Mr C.Y. Leung is Chairman of DTZ Debenham Tie Leung Asia, a leading property services company. The Company has 194 offices in 39 countries, employing an office staff of over 9,000 people worldwide. He is a past Chairman of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and past President of the Institute of Surveyors in Hong Kong. He is also a trustee, Executive Committee member and Chairman of Asia of the Urban Land Institute.

In 1997, he was awarded the degree of Hon Doctor of Business Administration by University of the West of England. In 1998, he was awarded a similar degree by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Mr Leung actively contributed to the development of a framework for land-use policies and real estate development in the mainland of China since 1978. In 1980, he was officially appointed as an adviser to the land and housing reform committees of the governments in Shanghai, Tianjin and Shenzhen. In 1988, shortly after the amendment of the Chinese Constitution, he assisted the Shanghai Government in selling the first land use right since 1949.

Mr Leung was extensively involved in the establishment of Hong Kong as a Special Administrative Region. He was Secretary General of the Basic Law Consultative Committee (1988-90), Leader of the Political Sub-Group of the Preliminary Working Committee (1993-95), Vice Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for HKSAR (1996-97) and Member of the Provisional Legislative Council (1997-98).

Since 1997, Mr Leung has been a member of the Executive Council of Hong Kong and is currently the Convenor. In 2003, he was elected a member of the National Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He is a founder and the Chairman of the Hong Kong Coalition of Professional Services and Chairman of the One Country Two Systems Research Institute.

David Faulkner has over 25 years of experience in the real estate field and has worked in Hong Kong for over 20 years. Mr Mark Fogle,

Mr. Fogle is Managing Director of AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp., the real estate arm of American International Group (AIG) as well as a Senior Vice President with American International Assurance Company (Bermuda) Limited.

In this capacity, Mr. Fogle is responsible for AIG Real Estate’s expansion into markets such as China, India and Korea with a particular focus on the development of large-scale projects as well as assisting the firm in growing its’ Fund Management business in Asia.

Between 1997 and 2003, Mr. Fogle spearheaded AIG Real Estate’s initial expansion efforts into regional activities, which included finance, development and equity investing as well as asset and fund management. During that period AIG Real Estate grew to be one of the largest real estate investors in Asia, placing proprietary funds of its’ affiliates as well as investing capital on behalf of the firm’s first Asian property fund.

Prior to joining AIG in 1997, Mr. Fogle spent five years in Asia, where he was responsible for the international expansion of a U.S. development and service firm, opening offices in major Asian metropolitan cities including Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul and Singapore. Mr. Fogle first began working in Asia when he assisted his former company, USAA Real Estate, in the structuring of a Japan-based private REIT for U.S. properties in 1989.

John Lien has 12 years of real estate experience in China and has been based in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. He is a professor of real estate at the University of Economics and International Business in Beijing. John was recently named by China Real Estate magazine as a top 40 real estate executive amongst the CEOs of top real estate companies.


Mr Ming Yan Lim,

Mr. Lim is the CEO of CapitaLand China Holdings and has held this position since 2000.
Under his leadership, CapitaLand China Holdings has made outstanding achievements in both residential and commercial developments and is now widely recognised as one of the top three foreign investors and developers in Shanghai. Since 2000, the company’s revenue has increased three-fold and its earnings have grown steadily. As a result, CapitaLand China now contributes substantially to the Group’s earnings. Mr Lim has also successfully expanded CapitaLand China’s operations beyond Shanghai into Beijing and Guangzhou.

For his excellent work and contribution to Shanghai’s development, Mr. Lim was awarded the prestigious “Commemorative Magnolia Award” by Shanghai People’s Government in 2003. In the same year, the Huangpu District Government of Shanghai also awarded Mr Lim the title “Foreign Investment Consultant of the Huangpu District” in recognition of his achievements.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr Lim was the Chief Corporate and Investment Officer of Somerset Holdings, Pidemco Land’s serviced residences arm. Mr. Lim played a key role in the acquisition of Liang Court Holdings, a company listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange, and its subsequent restructuring. Mr Lim was also responsible for expanding Somerset Holdings’ portfolio in Asia through strategic acquisitions and investments in various parts of Asia including China, Thailand and the Philippines. During the merger of DBS Land and Pidemco Land in 2000, Mr. Lim played a significant role in ensuring the business continuity of DBS Land and its subsequent restructuring into Capitaland after the merger.

