Simon was appointed CEO of PLUS Markets Group plc in November 2004 since when he has been implementing a series of radical changes, including the launch of the PLUS service which now trades over 800 securities worth over £145 billion.

Jean-François CONIL-LACOSTE is Chief Executive Officer of Powernext SA, the Paris based French Power and CO2 Exchange, which started its operations in November 2001, and since July 2005 Vice-chairman of the board of Belpex, the Belgian Power exchange.
Prior to launching Powernext, Jean-François was Director of Euronext Derivatives Markets and Chief Executive of Euronext Ltd in London, where he lived over the previous four years.
During this period, Jean-François also served as a board member of the Futures & Options Association and the Alternative Investment Management Association (AIMA), which he chaired from 1994 to 1997. He has been named in January 2004 member of the Consultative Working Group of the CESR (Committee of European Securities Regulators).
Jean-François graduated from ESSEC, the French business school, in 1976. He then joined the Louis-Dreyfus Group as an international commodity trader and held various management positions in both France and Argentina until 1986. From 1986 to 1997, he worked for Ferri SA, now ING Ferri, a leading French stock broker, as Managing Director of the Fixed Income and Futures divisions.

David Cox is an Associate in the Financial Technology Advisory Group of Evercore Partners. Prior to joining Evercore, Mr. Cox was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of JPMorgan. Mr. Cox’s selected transactions include the formation of the FXMarketSpace joint venture between the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and Reuters, E*TRADE’s acquisitions of BrownCo for $1.6B from JPMorgan and of Harrisdirect for $700M from Bank of Montreal, E*TRADE’s bid for Ameritrade, TA Associates’ acquisition of eSecLending, the $1.05B acquisition by InterContinentalExchange of the New York Board of Trade, and the sale of Instinet to Nomura. Mr. Cox received a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in Finance and Operations & Information Management.

Charlotte Crosswell, Head of Nasdaq International, Nasdaq
Charlotte Crosswell joined NASDAQ in London in March 2004, as President of NASDAQ International. She is responsible for the NASDAQ offices and representatives based in Hong Kong, Bangalore, Tokyo and Beijing. Crosswell’s primary role is to manage NASDAQ’s relationships with companies listed on the Exchange from outside the United States. These companies have a total global market capitalisation of over $700 billion. In addition she is responsible for NASDAQ’s business development for overseas companies that are considering a foreign listing.
NASDAQ International has the role of supporting NASDAQ-listed companies as they look to develop relationships with the analyst and investor communities in Europe and Asia.
As part of her role Crosswell maintains and develops relationships with global stock exchanges, regulators and governments. She is also a frequent contributor at conferences and events.
Prior to joining NASDAQ, Crosswell spent six years at The London Stock Exchange, and was promoted to Head of International Business Development. She was also part of the London Stock Exchange’s Management team. Between 1996 and 1998 Crosswell was in European Equity Sales at Goldman Sachs. She has a BA (Hons.) in French from the University of Southampton.

Nathalie de Basaldua has been a European Commission official since 1986 working in the areas of Company Law, Public Procurement and Securities Markets. She was Policy Assistant to the Director General of the Internal Market from 2002 to 2004. Since August 2004 she heads the Securities Markets Unit and is responsible for areas such as Prospectuses, Market Abuse, Markets in Financial Instruments, Rating Agencies, Financial Analysts, Deregistration of EU issuers in the US, the European Securities Markets Expert Group or Bond Market Transparency. Nathalie studied Law in Spain and Public Administration in Germany.

