Ringo Chan,

Based at Turner’s Asia-Pacific regional headquarters in Hong Kong, Mr. Chan is responsible for overseeing the strategic development and operations of the mobile business in the region. Additionally, Mr. Chan also oversees the distribution of CNN International, Cartoon Network and TCM in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan as well as managing government affairs and affiliate relations in the territories.

Before assuming his current position, Mr. Chan served as General Manager of China Entertainment Television Broadcast Limited (CETV) when Time Warner acquired the satellite television network in 2000. He oversaw the channel operations, strategic planning and played a pivotal role in the ground breaking cable carriage partnership formed between Time Warner and Chinese government.

Mr. Chan started his career at Turner in 1995 as Marketing Manager with responsibility for trade and consumer marketing for CNN International and TNT & Cartoon Network in Asia Pacific region. In 1997, he was promoted to Associate Director, Network Distribution and Marketing, and then Director of Network Distribution and Affiliate Relations in 1998. A year later, he was named Vice President of Network Distribution.

Prior to joining Turner, Mr. Chan has been working in different broadcast media in the greater China region. Mr. Chan holds an MBA and a master’s degree in telecommunications from Michigan State University in the United States.


Garth Collier,

Garth Collier is Vice President Asia Pacific – WiMAX with Intel Corporation, tasked to drive the regional ramp of mobile WiMAX networks and services.

Previous to Intel, Garth was 5 years with PCCW where most recently he was Executive Director of UK Broadband leading the start-up of one of the first non line of sight broadband wireless services. Other roles with PCCW included Director of Corporate Strategy, Director of Investor Relations/Corporate Finance and Vice President of Strategic Planning.

Prior to PCCW, Garth held senior roles with Cable & Wireless Hong Kong Telecom and Telstra.

Garth has a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from the University of Queensland and a MBA from The Australian Graduate School of Management.

Bosco Fernandes,

BOSCO EDUARDO FERNANDES has held various managerial and engineering positions in R&D of Circuit and Packet switching systems at Siemens AG. He served as a responsible Manager for a number of GSM projects. He switched on the first GSM Network in the World and the first GSM Network out side of Europe. He was former chair of the Mobile and Personal communications Domain of the European Research Programme for three years and was the mandated chairman of the UMTS Task Force that preceded the creation of the UMTS Forum. Mr. Fernandes was awarded the UMTS Chairman’s Award 2000. He now chairs the Information Communications Technologies (ICT) [IT media] working group and the Manufacturers Sector group in the Forum.

Mr. Fernandes is a member of the Technical Directorate of the IPv6 Forum and supports the close co-operation between the IPv6 Forum and UMTS Forum ICTG. He chaired the Mobile Wireless working group in the recent EC IPv6 Task Force Phase I and Phase II. He is now heading the EC IPv6 Task Force.

Mr. Fernandes received a degree of Dipl. Ing. in Electronic engineering in Munich, Germany and holds an Executive MBA. He is a senior member of the IEEE communications society and a member of the International Telecommunications Academy of Russia (ITA). Within Siemens he is currently responsible for the Governmental and industry Affairs.


Pawan Gandhi,

Pawan is Head of Watch New Experiences, which is part of Nokia’s Multimedia Experiences team in the Asia Pacific region. Pawan and his team are responsible for driving the Mobile TV and video experiences in the region, including Nokia’s DVB-H portfolio of solutions with offerings that include the sales & deployment of end-to-end solutions for television broadcasters and mobile operators, and stimulating and steering the Mobile TV ecosystem - ensuring that the broadcast industry players, regulators, the content community and mobile manufacturers work closely with one another.

Pawan has a rich and diverse experience of over 12 years in the field of Broadcasting and Communication. After completing his Masters in Business Administration, Pawan led an entrepreneurial venture in the field of media, content and broadcasting for 5 years before joining WorldSpace, an American satellite audio broadcasting (S-DAB) company, where he worked from 1999-2005.

