As GM Customer Experience Cyrus is responsible for ensuring Telstra products offer customers the best possible experience in line with Telstra's "oneclick" vision. His key focus areas include user centred design programs to support optimal product design, making products work 'first time' when you buy them, and driving the mobile experience through ui design innovation.

Prior to joining Telstra in early 2004, as Director Global Content Alliances, Cyrus played a key role in the development and implementation of Sony Ericsson's world-wide content strategy where he built partnerships with some of the world's leading media and content brands. Cyrus also contributed strongly towards the collaboration activities of Sony's European operating companies as the 2002-03 Chair of Sony Europe's synergy initiative, EuroTop Ideas Committee.

Cyrus' previous experience includes global product and business management roles in Ericsson's former satellite business unit, as well as Product & Brand management activities in Ericsson Australia’s mobile operation.

Mr Tommaso del Re,

Tommaso Del Re joined Yahoo!7 in 2005 and is the Head of Mobile. In this role he is responsible for mobilising world-class Yahoo! products and services with innovative content, and ensuring that these are readily accessible to the Yahoo!7 community.

Prior to Yahoo!7 Tommaso was the strategic alliances manager for Sharman Networks where he led content strategy development and implementation working with a number of record labels, distributors, film producers and artist management agencies.

Before locating to Australia in the early 2000s, Tommaso held various roles in the United Kingdom including e-commerce manager and project manager for the Telegraph Group, the publisher of The Daily Telegraph newspaper.

He was also the new media marketing and strategic development manager for Whittard of Chelsea, a high-street tea and coffee retailer, as well as a strategic alliances and marketing manager for Bertelsmann AG, where he managed a 550 million USD worldwide strategic online marketing relationship between Bertelsmann and AOL Time Warner.

Tommaso holds a Bachelor of Business and Economics from the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy.


Mr Richard Fink,

Richard is Director of Wireless Consumer Data Services within Telstra's Wireless & Mobility product group. In this role, Richard has accountability for the critical initiatives to lift Telstra's growth of wireless data, including rich mobile multimedia, device customisation, community applications and location based services. He and his team were responsible for delivering many of the new mobile applications to support Telstra's Next G network launch in October 2006. Richard has a breadth of experience across the mobiles portfolio with previous key roles in Prepaid, Messaging & Voice.

Richard joined Telstra in 2000, working within the Mergers & Acquisitions group, and then moved to Group Manager, Strategic Marketing for the SME customer segment in 2001. In this role he was responsible for strategy & planning across the marketing mix for Telstra's SME customers.

Prior to joining Telstra, Richard worked was Manager, Corporate Finance at Andersen working across acquisitions, divestments and capital raisings for a number of communications and mining clients. Graham has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australian, and holds a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance & Investment from Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

Bruno Fiorentini was appointed as chief operating officer of Yahoo!7 in August 2006. In this role he is responsible for developing the Australia Yahoo!7 product strategy and roadmap, developing new products designed for the local market and supporting existing applications and products.

Prior to his appointment as COO, Bruno held the position of South America General Manager of Yahoo! Brazil and Yahoo! Argentina where he was responsible for tripling the size of the business from 2003 to 2006. Bruno has worked for Yahoo! since 1999 and has had direct reports across the business including Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Product and Engineering departments.

Before his career at Yahoo!, Bruno was the founder and president of Brazil’s first Internet consulting firm that focused on technical solutions, e-commerce and online marketing strategy, Neoris/Medialab. He was also the marketing manager for Banco Nacional/Unibanco, a major Brazilian bank.

Bruno Fiorentini holds a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.

Gunnar Garfors is Director of Development in NRK's Division of Development and New Media. He has contributed to the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation's leading position in the mobile sphere through the launch of i.e. live TV on mobiles, advanced interactivity and real time 3G video on national television. Garfors is also in charge of developments within Digital TV, radio, the Internet and other new media. He holds a Master of Management Degree from Norwegian School of Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting from Falmouth College of Arts in the UK. The 31-year-old is originally a journalist and worked in various media companies in Norway and abroad before joining NRK in 2000. He regularly presents NRK’s new media innovations on conferences around the world.

