The Concept

After successfully running funds events for over 10 years in 15 cities such as New York, London, Frankfurt, Zurich, Milan, Dubai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, Sydney and Johannesburg; the one event that will cover all aspects of the funds industry comes to Mumbai-India!

India looks increasingly attractive with annualised returns in double figures despite recent volatility. The number of dedicated Indian funds has also increased by leaps and bounds, while assets under management by these funds have more than doubled. Indian markets are more fertile for fund operations than those of China. Its believe that such advantage for India is derived from growth of derivatives markets in the country, in addition to revisions and modernisations of the Indian investment laws and regulatory oversight.

The economy of India is the fourth largest in the world, with a GDP OF $3.63 trillion at PPP, and is the tenth largest in the world and has a real GDP growth rate of 6.2% at PPP. Over the years, the total assets under management have multiplied with much of that growth in the last two years. These constitute approximately 6% of India's gross domestic product (GDP). The industry looks poised for more growth as increasingly market-savvy investors seek better returns in a low interest rate economy. There are several good reasons for investing in India.

  • One of the largest economies in the world.
  • Strategic location - access to the vast domestic and South Asian market.
  • Long history of market economy infrastructure
  • Sophisticated financial sector.
  • Well balanced package of fiscal incentives.
  • A sophisticated legal and accounting system.
  • English is widely spoken and understood.
  • A long history of stable parliamentary democracy.

With the right strategy and partners, India offers financial institutions an enticing mix of strong economic fundamentals, a stable political system, an educated population with high savings rates and a market that is largely untapped.