One of his key achievements was to set up a satellite based disaster management broadcasting network within a few hours of the 2004 tsunami in co-ordination with the Tamil Nadu Government. He also pioneered the setting up of a near LIVE satellite broadcasting system for Press Trust of India. Personally, he has also been involved in setting up various models of distance education systems, working very closely with All India Radio, Doordarshan, Defense Forces, Department of Science and Technology and several other Government departments in India.

Pawan has also been a member of several societies in India like Broadcast Engineering Society (BES - life member) and FICCI where he represented the digital broadcasting industry. He has also been a member of several 'in-camera' sessions conveyed by different Indian ministries, especially in the field of broadcasting, communication, distance education and disaster warning.

Pawan has Masters Degree in Business Administration and was a rank holder in his Bachelors Degree.


Prashant Gokarn,

Prashant Gokarn is an experienced senior manager with over 10 years strategy and process consulting experience. He is a telecoms specialist (mobile and fixed) and advises clients on customer and revenue growth strategies, technology evolution, regulatory environment and performance improvement.
Recent mobile sector projects include developing a mobile data strategy for a large content player, advising an Asian operator on its technology roadmap, evaluating the need for an integrated services platform and business planning for a national emergency communications network. He has also advised operators in Ireland, Singapore and Malaysia on preparing 3G business strategies and licence bids.

On the fixed side, Prashant has recently advised an Asian regulator on next generation network and IP telephony regulation, advised a leading global IP telephony provider on marketing and pricing strategy, a leading European telco on wholesale broadband strategy, advised a leading global telco on maximising revenue-side synergies between mobile and fixed operations, assisted the incumbent in Brazil on launching their ISP business and suggested the technical and operating structures for the UK school broadband network. He has assisted the FA Premier League on establishing its archive and managing its television broadcast operations.

Prashant has an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and is an electronics engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He joined Spectrum from Accenture in 2000.


Adam Good,

Adam is based in Hong Kong and is responsible for Tribal DDB in Asia Pacific with particular focus on China. Tribal DDB Asia Pacific clients include Dell, Unilever, McDonald's, Philips, HSBC, Volkswagen and Microsoft.

Adam was one of the original members of Tribal DDB Worldwide. Adam opened the Australia operation in December 1999 and left in December 2005. Tribal DDB Sydney and Melbourne offices are two are the most awarded interactive agencies in Australia having won both the 2005 AdNews and B&T Interactive Agency of the Year titles.

Adam has ten years experience with the interactive community and has key note speaking assignments in Australia, Singapore, China and Japan.

Previously, as an Executive Producer at News Interactive, Adam oversaw all of News Limited's (Australia's newspaper division of Newscorp) online projects from concept to final product. This included Australia's premier sports site afl.com.au, and Australia's leading national news and information service news.com.au.

Prior to News Limited, Adam was a Senior Producer at Microsoft Australia, where he was contracted to move MSN from the x.25 network to a web based network producing a wide range of entertainment and information based content (now known as Ninemsn, Australia largest portal). Adam also established an Internet development company, Australian Cyberfilm in 1994, which specialised in the Australian film and television industry.

Prior to joining the Interactive industry Adam spent six years in the Australian film and television industry working across film, television, music videos and advertising. Adam lives in Sai Kung in Hong Kong with his wife Janelle and three children Braedon, Edina and Callum.

Craig Harvey,

Through his earlier career with Motorola, Nortel, and other global companies where he first develop his career in the telecommunications industry, Terence has gained extensive experience in engineering, sales, marketing, global product line management, and business development areas. He has also gained extensive regional experience through assignments in Singapore, Hong Kong, and China.

Terence holds a Master of Marketing Management Degree from the Macquarie University of Australia and a Bachelor of Engineering Degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.


Juha Lipiainen,

Juha Lipiäinen is the Head of System Marketing & Offering Management for Mobile Video & TV, part of Nokia’s Multimedia Business Group.

Lipiäinen has twenty years experience in telecommunications in various business management positions in Nokia and with network operator Telecom Finland (Sonera). Lipiäinen has been in charge of business operations, marketing and R&D activities during his career in Nokia and Telecom Finland.