Arman Falsafi, Chicago Mercantile Exchange
Arman Falsafi has served as Managing Director, Europe, Middle East and Africa for CME since 2004, leading and overseeing CME’s efforts to further expand its international business throughout the region.
Falsafi joined CME in 1999 as Senior Director, Technology Strategy. She was promoted later that year to Vice President, Technology Strategy (later re-titled Director). In these roles, Falsafi was responsible for business development and strategy as well as international alliances. In 2001, Falsafi was named Managing Director, Global Electronic Trading and Data, and assumed responsibility for CME Globex®, information products and international offices.
Before joining CME, Falsafi held systems integration positions of increasing responsibility for MCI Systemhouse in Chicago, which she joined in 1994. She was named Director of System Integration for the company’s financial services practice in 1997. Previously, she held systems and software engineering positions for Swiss Bank Corporation/O’Connor & Associates in Chicago from 1990-94.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Connecticut in 1987, a master’s degree in computer systems engineering from Northeastern University in 1990 and an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago in 1997.

Mr Bruce Goldberg, Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer, International Secruities Exchange
Bruce Goldberg is the Chief Marketing Officer of ISE. In this role, he is responsible for brand management, business development, research and corporate affairs, education and member relations. Prior to joining ISE, Mr. Goldberg held numerous marketing and sales management positions in companies ranging in size in from Fortune 100 companies to start-ups. From 1989 to 1996, Mr. Goldberg was with the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), where he was vice president of retail marketing and sales. While serving in this role, he developed the concept and marketing plan for LEAPS®, one of the most successful products in the options industry. Mr. Goldberg was also responsible for new product development and rollouts, establishing strategic direction for the marketing department, developing communications and educational materials and was a co-founder of the Options Industry Council. Mr. Goldberg has held senior marketing positions for industry leaders Procter & Gamble, Frito-Lay and Pizza Hut. He has an MBA in Marketing-Finance from Cornell University and a BS in Psychology from Union College

Mr Jim Gollan, Chairman, virt-x Exchange Limited
Jim is Executive Chairman of virt-x, the pan-European equities exchange based in London. Jim is also a member of the Management Committee of SWX Swiss Exchange, virt-x’s parent organisation. He has worked for virt-x since its inception in 2001, initially as Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer, moving up to CEO in July 2005. A graduate in modern languages from Bristol University, he trained as a UK Chartered Accountant. His career includes roles as Managing Director, KPMG Consulting (Financial Services) Asia Pacific and CFO, Hong Kong and China at Standard Chartered. He has worked in private banking for the Coutts Group, in investment management with Gartmore and in commercial banking for Lloyds Bank Group.

Mr Martin Graham, Director of Markets, London Stock Exchange
Martin Graham is the Director of Markets at the London Stock Exchange. Martin is responsible for the market-facing functions within the Exchange, as well as the development of domestic and international markets services including client relationships, market operations, market regulation and RNS, the Exchange’s regulatory news service. This division comprises approximately 250 staff and accounts for more than half of the Exchange’s turnover. In March 2006 Martin also assumed responsibility for the overall management of EDX (the London Stock Exchange’s equity derivatives market). Martin is a Board member of FTSE International, The Engineering and Technology Board, EDX and the Indo British Partnership. Prior to joining the Exchange, Martin developed extensive industry experience as Managing Director and Global Head of Equity Sales at WestLB Panmure and Global Head of Equity Sales at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. Mr Philip Haynes, Senior Industry Expert, Omx
Philip is a Senior Industry Expert with OMX, with more than eleven years experience in the provision of marketplace solutions across the world. Philip has been responsible for analysis, design, development and implementation of solutions for a wide cross section of marketplaces. This includes solutions for exchanges such as SWX Swiss Exchange, Shanghai Stock Exchange and the Nordic Exchange, global market participants such as UBS and Instinet and includes the new style of marketplace facilitators such as Icap. He has spent the last nine years living and working in London. Philip holds a BEc in Econometrics, a BSc in Computing Science and an LLB; these qualifications were obtained between 1991 and 1994 at Macquarie University (Sydney).

