Mr Jon Addison, Fund Manager, Meat Industry Employees' Superannuation Fund
Jon Addison is the Fund Manager of the Meat Industry Employees Superannuation Fund (MIESF). Jon joined MIESF in June of 1999 and is responsible for the overall management and investment strategy of the Fund.
Jon also sits on the Board of a number of companies, particularly in the fund’s management and private equity sector
Jon has over 30 years in the investment management industry, including wide experience in superannuation.
Prior to his appointment to MIESF, Jon was a Director and Asset Consultant within the Corporate Finance section of PricewaterhouseCoopers and in this role was responsible for establishing an investment consulting practice with clients ranging from superannuation funds to insurance funds and funds managers. Prior to that, Jon was Manager, Investment Consultant at Sedgwick Noble Lowndes.

Jeffrey Bohn, General Manager, Shinsei Bank Limited
Dr. Bohn leads the Financial Strategies group at Shinsei Bank in Tokyo. Previously, he led Moody’s KMV’s (MKMV’s) Global Research group and MKMV’s Credit Strategies group. During his time at MKMV, he also managed MKMV Asia. He is fluent in Japanese. Dr. Bohn has been directly involved in developing several of the models and products currently sold by MKMV. His research group developed, maintained, and improved the models underlying MKMV’s product offerings. He often gives seminars on topics ranging from credit instrument valuation to active credit portfolio management. At Shinsei bank, Dr. Bohn develops methodologies and strategies to improve the bank’s financial and risk management. He conducts research in the areas of private and public firm risk assessment, correlation estimation, portfolio risk assessment, collateralized debt obligation risk assessment, credit instrument valuation, credit trading strategies, bank funding strategies, and management of financial institutions. Dr. Bohn has published widely in the area of credit risk. Currently, Dr. Bohn teaches a credit risk modeling class in the Masters of Financial Engineering program at the University of California, Berkeley. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley.

Mark Cutis, Chief Investment Officer, Shinsei Bank Limited
Mark Cutis joined Shinsei Bank in May 2004 in the newly created position of Chief Investment Officer. His career background has been in trading, investments and treasury activities. He was formerly with HVB, the Munich- headquartered German Bank, originally hired in their New York Branch as Treasurer for the Americas where he was also responsible for developing and directing HVB’s proprietary allocation to Alternative Investments. Subsequently, he moved to Tokyo as the CEO of their Japanese operations.
Prior to joining HVB, Mr. Cutis worked in New York, London and Frankfurt with various organizations. These include a 10 year stint with Merrill Lynch in London and New York as well as being the Treasurer of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in London. He began his career with Bank of America at their New York Corporate Service Office as an account officer.
Mr. Cutis holds an MBA from the Wharton School as well as a BA in Economics from Emory University where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Society. He speaks French and Greek and has a working knowledge of German. He is currently studying Japanese and Spanish.

Olivier d'Assier, President, Axioma (Asia) Pte Ltd.
Olivier d'Assier is responsible for leading Axioma's international expansion in Asia Pacific. He joined the firm in March 2006 and since then incorporated both Axioma (Asia) and Axioma (HK) in Singapore and HK respectively. Mr. d’Assier is based in our Singapore regional headquarter.
Mr. d'Assier was previously President of Barra Japan and Executive Director of MSCI Barra for Asia Pacific, where he was responsible for the strategic and commercial business development in that region, overseeing the operation of the firm's Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney offices.
Mr. d'Assier joined Barra in 1998 as Sales Manager for Asia. In September 2000, he became Managing Director, Asia ex-Japan for Barra International based in Hong Kong. In February 2003, he moved to Tokyo as President of Barra Japan and Vice President of Barra Inc. for Asia Pacific, adding responsibility for the Japan, Australia and New Zealand markets. Following the acquisition of Barra by Morgan Stanley in June 2004 and the subsequent merger of Barra with MSCI, Mr. d’Assier became Executive Director of MSCI Barra with overall responsibility for the combined businesses in the region.
Prior to joining Barra, Mr. d'Assier served as the Senior Vice President, Head, Institutional Sales, for Nikko Securities in Singapore. He held a Dealer's Representative license from the Singapore Stock Exchange, as well as an Index Futures and Options license from SIMEX. Before Nikko he was with RSI Securities, a partner of Smith New Court Securities, heading Strategy and Sales for Asian (ex-Japan) Equities out of their Geneva office for Swiss and German institutions. He received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Political Science in 1989 from the Cullen Business School at the University of Houston, Texas where he was a scholarship recipient.