In the areas of international standardization and collaboration initiatives, Lipiäinen was instrumental in establishing the CO-OP Forum for developing common functionalities for OSS between major telecommunication equipment manufactures such as: Alcatel, Ericsson, Huawei, Lucant, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Nortel and Siemens. Currently Lipiäinen is a member of the the Mobile DTV Alliance an initiative that promotes DVB-H based mobile TV in the United States.

Lipiäinen has been the chairman of CO-OP Council and served as the Nokia representative for OSS through Java Initiative.

Lipiäinen earned a Master of Science in Geodesy and Cartography from the Helsinki University of Technology. He also participated in executive level management programs at the International Institute for Management Development in Switzerland (IMD).


Colin Miles,

Colin is EVP and co-founder of i-POP Networks where he has spent the past several years evangelising the marketing power and revenue-generating potential of mobile services.

Through Colin’s efforts in spearheading mobile marketing within Asia, he has struck strategic partnerships and business alliances with many blue-chip and media accounts such as ESPN STAR Sports, MTV Asia, CNBC, STAR TV, FremantleMedia, Sony Pictures’ AXN Asia and Animax Asia as well as Nokia.

Colin also plays a key role in the creation and execution of many pioneering interactive mobile projects in Asia, particularly where SMS, MMS and rich media content are used to engage, interact and build relationships with audiences through the use of mobile phones. His most recent projects include the launch of Mobile ESPN Asia via Bridge Mobile Alliance and the development of a strong WAP presence for AXN Asia.

Prior to i-POP, Colin worked in the field of Enterprise software & services development for a leading e-Commerce applications provider.

Colin holds an Honours degree in Publishing & English from Oxford Brookes University. His expertise in the media, e-commerce and mobile arena has spanned across Asia in the last 12 years.

Colin has had two White Papers published for Broadcast Asia. He is also a regular conference speaker and participant in MobileMonday in Singapore.


Neil Montefiore,

Neil Montefiore was appointed Chief Executive Officer of MobileOne Ltd (M1) Singapore effective from 1 April, 1996. Prior to his current appointment, he was the Director of Mobile Services at Hongkong Telecom CSL Limited, the largest cellular operator in Hong Kong.

A chartered engineer, Mr Montefiore joined The Cable and Wireless group in 1976 and held various marketing and engineering management positions in Hong Kong, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom until 1983. In 1983 he joined Cable and Wireless Systems Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cable and Wireless plc specializing in telecommunication products, projects and services in Hong Kong and the Far East region and was appointed as Chief Executive in 1987.

In 1989, he moved to UK as Managing Director of Paknet Ltd, a joint venture owned by Cable and Wireless PLC and Vodafone PLC which developed and launched the world’s first public packet radio data network. Mr Montefiore returned to Hong Kong in 1991 as Managing Director of Chevalier (Telepoint) Ltd until 1995.

He is a Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM).

Mr Montefiore is a recipient of the Asian Business Leaders’ “Innovator of the Year” Award 2002 presented by CNBC Asia Pacific and TNT Asia. The Award recognises the achievements of Chief Executives who play a leadership role in new product development and ground-breaking processes, business models and strategies. He was also named “Outstanding CEO of the Year” for 2002 by the Singapore Business Awards committee.

In 2003, M1 won awards for “Best Regional Mobile Operator” and “Best Brand” at the World Communication Awards, the premier global awards event for the communications industry. M1 went on to win the “Best Broadcast Commercial” at the prestigious GSM Association Awards in Cannes in 2005.

Under Mr Montefiore’s leadership, M1 has achieved spectacular growth, with 31% market share and profitability within 21 months of commencing operations. M1 has around 1,500 staff and more than one million customers.

In December 2002, Mr Montefiore led M1 to a successful and high profile listing on the Singapore Exchange. The M1 IPO (Initial Public Offering) was very well received by international institutional investors as well as public investors in Singapore, with the public tranche 4.9 times subscribed. Offering 600.5 million shares to investors, the M1 IPO was the largest offering in Singapore in three years and the third largest of all time.