Pawel and his team design and business-build the future evolution of Telecom’s mass market service provider arm. Key activities span offer and product design, operating model design and ensuring the key enablers are in place across all aspects of the organisation. Pawel joined Telecom three years ago and his prior roles included supporting COO Consumer with strategic advice and leadership of the NZ Market Strategy team formed when the clear requirement for closer alignment between the then separate fixed line, mobile and ISP business units started becoming apparent. Telecom has since restructured from the line-of-business focus to customer segment focus. Pawel came to Telecom after several years with McKinsey & Company, where he consulted on revenue enhancement and organisation design to senior management of some of the largest companies in the Asia Pacific. At McKinsey he was a member of the Telecommunications, Retail and Marketing Practices and worked in several sectors including telecommunications, financial services and retail. His work included core leadership of large turnaround programmes resulting in significant changes to business mix and performance lifts of the client organisations. Pawel holds a doctorate in Measurement Science from London where he subsequently worked with Birkbeck College, University College and Imperial College, and a science masters degree from Marie Curie University in Poland where he was born and grew up. Pawel sits on the Plenary Forum of the Fixed-Mobile Convergence Alliance and is a prolific international speaker on evolution of telecommunications services and markets.

Prior to this, Kristan was head of Asia/Pacific at mobile games publisher Kayak Interactive, where he was responsible for creating profitable relationships with games developers, mobile operators, portals, and handset manufacturers.

Kristan has a history of working with very cool pocket-size connected devices. He was previously involved in the launch of Apple’s Newton PDA, and more recently launched and headed (as general manager) the Asia/Pacific arm of Digital Bridges (now I-play), a publisher and developer of games for mobile phones, and was head of mobile business at Glasgow-based avatar technology developer D.A. Group, where he spearheaded their creation of a mobile business division. Kristan has sold content services to numerous mobile operators globally, on every continent except Antarctica.

A native Texan, Kristan has lived in the U.K., Japan, South Korea, and China for the past eleven years, during which time he has been trying to decide whether the ultimate retirement plan should involve running a whisky distillery or a sake brewery. He has an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, and once held the high score on the Sega Rally arcade game at Gatwick airport for over five weeks. He is married to a gorgeous and feisty Scottish lass and has two daughters.

Claudia has specialised in the digital media and mobile sector for the last five years and currently chairs AIMIA’s Mobile Content Industry Development Group (www.aimia.com.au/mobile). Previously Claudia worked for a number of years in the business information sector in senior management roles, in Australia, Asia and South Africa. She began her working life as a corporate banking analyst.

Bob Schukai is vice president of wireless and broadband technologies for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., (TBS, Inc.). In this capacity, he is responsible for global research and development activities for TBS, Inc. in the areas of mobile/wireless, broadband, Internet protocol television (IPTV) and games. Schukai is based in Atlanta and reports directly to Alastair Hamilton, corporate senior vice president of platform research & development and worldwide distribution technology for TBS, Inc.

Prior to joining Turner Broadcasting in early 2005, Schukai spent more than 18 years working for Motorola, Inc., in the United States and United Kingdom. Most recently, he served as director of global 3G strategy and business development for Motorola, overseeing global strategy and business development activities for 3G handsets. While at Motorola, he was also involved in research and development; engineering; design, development and management; and product marketing and strategy.

Schukai holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University. He is a 20-year member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a technical and professional association of more than 365,000 individual members in approximately 150 countries. Schukai also represents parent company Time Warner, Inc. in the Open Mobile Alliance broadcast working group, which is tasked with developing globally interoperable standards for mobile telephony.

He has a wide range of experience evaluating and improving the end-to-end customer experience with mobile devices, including 2G, 2.5G and 3G devices, portals, applications and content. He has conducted field research into future mobile usage and the interaction between the mobile device and other technologies.

Oliver is a judge, author and speaker on the mobile customer experience.
