Mr Mark Baillie, Head of Real Estate, Europe and North America, Macquarie Bank Limited
Mark is an Executive Director of Macquarie Bank Limited and is based in London, UK as Macquarie’s Head of Real Estate, Europe and North America. Prior to his relocation to London, Mark spent five years in Chicago where he developed Macquarie’s real estate platform to in excess of $10 billion in North American real estate assets under management in joint venture with its partners, such as Regency Centers, ProLogis and Developers Diversified Realty.
Mark is Chairman of the Association of Foreign Investors in Real Estate (AFIRE) and a member of the Real Estate Round Table (RER) in the US. He was formerly a Director of the Property Council of Australia and a Member of the Shopping Centre Council of Australia. Mark has over 24 years experience in chartered accounting, investment banking and global real estate funds management. He has a BComm (UNSW) and is a Member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Stuart Beevor, Group Fund Management Director, Grosvenor
Stuart Beevor is Managing Director of Grosvenor Fund Management and a Director of Grosvenor Group Limited, the international property group, which he joined in 2002. Prior to joining Grosvenor he was Managing Director at Legal and General Property Limited having previously held a number of roles dealing with development, investment, property management and unitised funds at Norwich Union. Mr Beevor is a non executive Director of The UNITE Group Plc and is a Trustee of the Investment Property Forum Educational Trust.

Mr Simon Berrill, Chief Executive, DTZ Corporate Finance
Simon Berrill has had over 25 years experience working in the international real estate finance sector, in London and New York. After qualifying as a Barrister and obtaining an MBA from INSEAD, he opened the New York office of Michael Laurie & Partners 1980 and as a Director of the Morgan Grenfell group, Simon developed a specialist knowledge of hotels and leisure finance. From 1990 to 1995 he headed the European office of The O’Connor Group, and from 1995 to 2002 led his own firm. From 2002 to the present day Simon has worked as Chief Executive for DTZ Corporate Finance Ltd.

David Broadley, Partner, Allen & Overy
David has a wide experience of corporate finance work, including public and private M&A, advising on several acquisitions in the real estate sector including GE Capital/Hermes bid for MEPC and the public to private offer for Delancey Estates plc. He also has significant experience in equity capital markets transactions, advising both issuers and underwriters.

Mr Robin Caven, Chief Commercial Officer, Lend Lease Corporation
Robin was appointed Chief Commercial Officer for Lend Lease Europe in 2003, having joined the company in 1998 as a director in the Property Capital Group.
Robin joined the Lend Lease group from NatWest Markets, the investment banking arm of the National Westminster Bank Group, where he was Director in the Real Estate Investment Banking Group. His previous personal experience encompasses 13 years in both corporate advisory and debt arrangement roles.
Robin is an economics graduate from Cambridge University.

Mr Sam Dean, Co-Head of European Equity Capital Markets, Deutsche Bank
Sam is responsible for managing the origination and execution of all ECM transactions in Europe, including IPOs, privatisations, equity-linked, block trades and rights issues. In addition, Sam's team is responsible for the distribution of non-European deals to European institutional investors.
Sam was previously Head of Equity Syndicate in Europe for Deutsche Bank (2001-2004) before being promoted to his current role. Sam has more than 12 years direct experience in Equity Capital Markets, and was in the past Head of Syndicate at both Citigroup and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. In his career he has worked on more than 250 equity transactions.

Ben Eaton, Senior Associate, Allen & Overy
Ben specialises in corporate tax. His experience covers the establishment and operation of real estate funds and structures as well as real estate related matters generally. Ben also has wider experience in investment funds, corporate acquisitions and disposals, corporate reorganisations, bank lending, structured finance and securitisations. He has particular expertise in stamp duty land tax and associated planning techniques.

Mr Alasdair Evans, Director of Corporate Finance, Hermes
Alasdair is Corporate Finance Director of Hermes Real Estate where he is responsible for structuring, debt matters and indirect investment. Alasdair is also the Fund Director for X-Leisure. His previous career was with Coopers & Lybrand followed by two years seconded to HM Treasury’s Private Finance Panel, promoting PFI projects. Alasdair was then Finance Director of the property services provider Trillium (later Land Securities Trillium).