Michel Girardin is a Member of Senior Management and the Senior Economic adviser of UBP Gestion Institutionnelle, the Asset Management affiliate of Union Bancaire Privée. As such, he shapes the investment strategy for Institutional clients, with an emphasis on Alternative Investments. He has more than 15 years experience as Head of Research and Chief Investment Officer for Private Banks in Geneva and Zurich. His experience includes that of managing global Equity and Bond Funds as well as an Asian Fund of Hedge Funds. He was also a senior economist for Data Resources Inc. in Milan. A professor of Finance at the University of Lausanne and Geneva, Michel holds a Ph.D. and B.A. in Economics from the University of Lausanne and a Master’s degree of Science en Economics from the London School of Economics.

Paul Hoff, Managing Director - Asia Pacific, FTSE
Mr Hoff has worked for FTSE Group since he opened the Tokyo office in 2003. He is responsible for operations across the Asia Pacific region, which began when the Hong Kong office was established in 2001.
In his role at FTSE Group, Mr Hoff oversees business development in the Asia Pacific region and works to develop partnerships in the local financial communities. Amongst the most notable of the partnerships to date has been the partnership in China with Xinhua Finance and the work with Bursa Malaysia, Singapore Exchanges, Stock Exchange of Thailand, Taiwan Stock Exchange and ASEAN. Mr Hoff also directs the sales, marketing and client services functions for the region.
Prior to joining FTSE Group, Mr Hoff worked in the Japanese financial markets for more than 25 years. During 17 years with HSBC Securities’ Tokyo branch, Mr Hoff worked in Japanese equity research and sales, international equity capital markets, corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions. He was initially responsible for establishing the James Capel & Co. securities branch, the forerunner to HSBC Securities Tokyo branch. He began his career in equities with Grieveson, Grant and Co., setting up its Japanese equity research department in 1983.
Mr Hoff has lived in Asia for 30 years and speaks fluent Japanese.

Andrei Movchan, Chief Executive Officer, Renaissance Investment Management
Investment management as an independent business, and the Renaissance Investment Management within Renaissance, were developed from scratch by Mr. Movchan. Within a period of just three years, RIM has developed to become the acknowledged leader of Russia's investment management market. Mr Movchan has wide experience in the Russian investment industry. Before joining Renaissance, his most recent post, held from 1997, was as Executive Director of the investment bank Troika Dialog, where his particular responsibility was for corporate finance and special client operations. Before that, Mr Movchan worked for the commercial bank Rossiysky Credit as Department Head for financial services and analysis. Andrei Movchan holds a Master of Science degree from the Moscow State University and the Russian State Academy of Finance. He received his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Forbes magazine called Andrei Movchan the most successful CEO of the Asset Management Company in Russia in 2006.

