Moaz Barakat is a graduate of the American University of Beirut where he obtained his Bachelor degree in 1984 and his Masters degree in 1986 in Business Administration.

After receiving his Masters degree, Moaz Barakat joined Gulf Eternit Industries in 1986 as the Finance and Administration Coordinator. In 1988 Moaz Barakat joined Price Waterhouse as Senior Manager, Audit & Business Advisory Services. In 1995 Moaz Barakat joined the World Gold Council as Regional Finance, Administration & Planning Manager for the Middle East & India Sub-Continent, a position he held till he was appointed to his current position in 1999 as the Managing Director of the WGC for the Middle East, Turkey and Pakistan.

Livingstone Chew is the Portfolio Manager of Plutus Asset Management, Ltd. He currently runs their investment allocation and risk management team. Mr. Chew joined us from Steadfast Financial where he served as a trader for their equity long short value strategy. Mr. Chew ran their firm wide due diligence of long short rebate positions and market risk for firm-wide trading positions. Previously, he worked at Exis Capital a billion dollar fund that was funded by SAC Capital. He started in the Equity, Futures and Options Operations of Exis Capital and moved on to build up their operations group including their UK branch office and mutual funds operations. Within two years he was assigned to run their Credit Derivative Swaps Middle Office operations. Mr. Chew was promoted to be their Execution Trader in their Derivative Trading team. He has also been a capital introducer within the PIPE industry.

Ms. Coignard is international consultant with the Apogee Gold Fund. Since 2001, she is the managing partner at Coignard & Haas, an advisory firm focusing on the mining industry, advising mining companies and investors.
From 1997 to 2000 Ms. Coignard built up and headed the investment and financing departments of Norilsk Nickel in Moscow, Russia. Prior to her gaining industrial experience at Norilsk, she had held senior investment banking roles at Interros in Moscow, Citibank in Moscow and London and at Société Générale in Paris, working on corporate finance transactions in capital intensive industries including mining. Mr Bhagyesh Dash,

Mr. Dash is a Managing Director of Crosby Capital Partners in Singapore and a member of Crosby’s natural resources and energy team. Mr. Dash joined Crosby in 2002 and has worked on most of Crosby’s mining and energy related deals including the takeover bids for Novus Petroleum and Tethyan Copper Company.

Prior to Crosby, Mr. Dash was a Director with Triton Advisory, a corporate finance advisory firm based in Indonesia focused on mergers and acquisitions advisory work in the natural resources sector. Whilst at Triton, he was involved in the privatization of PT. Timah (at the time the world’s largest tin mining company), PT. Aneka Tambang (state owned nickel and gold producer) and PT. Bukit Asam (one of Indonesia’s largest coal producers). He was also involved in advising investors on the acquisition of various coal companies including Kaltim Prima Coal, Arutmin, Adaro Coal and Berau Coal all of whom are amongst the 5 largest coal producers in Indonesia.

An industry expert with over 15 years of international experience in leading oil and gas companies, Dr. Tilak Doshi joined DMCC as Executive Director for Energy. With his wealth of experience Tilak is tasked to specifically drive regional market and product development for the energy sector.

Dr. Doshi was a Consultant for Saudi Aramco in its crude marketing and corporate planning department. He has also held senior positions as Director of Industry Analysis at the Atlantic Richfield Company in Los Angeles, and Chief Energy Economist at the Unocal Corporation’s Asia office in Singapore.

As Executive Director for the energy sector, Dr.Doshi serves to intensify links between DMCC and the energy industry. James Turk is the founder and chairman of GoldMoney (www.goldmoney.com), which provides a convenient and economical way to buy and sell gold online using the digital gold currency for which he was awarded three US patents. He began his business career with The Chase Manhattan Bank (now J.P. Morgan Chase), which included assignments in Thailand, the Philippines and Hong Kong. In 1980 he joined the private investment and trading company of a prominent precious metals trader. He moved to the United Arab Emirates in December 1983 to be appointed Manager of the Commodity Department of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, a position he held until resigning in 1987. James Turk has written several monographs on money and banking and is the co-author of The Coming Collapse of the Dollar.

Mr. Urfer began his professional career in 1993 as a private client portfolio manager with Credit Suisse in Geneva. He was responsible for defining strategy for Swiss franc mandates domiciled in Geneva, developing benchmarks for private clients and implementing investment solutions for high-net-worth individuals. He joined Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie in 1998 as a private client portfolio manager, co-managing the Swiss-franc-denominated mutual funds Global Dynamic and Global Conservative. In 2001, he assumed responsibility for portfolio management for financial intermediaries before taking over the Fund Research & Multi-Management Section in 2003. His areas of research are North American stocks and asset allocation. He co-manages the LODHI Healthcare Expertise Fund and LODH Multifonds Commodity. Mr. Urfer is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Certified Swiss Financial Analyst (CEFA).

Christiaen van Lanschot is responsible for marketing and structuring commodity-based transactions at Banque AIG. He has been working in the derivative industry for over 10 years and has been with Banque AIG since 2001. Since joining Banque AIG he has marketed and structured a broad range of derivative products with a focus on the Benelux region. Prior to joining Banque AIG Mr. van Lanschot was responsible for marketing derivative products to the Netherlands at General Re Financial Securities and subsequently at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter.

Frank Veneroso founded Veneroso Associates in 1995 to provide global investment strategy to money managers. Currently he acts as market strategist for the Global Policy Committee of RCM and is a strategy advisor to the Finance Committee of the board of Allianz. He also manages a global macro fund and a gold fund. Frank served from 1992 to 1994 as senior partner in charge of global investment policy formulation at Omega, one of the world’s largest hedge funds. In 1980, he began Newcastle Capital markets, providing investment strategy advice to money managers and economic and policy consultation and to international agencies and governments in areas of money, banking, financial instability and crisis, privatization, and the development and globalization of emerging securities markets. He was an advisor to PHIBRO on commodities, then the leading global commodity trading firm. In 1991 he initiated the Emerging Markets Gold Fund with the International Finance Corporation and Rothschild. Both before forming and then during Newcastle Partners, Frank’s clients included the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the U.S. State Department, and the Organization of American States: during this time, he also advised the governments of Bahrain, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Korea, Mexico, Portugal, Thailand, Venezuela, and the UAE. Frank graduated cum laude from Harvard University.

Colin Waugh,

Colin Waugh is responsible for global strategy, research and portfolio management at Galtere where he has worked since 2002. He began his financial markets career at Merrill Lynch, after which he was Vice President, Commodities Division, at Shearson Lehman Brothers. He later founded and operated C. Macdonald Futures, a Commodity Trading Advisor.

His professional specialization at the fund centers on the development of an Africa sub-portfolio and building the new Climate Volatility theme, which includes exposures in bio-energy, emissions control, water and weather-related investments.

Colin’s career has included financial publishing with Euromoney Institutional Investor and migration development work in Africa. He has also carried out research assignments both for investment funds and international organizations. Mr. Waugh holds a Masters of Science degree from the London School of Economics, is a published author and speaks French, Italian and Portuguese.
