The purpose of the workshop shall be to provide an insight into the development of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects: How to deal with regulations, legal matters, validation and verification of the project, project financing and the implementation of risk management and mitigation strategies.

The Masterclass focuses on the trading of CERs from CDM projects in Asia, with a strong emphasis on the emerging online carbon trading practices in the region. An important area to be addressed is the need for a transparent pricing mechanism for CERs. This Masterclass will also examine the prevalent financial structures involved in CDM project implementation.

The learning experience will be enriched with the presence of leading stakeholders in carbon trading as well as non-Annex I government officials in the industry panel discussion and roundtable debate.