Nori Oharazawa is Director, Consulting and also Senior Consultant with Russell’s Tokyo Consulting Group. Mr. Oharazawa leads the Group in providing advice to corporate and public pension fund clients on all aspects of their investment programs including governance, asset allocation, investment structure, manager selection and performance monitoring. Mr. Oharazawa joined Russell in 1999. Since then he had been working as General Manager, Strategic Alliance, been working as Senior Practice Consultant with Russell’s Consulting Group from 2001, been General Manager of Investment Practices in 2002, been managing Marketing & Communications in 2003 and 2004 concurrently, and took on the role of Senior Project Manager, Indexes from 2005. He was assigned as Head of Tokyo Consulting Group in October 2006. Before coming to Russell, Mr. Oharazawa was President of Global Wrap Consulting Group, a Japanese-based corporation conducting a mutual fund wrap account business, which was established jointly by Salomon Smith Barney and Nikko Securities. Previously, Mr. Oharazawa worked for Nikko Securities for 15 years. While there, he was chiefly responsible for business and technology development areas, including leading Nikko’s Institute of Investment Technology, working on joint venture projects with BARRA and Wells Fargo Investment Advisors, and working as a researcher for equity portfolio management and asset allocation technology. Mr. Oharazawa has published a number of articles in industry publications, including Security Analyst Journal (Japan) and The Journal of Investment Technology. He was a member of the board of directors of the Japan Finance Association from 1994 to 1995, and has served as a member of the Editing Committee of the Japan Finance Association/MPT Forum Journal since 1996. As a university student Mr. Oharazawa originally studied City Planning, and was licensed as a Certified Real Estate Appraiser after graduation.

I, Masashi Toshino am a senior researcher at the Daiwa Fund Consulting, an affiliate of the Daiwa Securities Group Co., which is the second largest brokerage firm in Japan. I am doing research on pension investment strategies and related topics.
After graduating from the University of Tokyo, I joined the Daiwa Securities Group. Since then, I took an MBA at the University of Chicago and Ph.D. at the Waseda University while working for the Daiwa as a researcher. The topic of my dissertation paper was the behavioral finance, and I have been teaching on this topic at such domestic business schools as Hitotsubashi University and Waseda University after working for the company.
I have been also working for the Security Analysts Association of Japan on several of its committees; i.e. Publication Committee, Examination Committee, and Curriculum Committee, etc.
I have written books and/or papers on such topics as stock options, derivatives markets, market microstructure, pension plan management, and behavioral finance.

Masaki Tsumagari, Senior Investment Officer, The World Bank
Masaki Tsumagari, CFA is Senior Investment Officer, Quantitative Strategies, Risk & Analytics Department of Treasury at The World Bank. In this position, he implements and reviews Treasury’s risk management practice across all asset classes, performs Asset and Liability studies and constructs asset allocation strategies for portfolios based on various investment objectives for inside/outside (developing countries and other UN agencies) clients. He also develops and implements new risk methods such as non-normality adjusted VaR, various stress test methods and regime oriented analyses including alternative asset classes. Previously, Masaki was Senior Financial Officer in the CFO’s Corporate Finance Department in charge of analysis of financial policies and structures of the World Bank agencies and before that, Investment Officer in the Investment Management Department of Treasury in charge of currency overlay program for pension investment and currency trading for the World Bank operation. Before joining the World Bank, he was a Portfolio Manager and an Investment Analyst at The Chuo Trust and Banking Co., Ltd. in Tokyo. He also served as a visiting researcher for Pension Fund Management Research Institute, a subsidiary of Japan’s government agency in charge of pension system there. Masaki holds an MBA with honor grades in finance and strategy from Yale University School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts in business and commerce from Keio University, Tokyo. He also holds CFA charter from CFA Institute and CMA (Chartered Member Analyst) certificate from The Security Analyst Association of Japan (SAAJ). He contributes articles for magazines and chapters for books about investment/finance issues. His latest article appears on Financial Analyst Journal Volume 62 No. 5. Masaki is a frequent speaker at investment/pension conferences and teaches corporate-finance/investment at schools/institutions including business course at National University of Laos as a visiting lecturer in 2002 and pension investment seminar at Association of Social Security of ASEAN in 1998. Roger graduated from Oxford University (Merton College) in 1977 with two degrees: an MA in Mathematics and an MSc in Applied Statistics. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1983. He worked as an investment consultant for Bacon and Woodrow and headed William Mercer’s investment practice before joining Gartmore Investment Management in 1987, where he was the Director responsible for two fields: business development and quantitative investment.
