His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama is the leader of Tibetan Buddhism, the head of the Tibetan government-in-exile, and a spiritual leader revered worldwide. His travels in the cause of peace and a free Tibet have made him an international celebrity. Winner of the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1989, he is universally respected as a spokesman for the compassionate and non-violent resolution of human conflict. In recent years a number of western universities and institutions have conferred Peace Awards and honorary Doctorate Degrees upon His Holiness in recognition of his scholarship and distinguished writing on Buddhist philosophy. His Holiness has travelled extensively, speaking on subjects including universal responsibility, happiness, compassion, and kindness.
Ven Tenzin Chönyi psychologist, touring teacher, FPMT
As Dr Diana Taylor, Ven Tenzin Chönyi (BSc Med PhD MAPS) was a psychologist at Monash University Counseling Service and later in private practice. After ordination by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama, she spent four years studying Buddhist philosophy with Geshe Tashi Tsering. She is currently a traveling teacher for FPMT (the Foundation for the Preservation of Mahayana Tradition) and visiting teacher at Vajrayana institute. Ven Chönyi writes for Mandala, Dharma Vision and Sangha Magazine and is currently writing a book on addiction.
Ven. Robin Courtin Founder, Liberation Prison Project, USA & Australia
Ven Robina is Director of the Liberation Prison Project (LPP) and is based in San Francisco. LPP cares for the spiritual needs of more than 6,000 prisoners, many on death row, in 700 institutions across the United States and now also operates in Australia. Ven Robina has been a nun in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition for over 27 years. Her extraordinary life was the subject of an award- winning documentary, Chasing Buddha.

Howard C Cutler, MD, is an author, speaker, and psychiatrist based in Phoenix, Arizona. He is co-author with H.H. the Dalai Lama of two internationally best-selling books, The Art of Happiness: A Handbook for Living, and The Art of Happiness at Work. Dr Cutler and H. H. the Dalai Lama are currently working on the third volume, titled, The Art of Happiness in a Troubled World. Dr Cutler's academic background includes a BA in Art, a BS in Zoology, and an MD degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. He is a diplomate of The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and is on the editorial board of The American Journal of Psychotherapy. Stephanie Dowrick is an internationally best-selling writer whose books include Intimacy and Solitude, The Universal Heart, Forgiveness and Other Acts of Love and Choosing Happiness. She has also been writing the Inner Life column in Good Weekend Magazine since 2001. Alongside her writing, Stephanie has been leading workshops and spiritual retreats on social, spiritual and ethical issues from an interfaith perspective for many years. In June of 2005 she was ordained in New York as an Interfaith Minister. Associate Professor Nick Allen is a Clinical Psychologist and Principal Research Fellow at the ORYGEN Research Centre and the Department of Psychology at the University of Melbourne. Trisha Broadbridge 2006 Young Australian of the Year
Trisha Broadbridge, 25, is the 2006 Young Australian of the Year. Trisha survived the Boxing Day tsunami, but lost her husband Troy Broadbridge. She overcame her grief by creating a bright future for others, establishing the Reach Broadbridge Fund in Troy’s honour. She also helped establish the Broadbridge Education Centre on Phi Phi Island. Trisha’s courage in the face of adversity is admirable and inspirational to all. Trisha believes, above all, that “no matter what happens, you have to keep going.”

Anne Deveson is a writer, broadcaster, and former head of the Australian Film Television and Radio School, who has a passionate involvement in social justice issues. Her films have won national and international awards including three UN Media Peace prizes; her books include the widely acclaimed 'Tell Me I'm Here' - the story of her son's struggles with schizophrenia. Her most recent best selling book, 'Resilience" was broadcast nationally on the ABC. She is currently writing a book on peace. Anne is an Officer of the Order of Australia.
