The Middle East has awoken to the potential of rail

Rail Infrastructure Middle East 2007 is the region's leading rail conference, designed to provide valuable insights into Middle Eastern rail infrastructure - what is driving this booming industry, updates on current and future projects, and what challenges are being faced.

Ambitious projects are changing the face of the regional industry. In the freight, passenger and metro sectors rail transport will never be the same again.

A place to learn, network and create new business

Saudi Arabia has the most ambitious plans. The Landbridge project is the key development in the huge Saudi Railways Expansion Programme, an ambitious multibillion riyal project that will transform the Kingdom’s rail network into a world class freight and passenger system.

Away from the Kingdom the first phase of the new Dubai Metro, with 70km of lines and 42 stations, is expected to be completed by 2009. It is envisaged the Abu Dhabi Metro will be linked to the Dubai Metro to provide a vital link and ensure smooth travel for metro users between the two emirates.

While across North Africa governments are looking to modernise and to develop their existing infrastructure.

    Meet new customers

For the rail industry the Middle East is one of the boom regions of the world. Governments know modern transport systems will help realise the potential of their countries and are putting exciting plans in place.

The MENA region is about to experience an explosion of rail projects presenting fantastic opportunities for those with expert knowledge.