Mr Brian Healy, Director of Trading and Regulation and Chairman of DIG, Irish Stock Exchange
As Director of Trading and a member of the Executive Committee he has responsibility for the development and integrity of the Irish Stock Exchange’s markets for traded securities. He also has responsibility for the management of the relationships with strategic partners for trading, clearing and settlement, as well as for the Exchange’s IT strategy. He is Chairman of the cross-industry Irish Market Advisory Committee and is also Chairman of the Dematerialisation Implementation Group which is taking a lead role in advocating the full dematerialisation of Irish equities. He is a director of the Irish Investor Compensation Company. He has been an active participant on behalf of Ireland’s capital markets in the development of securities law in the European Union, particularly in relation to the Market Abuse Directive and as a member of the CESR Consultative Panel on the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive. Brian’s graduate and postgraduate studies were in the areas of Economics and Finance. He is a fellow of the Irish Institute of Chartered Accountants and a member of the Securities Institute.

Jan-Michiel Hessels is currently Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Euronext. He is also on the Board of Heineken, Royal Philips Electronics, and Fortis. After trainee ships with banks in London and Geneva, Mr Hessels started his career with McKinsey & Co in New York and Amsterdam. Thereafter he worked for the chemical group Akzo in Brasil and the USA, and most recently he served during 10 years as CEO of the large retail company Vendex. Mr Hessels studied at the University of Leiden, the London School of Economics, and the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kevin Houstoun is a consultant for HSBC, and Co-Chair of the FPL Global Technical Committee. Kevin started his career as an audit trainee for KPMG, after which he became an independent consultant and worked as part of the team that acquired the magnetic separation business of Cryogenic Consultants Limited from receivership. In 1996 Kevin joined Robert Fleming, and wrote a FIX engine for their Asset Management business, which the company gave away to help others learn about FIX. Since then Kevin has continued to work within the electronic trading environment spending 5 years with Salomon Brothers before pursuing his current position.

Peter Koster has been active in the trading and banking environments for more than 15 years in senior management, most recently as Chief Executive Officer at Fortis Bank U.K. Peter has built up an impressive track record in both managing business start ups and developing trading and clearing member organisations. With a strong background in managing large integration process projects, Peter’s high profile assignments have included involvement in the transformation of key exchanges, such as LIFFE, from open outcry to full automation. Per Larsson, Chief Executive Officer, Dubai International Financial Exchange (Dubai)
Mr Larsson became Chief Executive Officer in July 2006. From 1996-2003 he was President and Chief Executive of the Sweden-based OMX (the former OM Group and owner and operator of several Nordic exchanges and clearing houses). At OMX he led successful mergers with the Stockholm Stock Exchange and Helsinki Exchanges. Earlier he was President of OM Stockholm, the Group’s derivatives arm. Since leaving OMX, Mr Larsson has held a number of senior positions including Executive Chairman of Outsourced Supply Management AB and Executive Chairman of label specialist Nilorn AB. He has also been a Director of ORC Software AB, a Director of the biotechnology company Appeartex and Acting Regional Director, Northern Europe, of the communications management group Observer AB.

Mr Russell Loubser, CEO, JSE
Russell Loubser joined the JSE Limited as Executive President designate on 1 January 1997 and assumed office as Executive President on 1 February 1997. After the restructuring of the JSE in December 2000, Russell became the JSE’s CEO. As CEO, Russell has been responsible for the fundamental strategic repositioning of the JSE, including its pioneering agreements with the London Stock Exchange and FTSE as well as the acquisition of the South African Futures Exchange (SAFEX) by the JSE. Up until his appointment at the JSE in 1997, he was Executive Director of financial markets at Rand Merchant Bank Limited (RMB). He joined RMB from Finansbank Limited in 1985 where he remained, except for an absence of fourteen months. During 1987, he was part of the team which started the futures industry in South Africa. He was Chairman of SAFEX for 2 years and Deputy Chairman for 1 year. Prior to his career in merchant banking, Russell qualified as a Chartered Accountant (South Africa) in 1982 while with Arthur Andersen & Co, and obtained a Mcom in Statistics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Russell is an Extraordinary Professor in Mercantile Law at the Univsersity of Pretoria. Russell is a member of the King Committee on Corporate Governance and the Policy Board for Financial Services and Regulation. Russell also serves on the Board of Directors of the World Federation of Exchanges. Russell was Chairman of the World Federation of Exchanges’ Working Committee from October 2002 to October 2004. Russell is a keen sportsman. He played hockey and squash at senior provincial level, and also represented South African Universities at hockey. He has completed many standard marathons, including the Comrades and Two Oceans ultra-marathons. Now he prefers cycling and has completed the Argus 17 times. Apart from cycling and snow-skiing, Russell plays golf and tennis, and has rekindled an earlier passion – motorcycling. He is married to Alma and has a son Mark and a daughter Carine.

