.

He graduated from Institut Catholique des Hautes Ecoles Commerciales in Brussels with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Finance and holds a Master of Law (LLM) degree specializing in international tax law from Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration. Petteri Karttunen,

Petteri Karttunen, b. 16.06.1960, has worked within Gyllenberg and asset management since 1988. He started as a portfolio manager, later senior portfolio manager, and was appointed CEO in 1999 in connection with SEB’s acquisition of the company.

Besides his responsibilities as CEO of SEB Gyllenberg Petteri Karttunen has also been responsible for SEB Wealth Management in Finland since 1999. Since 2001 he has been a member of the divisional management group for SEB Asset Management acting as Head of Global Product Management 2003-2005 and from 2005 onwards he is Head of WM Eastern Europe.

Petteri Karttunen will assume a new position in September this year when he will become Country Manager in Finland for SEB.

Mr. Kotchoubey was a member of ML’s Global Research and Management’s Investment Strategy Group. Previously, Mr. Kotchoubey was a Director at Medley Global Advisors (founded by George Soros’s ex-Quantum Fund partner Richard Medley) where he led the launch of MGA’s equity product offerings. Mr. Kotchoubey began his career at Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH) in New York and spent nearly a decade at America’s oldest and largest Private Bank. He graduated from Middlebury College with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Russian and East European Area Studies. He studied briefly at Moscow State University and is fluent in Russian and French and conversant in Spanish.

Bruce is a Chartered Accountant with experience gained from over 25 years in London and 3 years in Southern Africa. He has also performed a wide range of acquisition and disposal reviews for private banks and wealth managers in the UK, the offshore centres and overseas.

Christof T. Zellenberg has been with DB since 1999.