Francesco Pugliese,

Francesco Pugliese is the Director of Marketing for DVB-H Mobile Television at H3G in Italy. His has complete control over the operation and development of the Mobile TV Platform.

Francesco’s team take responsibility for broadcasting solutions and architecture, interactivity and integration with Telco services. The use of the TV to monitor the users preferences, and maximise revenues, focussing on content of interest to the customer base, and evolving new business models for this new area of services.

Francesco Pugliese was born in Vasto (italy) on the 5th June 1964, and graduated in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” with first class honours.
He began work in 1992 with the Research and Development Department of SIP (today Telecom Italia).

Francesco has held the positions of Marketing Manager for Business Services at Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), and Manager of IP Network Structures, Frame Relay and ATM at the Mobile operator WIND.

After joining H3G, Francesco held the posts of Manager, Business Product Development and Machine to Machine Products, before being promoted to Director of Marketing for Mobile TV.


Sean Rach,

Since joining Ogilvy in 2000 to initially lead the company’s interactive business, Sean has led teams for clients such as American Express, Nokia Mobile Phones, and Hong Kong Disneyland. He currently leads Hong Kong’s largest and most awarded direct, interactive and customer management marketing agency.

Prior to joining Ogilvy, Sean held several positions with Sprint Communications Company in the United States. Sean started his marketing career at Hallmark Cards, Inc. where he gained experience in retail sales and category management before becoming responsible for all online media, partnerships and public relations for Hallmark.com.

A former naval officer, Sean served aboard two ships during his five years of service. Sean is active in the Hong Kong marketing community serving as Chairman of the Hong Kong 4As Interactive and Direct Committee and has been a guest lecturer at Hong Kong University and City University.


Kristan Rivers,

Based in Beijing, China, Kristan D. Rivers is head of Asia/Pacific for mobile media publisher Player X.

Prior to this, Kristan was head of Asia/Pacific at mobile games publisher Kayak Interactive, where he was responsible for creating profitable relationships with games developers, mobile operators, portals, and handset manufacturers.

Kristan has a history of working with very cool pocket-size connected devices. He was previously involved in the launch of Apple’s Newton PDA, and more recently launched and headed (as general manager) the Asia/Pacific arm of Digital Bridges (now I-play), a publisher and developer of games for mobile phones, and was head of mobile business at Glasgow-based avatar technology developer D.A. Group, where he spearheaded their creation of a mobile business division. Kristan has sold content services to numerous mobile operators globally, on every continent except Antarctica.

A native Texan, Kristan has lived in the U.K., Japan, South Korea, and China for the past eleven years, during which time he has been trying to decide whether the ultimate retirement plan should involve running a whisky distillery or a sake brewery. He has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, and once held the high score on the Sega Rally arcade game at Gatwick airport for over five weeks. He is married to a gorgeous and feisty Scottish lass and has two daughters.


Richard Robinson,

Presently Richard Robinson is the CEO of Dada Mobile Asia based in Beijing. Richard is initiating and overseeing all business operations across Asia build the company into of the leading mobile entertainment players in the Asia Pacific region.

Richard also serves as a Board Advisor for ACL Wireless in India. ACL is a dynamic New Delhi-based wireless instant messaging/chat player
(www.acl-wireless.com) which was voted the #1 fastest growing tech company in India in 2005 by Deloitte Consulting.

Previously, Richard was Vice President of International Business Development for Linktone, a leading provider of wireless value-added services to mobile phone users in China. Richard joined the company prior to its listing on NASDAQ which was a first globally for a company in the mobile entertainment space. In his role at Linktone, Richard sourced, closed and managed relationships with international wireless content partners such as Sony Music, Disney, Cartoon Network, Kodak, Reuters and NewsCorps' Channel V, etc to bring their wireless content and services to the mobile Middle Kingdom.

Prior to Linktone, Richard served as Managing Director of China for Mobile Internet Group in Beijing where he oversaw all China client relationships and operations including closing a deal with Yao Ming to create a suite of mobile services for the China market around the NBA All-Star.