Professor John Glascock, Grosvenor Professor of Real Estate Finance, Department of Land Economy, Cambridge University
John is the Director of the Real Estate Finance MPhil Programme in the Department of Land Economy. The programme had zero students five years ago and now has 54 for the 2005-06 year—it is now the 3rd largest MPhil at Cambridge.
Previously he was the Oliver T. Carr, Jr., Professor of Real Estate Finance at George Washington University (and earlier the Louisiana Real Estate Commission Chair of Real Estate at Louisiana State University).

Mr Ian Hally, Head of Research, Scottish Widows Investment Partnership
Ian is an Investment Director and Head of Research in the property team. He also co-manages the SWIP European Real Estate Fund, a pan European OEIC which invests in real estate securities, including REITS.
He has responsibility for research and strategy issues in the UK and globally in the direct and indirect (including listed) property markets. Additional responsibilities include the development of fund strategy, bespoke market studies, portfolio modelling, risk analysis and research into new investment opportunities. He is a member of the property investment committee.
Before joining the group in 2001, Ian worked as an investment analyst for Foreign & Colonial and Property Market Analysis, a European property research house.
Ian holds a BSc (Hons) degree in agricultural economics from the University of Edinburgh and a postgraduate diploma in Land Economics from the University of Aberdeen. He qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1996. He has passed the CFA Level 1 examination and also holds the Investment Management Certificate.

Mr Stephen Herring, Partner, BDO Stoy Hayward
Stephen is a Tax Partner specialising in the real estate, construction & hospitality markets (aka property). Experience includes listed property companies, cross border real estate funds, in-bound and out-bound property investments by privately owned groups and individuals, Private Finance Initiative (PFI/PPP) projects, capital allowances and cost segregation.
Stephen has regularly advised real estate funds looking to secure investment from the general public in tax favoured sectors such as those qualifying for business asset taper relief and business property relief.

Mr Stephen Hester, CEO, British Land
Stephen Hester is Chief Executive of The British Land Company Plc, Europe’s second largest property company. He joined BL in November 2004 from Abbey National plc where he was Chief Operating Officer, having joined as Chief Financial Officer in May 2002. For the previous 19 years he was at Credit Suisse First Boston, rising through various appointments to become Co-head of European M&A and Investment Banking, then Chief Financial Officer and then Global Head of the Fixed Income Division based in both New York and London.

Mr Joe Houlihan, Managing Director, Houlihan Rovers (a Cohen & Steers affiliate)
W. Joseph Houlihan is a managing director of Houlihan Rovers (HR) and a member of the investment committee. He has over 28 years of experience. Prior to co-founding HR in 2000, Mr. Houlihan was a managing director for two and a half years at Security Capital Group in Brussels. Previously, he was an executive vice president and director at GIM Algemeen Vermogensbeheer, a Dutch investment management company, where he specialized in global real estate investments and developed GIM’s real estate securities investment process and client base. Mr. Houlihan has a BS degree from New York University and a MBA degree from the University of Leuven, Belgium. He is based in Brussels.

Mr Andrew Jackson, Investment Director, Standard Life Investments
Andrew is responsible for the management of Standard Life Investments’ Segregated Property Funds and its Property Research team. The 6 property funds each have dedicated fund managers and have combined assets under management in excess of £1 billion. The highly regarded Research team’s activities include forecasting UK & Eurozone property markets, portfolio analysis, market research and analysis, performance measurement, and monitoring of indirect property vehicles, including property derivatives. In addition, Andrew is instrumental in the development and implementation of new commercial property funds for Standard Life Investments and its clients.

Mr Chris Jolly, Managing Director – Corporate Finance, Jones Lang LaSalle
Chris Jolly is joint Managing Director responsible for management of the pan-European Corporate Finance activity at Jones Lang LaSalle. He has 25 years of experience of Investment Banking working for UK, European and Japanese institutions including spells of living and working in France and Japan. During this time he spent some ten years - including positions with Commerzbank, Daiwa Europe Bank, Société Générale and SG Warburg - specialising in real estate finance covering advisory, debt and equity capital markets and bank funding. Here he was involved with the financing and advising of companies and projects in the UK, Western Europe and Asia.