Nondas Metaxas, Director General & Chief Executive Officer, Cyprus Stock Exchange
Nondas Cl. Metaxas is the Director General and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Cyprus Stock Exchange since CSE’s official launching. Nondas was Head of the Over-The Counter Stock Exchange of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1979-1985) and Member of the first Council of the Cyprus Stock Exchange (1993-1995). He was also teaching Finance at the University of Cyprus (Academic Associate). Nondas is a Member of the Audit Committee and of the Working Committee of the FESE (Federation of the European Securities Exchanges) and also of the Working Committee of WFE (World Federation of Exchanges). He also served as a member in a number of Boards and Committees including the Export Award Council, the Advisory Council on Tertiary Education, Risk Management Committee – University of Cyprus, Corporate Governance Advisory Committee. Nondas has also written a number of articles on Capital Market Issues, on Marketing and on Export Promotion.

Philippe Metoudi joined Clearstream on June 1, 1992 and is presently Director of Customer Relations for Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa. His current responsibilities include the implementation of the strategy in the region through Clearstream Banking's regional offices in Hong Kong and Dubai.
During his time with Clearstream Banking, Philippe has been in close contact with Asian central banks and regulators to improve the efficiency of regional clearing systems. In 1993, he was also a member of a planning group, sponsored by the Asian Development Bank, to develop guidelines for clearing and settlement in Asia.
Previously, Philippe was a money manager with American Express Bank, working in Geneva, New York and Hong Kong. His last position with American Express Bank was as Director of the Investment Department.

Mr Yusli Mohamed Yusoff, a Malaysian, aged 47 years’ old, is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia Berhad and a Board Member of its group of companies. He also sits on the Malaysian Capital Market Development Fund Board. Prior to the Bursa Malaysia appointment, he was Chief Executive Officer/Director of CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd and Chairman of the Association of Stockbroking Companies Malaysia. An Economics graduate from University of Essex, Britain, and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, The Malaysian Institute of Accountants, The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Honorary Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Malaysia. He has over 20 years’ experience in financial management, risk management and general management. He began his career in London with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co in 1982. His career in Malaysia includes key positions in a number of public listed and private companies, whose activities spanned property and infrastructure development, telecommunications, engineering and merchant banking.

Mario Nava (Milan, 1966) holds a first degree in economics from Bocconi University (1989), an MA from the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium (1992) and a PhD in Public Finance from the London School of Economics (1996).
Since May, 1st 2004 he is the Head of the “Financial Market Infrastructure” Unit. This Unit is responsible for ensuring a proper conception and implementation of the regulatory environment for the post-trading area of the EU Financial Markets. Before this appointment he has been a member of the Group of Policy Advisers of the EU Commission President, Prof. Romano Prodi (01-04). Within the Group he was responsible for economic matters in general and in particular the EU budget and economic policy coordination between the Member States.
Before joining the Group of Policy Advisers, he worked first for the Commission's Taxation Department (94-96), then for the Budget Department (96-00), and then in the Cabinet of the Competition Commissioner, Prof. Mario Monti (00-01).
Alongside his work at the Commission he is active in research and teaching. Since 1998 he has been visiting professor at Milan's Bocconi University and a member of the Economic Faculty of ISPI, Milan (Diplomatic School of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and occasional lecturer in many universities across Europe. From 1995 to 1999 he was visiting professor at the Universidad de Belgrano (Buenos Aires) and the Universidad de Cuyo (Mendoza). From 1993 to 1994 he was junior professor at the London School of Economics and visiting professor at the State University of Moscow and St. Petersburg (Russia).

