2005 conference review
Overview
The conference had an outstanding reception this year. The pre-conference workshop run by Bank Leu was a great success, with around 25 delegates in attendance. More than 280 attendees signed up for the main two day event, with a high representation from Hedge Funds, Funds of Funds and Private Banks.
Programme and speakers
The programme had been re-designed from last year to make it even more relevant for local hedge fund players. Some of the most popular themes covered were:
- Developments of the Swiss hedge funds industry
- Hedge funds for long term capital management – a buy-side perspective
- Examining the variety of strategies used to generate alpha
- Funds of hedge funds – will they match investor expectations?
- Hedge fund risk – the need for innovative risk management
- Hedge funds in the ALM process of an insurance life company
- The voice of hedge funds and private banks/private client advisories
We had 40 speakers this year and they were particularly well rated, with more than ever receiving an average of 4 or higher out of 5 as rated on the feedback forms.