Professor Tony Key, Professor of Real Estate Economics, Cass Business School
Tony Key is Professor of Real Estate Economics at Cass Business School. The School houses the largest postgraduate real estate programme in Europe, with 250 students from 26 countries.
Through the past three years, Tony Key has undertaken research commissions for the British Property Federation, Capital Economics, Credit Suisse First Boston, Jones Lang LaSalle, Protego Real Estate Investors, Investment Property Databank, Occupiers Property Databank, Investment Property Forum, and Strutt & Parker.
Before joining Cass, Tony was Director of Research with Investment Property Databank from 1988 to 2002, and had previously worked at Property Market Analysis, the Centre for Environmental Studies, and the Northern Region Strategy Team.

Mr Jon Lekander, Head of Investment Strategy, Aberdeen Property Investors
Jon joined the group in January 1998, with a responsibility to develop quantitative methods for the real estate market. In this function, Jon has had responsibility for the strategic analysis in several direct assignment, as well as the responsibility of implementing a consistent investment process for real estate portfolio management, including asset return forecasting, market return forecasting and portfolio analysis. Jon is also responsible for setting up the international investment strategies for a number of clients. Having published a paper on the role of real estate in a multi asset portfolio context in the Journal of Alternative Investment, Jon also has an expertise in the strategic role of real estate. Jon has a Master of Science in Economics and a Bachelors Degree in Finance from the University of Stockholm, which included course work at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität in Münster, Germany.

Mr Adrian Levy, Corporate Finance Partner, Clifford Chance
Adrian has been a Partner in Clifford Chance since May 2001 specialising in corporate finance transaction, including mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers, strategic investments and joint ventures with a particular focus on the real estate sector. He acts for listed and unlisted property companies, financial institutions and real estate funds. Adrian is a member of the Clifford Chance UK REIT Group and is currently acting for a number of listed companies proposing to convert to a REIT.

Mr Gareth Lewis, Director (Finance and Investment), British Property Federation
Gareth is Director of Finance and Investment at the British Property Federation and has been closely involved in lobbying the UK government as part of the pan-industry group that has played a key role in shaping the UK REIT regime, due to commence in January 2007. Colin is Professor of Real Estate Finance in the University of Reading Business School and Head of Real Estate & Planning. He has worked in real estate for over twenty years. Colin’s principal research covers modelling of property investment, office markets and international real estate. He has carried out research for the European Union, the Treasury, the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister, the Home Office and a wide range of public and private sector clients. He has published widely in academic and professional journals and co-authored The Economics of Commercial Property Markets. In 2004 he was awarded the International Real Estate Society achievement award.

Mr Devin Murphy, Global Head of Real Estate Investment Banking, Deutsche Bank
Devin Murphy is responsible for running Deutsche Bank’s investment banking efforts for real estate, gaming, lodging and leisure globally.
Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Mr Murphy was a Managing Director for Morgan Stanley and was co-head of Morgan Stanley’s US real estate investment banking efforts.

Ben Sanderson, Director Property Research, PruPIM
Ben Sanderson leads PruPIM's view formation and strategy team for the Prudential's £17 billion investment in UK property markets and is responsible for research and strategy in Europe and the Asia Pacific region for PruPIM's £1.5 billion international investment programme. His work provides insights for strategy and inputs into the position of property within the Prudential's multi-asset allocation process. Prior to joining Prudential in January 2003, Ben had over a decade of business and academic experience as an economist and property researcher, most recently leading the Japanese research team for Jones Lang LaSalle based in Tokyo. Prior to that Ben was Jones Lang LaSalle's senior European economist based in London as part of the European research group. He is a member of the Investment Property Forum (IPF) and is module leader for the IPF's Advanced Education Programme module on "International Real Estate Investment". Ben is Vice-Chairman of the UK Society of Property Researchers and a member of the UK Society of Business Economists. Ben has BA and Masters degrees in economics and holds the UK Society of Investment Professional's Investment Management Certificate. In 2005 Ben was appointed as an external examiner at the University of Reading, England on the BSc degree programmes for Investment and Finance in Property.