Árpád Pál is an economist and senior university lecturer. He began his career in 1992 at Banker Capital Investment and Economic Consultancy Kft., where later he directed the Corporate Finance branch. From 1996 he was the managing director of Budapest Bank acquired by GE Capital, where he was in charge of crisis management and sales of the bank’s qualified assets. From 1997 he joined the Central and Eastern European private equity fund of CROESUS fund group as a partner. In 2002 he was advisor to the CEO of Postabank which stood before privatisation and his mandate was extended by ERSTE Bank which later acquired Postabank. From 1993 he taught at the Budapest Corvinus University, and from 2005 he has taught the subjects of Company Valuation and Company Finance as a senior lecturer of the same institution.

Rainer Riess is Member of the Management Board of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and Managing Director Stock Market Business Development at Deutsche Börse. He is responsible for sales and marketing, product design and issuer relations of all cash market activities of Deutsche Börse AG, comprising of the electronic trading system Xetra® and the floor of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Currently, more than 250 member institutions from 18 countries use the Xetra system. Altogether, the cash market of Deutsche Börse comprises of more than 110,000 stocks, bonds, exchange-traded and actively managed funds, certificates and warrants. His past experience within Deutsche Börse Group has included managing the Primary Markets department for all listing business, creating the Neuer Markt and shaping the development of the German and European equity market and its regulatory structure. He worked on several product innovations and introductions such as the Xetra trading system, the exchange-traded funds business (XTF® segment), the introduction of the Equity CCP and enhancements of the specialist trading functionalities. Mr Lamon Rutten, Joint Managing Director, Multi Commodity Exchange of India
Lamon Rutten joined the Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) as Joint Managing Director in May 2006. MCX is India’s largest commodity exchange, with a daily notional trading value that has grown to US$ 2.5 billion in less than 3 years, and is in the process of building an international presence. Prior to this, Lamon was Chief of commodity finance and risk management of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva – a job he started in 1990 and on which he spent most of his working life, with the exception of an interval in 2000-2001 when he was Senior Advisor in the World Bank in Washington DC. In UNCTAD, he managed among other things a programme to boost the use of structured finance in developing countries and a range of activities aimed at enabling and supporting the growth of commodity exchanges and commodity price risk management in these countries (India has been one of his key target countries since 1993). He has advised many governments, has published dozens of papers and articles on these issues, and has spoken at over a hundred conferences worldwide. Prior to UNCTAD, Lamon worked in Mali and Indonesia. He has a M.A. in International Economic Management, with honours, at Tilburg University, The Netherlands (1986).