As part of the move to Mobile Internet Group, Richard was Founder and CEO of Mobile interactive Games Ltd, which he started in Beijing in October of 2001 in conjunction with MINT, a PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting funded incubator. MiG was fully acquired by Sun Microsystems invested Softgame Pty Ltd in late 2002 (subsequently renamed Mobile Internet Group Pty. Ltd.).

Before founding Mobile interactive Games Ltd., Richard was a founding team member of renren.com a global community site for Chinese. As VP of Marketing and Sales, he ran the marketing, PR, sales and customer service teams of over 75 people across six cities in three countries.

Richard was with renren.com from a ten person company to a 350+ person company and continued with the company from initial seed funding through to funding of over US$37 million, on to renren's listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and finally through to renren's full acquisition in early 2001.

Richard came to renren.com from Modem Media in Hong Kong where he was the Regional Director of Strategy and Media for more than two years through to Modem's listing on NASDAQ. During his time at Modem, he helped grow the Hong Kong team from 3 people in early 1997 up to nearly 50 staff. Richard oversaw the regional interactive strategy and online media planning on all accounts including AT&T, Citibank, Intel, IBM and Cathay Pacific in markets such as Hong Kong, Mainland China, Singapore, Taiwan and Australia.

Richard received an MBA from the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University in The Netherlands in 1996, and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 1989.

Mobile Entertainment Magazine ranked Richard as one of the top 50 mobile entertainment executives globally in 2005.Advertising Age Magazine selected Richard as a Top Ten international Internet Superstar in 2000. Richard also founded the first Asian chapter of the Interactive Advertising Bureau and served as its chairman from 1997-2000.

Anthony Tse,

Anthony Tse is the President of China Entertainment Television (“CETV”), a leading 24-hour Putonghua general entertainment channel in Mainland China and a subsidiary of the TOM Group (“TOM”). In addition to CETV, he also oversees strategy and development of the Group’s Television and Entertainment division.

Anthony joined TOM in 2000, initially in Business Development where he was part of the team which played a key role in the mergers and acquisitions that transformed an Internet company into what is today one of the leading diversified media organizations in Asia. During his time with the TOM, Anthony has also served as Deputy General Manager for the Internet Operations, and until recently, as Director of Corporate Development, where he oversaw Strategic Planning, International Business Development and Investor Relations for the Group.

Aside from CETV, he is also a Board Director for Cité Publishing Holdings, the flagship unit of the Group’s Publishing division. In addition to his responsibilities at TOM, Anthony also sits on the Council of Governors for The Cable And Satellite Broadcasting Association of Asia (“CASBAA”).

Prior to joining TOM, Anthony spent over 5 years at News Corp’s STAR TV, where he was involved in broadcast operations management – responsible for the analogue-to-digital migration process of the STAR platform’s multiple channels, and key productions including those of STAR Sports and Phoenix TV, and special events such as the live broadcast coverage of Hong Kong’s 1997 Handover.

Anthony was born and educated in the United Kingdom. After working with a Citibank subsidiary based in London for over 2 years, he returned to Asia in 1992 to study at the Chinese University in Hong Kong.

Ha Yung-Kuen,

Mr Ha Yung-kuen has been the Deputy Director-General of the Office of the Telecommunications Authority (OFTA) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region since August 2006.

Between 2003 and 2006, Mr Ha was the Assistant Director (Regulatory Affairs) of OFTA, overseeing the regulation and licensing of public telecommunications services in Hong Kong. As a veteran telecommunications expert, he has been playing a pivotal role in formulating and executing telecommunications regulatory policies. Since 1997, he has been a member of the senior management of OFTA and has headed OFTA’s Support Branch and Regulatory Affairs Branch.

Mr Ha joined the Government in 1977 as an Assistant Telecommunications Engineer in the Hong Kong Post Office. He holds a Bachelor of Science (Engineering) degree of the University of Hong Kong and a Master of Science (Telecommunication Systems) degree of the University of Essex, U.K.