Andrew Stainer, Co-Head of European Real Estate Investment Banking, Deutsche Bank
Andrew joined the firm in May 2005. Before joining Deutsche Bank, Mr Stainer spent 10 years at JPMorgan, most recently leading JPMorgan's Principal Finance Group, acquiring portfolios of non-performing real estate loans in Germany and central Europe. Prior to that, Mr Stainer was a member of JPMorgan's Real Estate Investment Banking and Real Estate Structured Finance teams.

Mr Hans Stamm, Partner, Clifford Chance
Hans is a Partner in the Munich office of Clifford Chance since 2000. He predominantly works in the areas of tax structured finance, private funds/structured products (Alternative Investments) and international tax law.

Mr Jeremy Stewardson, Chief Executive Officer, N/A, Eagle Asset Management Limited
Jeremy has over 28 years of experience in the International Commercial Property Industry. Prior to joining the Manager, he was a property consultant involved in various projects in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Bangkok and Macau.
He previously worked for Jones Lang Wootton and Jones Lang LaSalle for 23 years, starting work in Hong Kong in 1978. His postings included London, Frankfurt, Berlin and Bangkok – he was predominently responsible to a multi-national client base and schemes where he was involved full time in the development marketing and management process included Canary Wharf (London), Potsdamer Platz (Berlin), Exchange Square and Harbour City (Hong Kong).
Stewardson is a fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Dr Sotiris Tsolacos, Director of European Research, Property & Portfolio Research
Dr. Tsolacos will assume the role of Director of European Research effective September 1, 2006, in PPR’s London office.

Having managed a successful investment research unit at Jones Lang LaSalle for the past seven years, Dr. Tsolacos has extensive experience in real estate strategy development and implementation. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Reading in 1995 and held a position there as a lecturer in macroeconomics, real estate economics, and applied econometrics in property markets. Dr. Tsolacos has contributed to numerous real estate-related publications in the European arena as well.

Mr Craig Turnbull, Head of Real Estate Securities, MacarthurCook
Craig has worked in the funds management industry since 1982 when he joined Bankers Trust as Assistant Economist. Over 15 years with Bankers Trust he held a variety of roles including being a member of the Asset Allocation Committee and involvement in the management of balanced, property securities and international equity funds. In 1993 he was appointed Head of International Equities. Craig joined Tower Asset Management in 1997 as Chief Investment Officer and in this role was responsible for the management of $8 billion of assets which included Australian and international equities and property securities mandates. In 2001 he joined hedge fund manager Vertex Capital as Investment Director.
Craig has a Bachelor of Economics(Honours) from the University of Sydney and is an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia.

Mr Andrew Weaver, Partner, Appleby Hunter Bailhache
Andrew Weaver specialises in real estate, hedge and private equity funds, as well as general regulatory matters and corporate work. He advises leading fund managers, advisors and financial institutions in the UK, Europe and the USA, as well as in the Middle East and Asia. In addition, Andrew works closely with fund managers and administrators, trust companies and custodians in Jersey, Dublin, Luxembourg, Switzerland and the Cayman Islands.
Before joining Bailhache Labesse, subsequently Appleby Hunter Bailhache, Andrew worked for Ogier in Jersey and Appleby Spurling & Hunter in the Cayman Islands, where he built up his experience and knowledge of funds work. Prior to this, he was a lawyer with Simmons & Simmons in the City. Andrew qualified as an English Solicitor in 1993, an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands in 1999 and re-qualified as a Jersey Advocate in 2003.

Ralph Wood, Director of Fund Management, AXA REIM
Ralph was educated in Enfield and at the Sussex University, where he gained an Honours Degree in History.
Ralph was appointed Director of Fund Management within AXA Real Estate Investment Managers in 2002 , with specific responsibilities for pan European real estate vehicles, including a large industrial fund ( current value circa € 575 million ) and several smaller separate account mandates.
Ralph has over 28 years experience of commercial property in the UK, across all sectors and more recently across Europe.
He commenced his career with the National Freight Corporation, before joining Equity & Law, where he qualified as a Chartered Surveyor, and fulfilled several professional, investment, and managerial roles.
In 1994 he established an in house Property Research function for AXA Equity & Law Investment Managers. Following the merger with Sun Life and Provincial holdings in 1997, Ralph was appointed Head of Strategy at AXA Sun Life Properties.