Before joining RTS Oleg Safonov worked as Deputy Director of Unikombank regional office, then headed the depositary of Western-European investment bank, served as Deputy Chairman of the Board of Souzaviakosmos and Orgres-Bank. In the course of his career, Mr Sobolewski worked at the Law and Administration Faculty of the Jagiellonian University (1989-1995), in the Office of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Poland (1992-1993) and as an Advisor to the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (1994). From 1994 to 2006 Mr Sobolewski was the Executive Vice President of the Management Board of the National Depository for Securities. As of June 28, 2006 - President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Management Board. As of June the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the National Depository for Securities. Former Arbitrator at the Warsaw Stock Exchange Court and at the Court of Arbitration of the National Depository for Securities. Worked with the Bureau of the Government Plenipotentiary for Pension System Reform (1997-1998). Expert of many Sejm (Parliament) and Senate commissions. Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Exchange Centre. From 1997 to 2002 Associate at the Faculty of Management of the Warsaw University (Civil Law Issues in Management Department). From 2005 the Executive MBA lecturer in Legal Aspects of Managerial Decisions (a joint program run by the Universities of Warsaw and Illinois). From 2005, Member of the European Commission's Legal Certainty Group. From 2006, President of the Association of Polish Lawyers. Mr Hannes Takacs, Managing Partner, CAPMEX
Mr. Takacs is Managing Partner of CAPMEX –The Capital Market Experts, a company specialised on capital market development. Until the end of January 2003 he was Director Consulting & International Projects at the Vienna Exchange, where he headed the profit centre for consulting & international development. In his more than fifteen years of experience Hannes has been actively involved in a great variety of projects related to financial market development, exchange management and SME financing in emerging markets. Before his assignment as head of the exchange’s consulting division he was head of the exchange academy of the Austrian Futures & Options Exchange as well as of the Stock Exchange. Hands-on Experience as Manager and Financial Markets Expert As project director Mr. Takacs designed and managed a number of financial market projects all over the world. He also acted as project director for the initiative of the European Union to restructure the Russian financial market after the crisis in 1998, where he led a team of 15 long-term and more than 50 short-term experts over a period of three years and advised Russian exchanges, investment banks, financial institutions, clearing houses, regulatory authorities and companies. In 1998 Mr. Takacs was managing the implementation of Athens Derivatives Exchange as well as of the Derivatives Clearing House in Greece. Furthermore, he drafted various feasibility studies for the implementation of derivatives exchanges and was member of the project team for the implementation of the Austrian Futures and Options Exchange in Austria. Currently, he is working on a Meta Exchange and Clearing House concept which inquires into the possibility to create a regional exchange and clearing hub to integrate fragmented capital markets without loosing the identity of the local exchanges under the perspective of the different currency regimes. Experience in Designing, Monitoring and Management of Technical Assistance Based on his involvement in the design, monitoring and management of various financial sector projects he has a profound knowledge of the logical framework methodology used by most of the international finance institutions, project monitoring techniques and theoretical as well as practical aspects of project management. Mr. Takacs has a profound knowledge of financial sector development, technical assistance programmes, privatisation and access to financing for SMEs. Extensive Network and International Working Experience Mr. Takacs disposes of an extensive network in the financial sector, especially to exchanges, investment banks, clearing/settlement institutions and institutional investors as well as to governments and regulatory authorities, especially in emerging markets. Furthermore, he has had significant working experience with multilateral donor agencies, e.g. European Union, the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank Group, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Hannes holds a master degree from the University of Leicester, UK.

Mr Anso Thiré, Managing Director, Corporate Strategy, Euroclear
Anso Thiré, Managing Director, is head of the Strategy and Public Affairs division at Euroclear SA/NV and a member of the Euroclear Group Management Team. Within his division, the Strategy team analyses market trends, threats and opportunities for the Euroclear group and makes recommendations on Euroclear’s future strategic direction. The Public Affairs team interfaces with and lobbies third parties, such as the ECB and other European institutions. Mr. Thiré joined Euroclear in 1985 as a business analyst. In 1987, he became Financial Accounting Manager, with responsibility for management reporting and profitability analysis. He then moved to Euroclear’s Commercial division, where he was head of the team of sales and relationship managers. In 2002, Mr. Thiré took up his current position.

Ken Tregidgo, Global Head of Strategy, AEMS
Prior to AEMS, Ken was with the Instinet Group for five years. His roles there included Chief Operating Officer for Instinet International, Chief Operating Officer for Instinet Europe, Head of Strategy and Planning for Instinet Group, Chief of Staff to the Office of the CEO and Head of Strategy, Planning and Architecture for Instinet Global Equities.
From 1995 to 2000, Ken was in similarly strategic positions with Merrill Lynch as Head of Architecture for the Corporate and Institutional Client Group, and Head of Global Derivatives Technology. In the former role, Ken developed complete front-to-back technology, process and data architectures for the global equity and debt businesses.
