The 9th Annual Asia Power Congress that took place on 13 – 17 March 2006 at the Grand Hyatt attracted a total of 200+ delegates from 23 countries around the globe, with overwhelming press support and media coverage from regional and international media.
Special keynote speaker Commissioner Suedeen Kelly from The United States Federal Energy Regulatory Commission flew down from Washington to address the audience. The event also received the support of ministers and high-level government officials from Thailand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, India and Philippines, amongst others. We had almost 50 international speakers who represent the cream of the crop in the industry.
The conference saw a series of thought-provoking sessions, debates, and interactive discussions when speakers and delegates exchanged expert opinions, views and insights on industry happenings, regulations, investments, finance, renewable energy, nuclear energy, transmission and distribution, energy risk and security, grid development and integrity, fuel supplies, oil prices, trends and other challenges that the power utility and energy industry are facing and will face down the road.
The event also featured unique networking and social events, including our signature Speed Networking, Welcome dinner at The Night Safari Zoo Singapore and closing cocktail party at the hotel.
Feedback from delegates at the conference was very positive, with most commenting on the quality of speakers, the seniority of delegates and the general level of business opportunities that were afforded. From the buzz during the networking opportunities, it is clear that our participants were making the most out of these opportunities, making introductions and cementing deals.
Asia Power & Energy Congress strives to be Asia Pacific’s yardstick and springboard for the affluent power, utility and energy companies, investors, regulators, lawyers, financiers, consultants and suppliers to meet annually in Asia.