Lim Yoon Peng has been the Chief Financial Officer of Axis REIT Managers since 16 May 2005. Daniel Ling joined the Listings Department of Singapore Exchange (SGX) in August 2003. His primary responsibility is developing and maintaining a pipeline of high quality listing candidates from Grater China. Daniel graduated with Honors from University of Chicago’s MBA program in 2002, and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College in the United States. Michael McCook was appointed as Senior Investment Officer of Real Estate with the California Public Employees’ Retirement System in March of 2001. CalPERS is the nation’s largest public pension fund. Mr. Parker was formerly based in Tokyo where he oversaw Morgan Stanley Real Estate’s retail investment and management businesses in Asia.

Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Parker was an executive with leading Australian firms, Lend Lease and Macquarie Bank in Asia.

Mr. Parker is a well known industry figure throughout Asia Pacific. Over the last ten years, Mr. Parker has led businesses in China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and Indonesia.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws. He is a member of the International Real Estate Institute, the International Council of Shopping Centers, and a Board member of the Asia Public Real Estate Association.

Mr. Peterson is an Executive Director of Morgan Stanley Asia. His primary responsibilities are property-related investments for The Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds (“MSREF”) in non-Japan Asia. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Peterson worked for four years for JPMorgan Chase in their Real Estate Investment Banking Group where he advised on real estate-related mergers, acquisitions, financings and divestitures for the firm’s clients around Asia. Mr. Peterson also has four years of real estate development and property management experience, principally in China. Mr. Peterson holds a BA in Economics and Asian Studies from Cornell University and an MBA in Analytical Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Soon Su Lin heads the Investment Properties Business Line in Asia at CB Richard Ellis and is based in Singapore. CB Richard Ellis’ Investment Properties team is the market leader in investment sales. Working as a fully integrated team, the Investment Properties team in Asia comprises more than 45 professionals in 17 cities across Asia. She also oversees the Singapore CBRE Research team. Ms Soon manages the activities of both teams, including business development, service delivery and client management. In her last 15 years with the company, she has been responsible for the successful leasing and sale of many prominent buildings and development sites in Singapore and the region.

Ms Soon joined the CB Richard Ellis Investment Team in 1995, after spending 6 years in commercial agency and has since been responsible for the sale of many premium commercial and industrial buildings, and major development sites, including the latest sale of Scotts Shopping Mall & The Ascott Serviced Apartments, Capital Square, Lot 1 Shoppers’ Mall, Parkway Parade, DBS Securities Bldg and AIA Tampines. In 2002, she was given the role of spearheading the Investment Properties Business Line for Asia, establishing best practices, promoting cross-border investment deals and servicing institutional investors across Asia. Ms Soon also heads the CBRE Research Department in the Singapore office. Since 1995, she has been involved in overseeing the company’s research publications, feasibility and planning studies in Singapore and the region.

Zheng graduated from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute (USA) in 1986 with a professional degree in Architecture. He had 15 years of real estate related experience in USA, Singapore and Hong Kong before he relocated to China in year 2000.

Zheng serves on the board of the expert committee of the China Commercial Real Estate Union. He is visiting professor of the China Urban Institute and visiting lecturer of the China Executive Leadership Academy where aspiring city mayors practice development theory.

Dr. Youguo Liang is the Managing Director of Investment Research and a member of the Investment Committee and Management Committee of Prudential Real Estate Investors. He earned his PhD in finance from the University of Kentucky and M.A. in management and B.S. in operations research from the University of Science and Technology of China. Dr. Liang is a CFA charter holder, a Weimer School fellow at the Homer Hoyt Institute, a fellow of the Real Estate Research Institute, and the past president of the American Real Estate Society. Prior to joining Prudential, Dr. Liang was a Senior Vice President at Lend Lease Real Estate Investments and Head of Research at the Yarmouth Group, Inc.

Dr. Liang has published more than 80 research manuscripts in both academic and industry journals. He has authored papers for academic journals such as Real Estate Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Research, The Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management and The Journal of Financial Research. In addition to academic publications, he regularly writes articles and commentaries for influential industry newsletters and journals such as The Institutional Real Estate Letter, Real Estate Finance and Pension Real Estate Quarterly. Many of Liang’s research publications have won awards and been abstracted in The CFA Digest and PREA Research Review.

Currently Dr. Liang is the international editor of Real Estate Finance. He served as the managing editor of The Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management and the special issue editor of The Journal of Real Estate Research. He is a member of editorial boards of several academic journals and trade publications. In 1997, Dr. Liang won the prestigious Postdoctoral Scholar Award sponsored by the Homer Hoyt Advanced Studies Institute in Real Estate and Land Economics.
