Samir Bangara,

Samir Bangara has worked extensively with early stage companies throughout his career as a venture capitalist and as an investment banker. He has always been focused on advising early stage ‘new economy’ companies mainly in the wireless, software, and business process outsourcing space; assisting them to scale up, raise funds or execute strategic sale opportunities. Samir has advised over $200 mn in venture financing and/or M&A transactions in his roles on the buy side and sell side.

Prior to joining Indiagames Samir was a Vice President at Ernst & Young India’s M&A advisory team where he led the firms wireless and BPO initiatives. Samir successfully advised several cross border and domestic transactions in the technology space significantly contributing to Ernst & Young’s leadership position as the top technology M&A advisory firm in the country. In this role, he assisted over 50 companies in their strategic growth initiatives. Further, in his capacity as advisor to Indiagames, Samir led the strategic investment of Tom Online, Cisco and Macromedia in the company in 2005.

Earlier, Samir was part of ILFS Investment Managers (IIML) where he worked for two years and was part of the team investing in media and technology. He was also instrumental in the seed stage financing of Indiagames by IIML in 1999.

At Indiagames, Samir serves as its Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the firms Asia Pacific operations and launch of its new business initiatives including its broadband based PC gaming service – Games on Demand.

Samir is an MBA in Finance and has a Bachelors Degree in Commerce.

Maria Brown is a Co-Founder and Managing Director - Acquisitions and Programming of the Asian Food Channel.

A former journalist with the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), her broadcasting career in the international media industry spans more than 14 years. As a television producer, she made several innovative programmes tackling key issues. Maria has worked at BBC on several high profile consumer advocacy programmes such as "Watchdog", in documentaries for Channel 4, and for BBC News and Current Affairs.

From 1999 onwards, Maria assumed key management positions within the BBC, initially as a senior producer at BBC headquarters, and then leading a team of reporters, in the New York Bureau with Richard Quest (now an anchor with CNN).

Maria covered key events live for the BBC including the capture of Saddam Hussein and terror attacks globally. Maria brings to Asia significant broadcasting experience and media contacts gained from working at the cutting edge of one of the world's finest broadcasting organisations. She also has a unique perspective on the management and the execution of a media organisation and of programming.

As a co-founder of AFC Network Private Limited, Maria is now based in Singapore. Maria has a degree in Public Administration and a post graduate diploma in Journalism from Cardiff University. She received the annual Channel 4 TV scholarship for broadcasting in the UK in 1990.

Steven is currently the Director of Business Development for THQ Wireless in Asia. Prior to THQW, Steven was Director of Business Development for Contec Innovations Inc., a developer of carrier-class mobile application servers. Steven started in the mobile entertainment industry in 2001 with Riot Entertainment. Riot-E was a pioneer in publishing branded mobile content and was the first to bring such brands as The X-Men, Bridget Jones’s Diary, Spiderman and The Lord of the Rings to thousands of mobile phones on 3 continents. Before Riot-E, Steven managed regional sales and marketing activities for Intel Corporation in Asia, and was a Senior Engineer in charge of software test and development activities with Martin Marietta Corporation (now Lockheed Martin Corporation) based in Santa Clara, CA. Steven has a Masters in International Management (MIM) from Thunderbird, The Garvin School of International Management, and a Masters in Business Administration from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia.

Asela Gunawardena,

Mr. Asela Gunawardena is a Senior Manager of Technology Marketing at Nokia. He is responsible for marketing Technology Platforms developed by Nokia.

His responsibilities include promoting key Nokia technologies and platforms to operators, the media and analysts, and advancing the Series 60 Platform business system through strategic marketing.

In his four years at Nokia, Mr. Gunawardena was instrumental in launching and managing the marketing aspect of the Series 60 Platform and key products such as the Nokia Activ Software Suite.

Prior to joining Nokia, Mr. Gunawardena worked for Ericsson for six years where he held various positions from Systems Engineering to Global Product Management at Ericsson Mobile Phones. Mr. Gunawardena has a Master of Science degree in Management Systems Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech in the United States.

Lanny Huang is the General Manager of Playboy TV Asia and Japan for Playboy Entertainment Group, Inc. She oversees television, broadband and wireless projects for
Playboy TV in the region. Her Hong Kong team works closely with tv, internet and mobile operators, ensuring Playboy’s top quality range of adult content. Lanny is from New York USA and has been in Asia for most of her career.

Lanny’s expertise extends to her twenty five years in domestic and international organizations, including Cable & Wireless Hong Kong Telecom – Interactive Multimedia Services, MGM Gold Network Channel, MEASAT Astro Malaysia, Hong Kong I-Cable TV, HK-TVB, in broadcast TV, pay TV, PPV and VOD. He is a qualified accountant by training and has been with the telecommunications sector since 1997 starting with Mobikom Sdn Bhd, TM Cellular Sdn Bhd, the operator of TMTOUCH and Celcom.

Prior joining the telecommunications sector he was attached to the international accounting firm and later became a banker. He has 19 years of working experience.



Ms Jessica Kam-Engle,

Jessica Kam heads Celestial Pictures’ marketing and product management teams, and oversees the company’s distribution marketing and corporate communications, as well as product development to drive the promotions and sales of Celestial’s Shaw Brothers library titles, new film productions and acquired content. Kam joined Celestial Pictures from MTV Networks Asia where as Vice President, Deputy General Manager, MTV South China, she launched and managed the operations of the MTV China 24-hour channel. Previously, she was Vice President, Network Communications of MTV Networks Asia, leading the charge in the pan-regional strategic communications management for MTV, Nickelodeon and VH1 in Asia Pacific. Mr Giora Kanner,

Giora Kanner, Vice President and the Managing Director for Comverse South East Asia region, reporting directly to the president.
Mr. Kanner is responsible for the business in the South East Asia region which comprises mainly of Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia Thailand, Philippines and Vietnam as well as Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and others.
Over the Past 10 years Giora established a successful track record in developing high-growth and profitable operations in Asia Pacific.

Originally from the Southeast United States, Robert has spent the last 15 years working in London, New York and Los Angeles in varying roles in the IT profession. Twelve years ago he worked on his first internet site. Mr Colin Miles,

Colin is EVP and co-founder of i-POP Networks where he has spent the past several years evangelising the marketing power and revenue-generating potential of mobile services.

Mr Sandy Monteiro,

Sandy Monteiro, 42, a veteran of the Malaysian music industry, is Managing Director of Universal Music Malaysia, the Malaysian subsidiary of the Universal Music Group, the world’s largest music distribution company.

He is also the Regional Vice President for Universal Music International overseeing the roll out Digital (mobile and online) services across Asia.

The Universal Music Group has a galaxy of stars under its label including the Black Eyed Peas, Bon Jovi, U2, Eminem, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Jacky Cheung, Pussycat Dolls and Luciano Pavarotti to name but a few.

Sandy is the Chairman of Recording Industry Association of Malaysia (RIM). Ms Ong is no stranger to the media and music industries. She first earned her stripes

Her success in achieving profitable sales targets for those print titles led to her
recruitment to Singapore Cable Vision in 1994. At a time when cable TV was not

just over 3 years, she achieved just that. Ad revenues grew 10-fold within the first year
alone!

Richard was with renren.com from a ten person company to a 350+ person company and continued with the company from initial seed funding through to funding of over US$37 million, on to renren's listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and finally through to renren's full acquisition in early 2001.
