Mr Michael Anderson, CEO, Austereo
Michael Anderson is Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Austereo Group Ltd, Australia’s leading radio network.
Michael has a distinguished career in radio, spanning more than fourteen years. He joined Austereo in 1990 as Sales Director of FOXFM in Melbourne, moving to Sydney in 1991 to head up the Group’s sales operations.
Michael was appointed COO in May 2003 and CEO in August 2003.
Michael has served on the Austereo Board of Directors since 1996 and is also currently the Chairman of Commercial Radio Australia-the national radio industry body.

Mr Neale Anderson, Director of Research-Asia Pacific, Ovum
Neale Anderson is Director of Asia-Pacific research at Ovum. Based in Melbourne, Australia, he manages a team of analysts and associate partners across the region. In addition to his management responsibilities, Neale is a Principal Analyst with a particular focus on the wireless industry. Fluent in Japanese, he has written extensively on the Japanese mobile sector, and is an expert on the lessons other markets can learn from advanced markets such as Japan. This has included detailed analysis of the i-Mode and Vodafone Live! business models, both in Japan and Europe. His specific areas of expertise include 3G and the wireless infrastructure and terminal markets. He has led several research programs assessing 3G business models in both Europe and Asia, and was lead author of the Ovum report ‘3: Brave New World’). He has also focused on the device and infrastructure strategy and plans of the major telecoms equipment vendors. Prior to moving to Australia, Neale was Service Manager of the Mobile@Ovum advisory service. A core Ovum offering, the service provides strategic advice to over 60 clients worldwide, including mobile operators, equipment vendors, and consultancies. Based in Ovum’s headquarters in London, he managed a global team, with analysts based in Seoul, Melbourne, Boston and London. Prior to joining Ovum, Neale worked for Icom Publishing, Centaur Communications and the Japanese Ministry of Education. He has a Bachelor degree from Oxford University and an MA in Advanced Japanese Studies from Sheffield University.

Mr Eric Beecher, CEO, Crikey
Eric Beecher started his career in newspapers as a reporter on The Age, The Sunday Times and The Observer in London. In 1984, at age 33, he became the youngest editor of the Sydney Morning Herald, and in 1987 was appointed editor-in-chief of the Herald and Weekly Times newspaper group. In 1990 he became a founder and major shareholder in The Text Media Group, where he was Chief Executive Officer until 2002. In 2003 he formed Private Media Partners with Diana Gribble and launched The Reader magazine. In February 2005, Private Media acquired Crikey.com.au. He is currently working as publisher of Crikey.

Mr Simon Bond, Regional Head of International Clients & Business Development Director, Proximity (interactive arm of BBDO), Singapore
Simon Bond is the head of international clients and the regional business development director for Proximity across Asia Pacific. Simon started his stint in Asia as the GM for Proximity Singapore and in one year grew the agency from one person to 25 and established a strong international client list comprising of Pepsi, Masterfoods, Visa, Mitsubishi, FedEx and Tiger Beer. He also played an integral part in setting offices in Hong Kong, China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines. Now Simon is responsible to grow and develop the Proximity network and international client base across the region
Previous to this job Simon worked with Ketchum and Proximity in Paris and London for 3 years where he helped set up their interactive capabilities across Europe and post this stint in Europe moved into the role of regional business development director for Middle East & North Africa. In 3 years Simon set up 5 offices in Dubai, Saudi, Beirut and Egypt and grew Proximity in this region to the largest and most awarded network and worked with clients like Emirates Airline, Pepsi, Masterfoods, Hilton, Daimler Chrysler, adidas and Siemens Mobile.
Simon contributes to the advertising industry in Asia and Middle East by continuously speaking at industry conferences and writing articles in leading trade journals and is on the board of several universities in Singapore helping establish digital education programs for upcoming talent. In addition to his business interests, Simon is also a very keen sportsman regularly taking part in triathlons and running marathons but also enjoys the easy life of the golf course and ski slopes.

Mr Domenic Carosa, CEO, Destra
Domenic Carosa is the CEO of destra Corporation, a digital media company he co-founded in 1993 and listed on the Australian stock exchange in May 2000. Destra is the largest independent digital media company and largest independent record company in Australia. Destra’s MP3 Music Network, which includes MP3.com.au, launched in 1999 and is one of the leading global sites for independent music, receiving over 18 million downloads and streams since launch. Under Domenic’s leadership, destra launched Australia’s first legal music download service - destramusic.com. and has partnerships with major record companies including Sony, EMI and FMR. Destra also incorporates leading independent record label Rajon and newly acquired traditional content distributors Payless Entertainment and the Visual Entertainment Group.
Domenic is an IIA (Internet Industry Association) board member and Chairman of the IIA Digital Music Taskforce. In 2005, destra was ranked 31 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 and in March 2006, MP3.com.au won the prestigious Hitwise Online Performance Award for the most popular website in the Entertainment-Multimedia category.

Mr Tony Faure, CEO, Ninemsn
Tony Faure joined ninemsn in August 2006 bringing with him more than twenty years experience in both traditional and new media industries. He began his career in business magazine publishing and in 1997 became the first employee and General Manager of Yahoo! Australia and NZ. Tony was appointed Yahoo! Regional Vice President, South Asia in 2001 and then left the company in 2002 to pursue other investment opportunities in Australia. Since 2002 he has been an active promoter of early-stage internet companies, founding online DVD rental company HomeScreen Entertainment in 2003, which was sold to the listed Quickflix in 2005. He has served as an advisor to the boards of both Seek.com.au and online advertising company, One Digital. Tony lives in Sydney with his wife Camille and four children. When he occasionally has time not spent working or with family he loves to run, watch great movies and flip through his CD collection.

Mr Paul Fisher, National Sales Director, News Digital Media
Paul Fisher is the national sales director of News Interactive, Australia’s second largest online publisher. Mr Fisher joined News Interactive as head of integration in June 2005 and was appointed sales director in February 2006.
Mr Fisher is responsible for driving display sales revenue across News Interactive leading websites and brands, including NEWS.com.au, FOXSPORTS.com.au, myspace.com, ign.com, careerone.com.au, carsguide.com.au, homesite.com.au, truelocal.com.au, in2mobi.com.au and escape.com.au.
Mr Fisher works closely with the News Limited mastheads, Multi Channel Network (MCN) and related News Limited companies on key accounts to further develop strategies and provide advertisers with the most competitive advertising packages in the business.
Mr Fisher was previously group sales and business development manager with ninemsn. During his three year tenure at ninemsn he was instrumental in contributing to the first integrated offerings from PBL's stable of media businesses.

Mr Angelos Frangopoulos, CEO, Sky News
Angelos joined Sky News Australia, in July 1996, 5 months after the channel's inception.
After serving as Chief of Production, he was appointed Managing Editor in 2000 and then in 2004 to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Before joining the Australian News Channel, he worked at British Sky Broadcasting, the Nine Network and Prime Television Canberra.
He began his career in the media at Mid State Television Orange after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Mitchell College, Bathurst.
Prior to that he had been extensively involved in the early days of Community Radio in Sydney.
Sky News Australia is owned by Australian News Channel Pty Ltd - a joint venture of Publishing and Broadcasting Limited, Seven Network and British Sky Broadcasting.

Mr Ian Gardiner, Managing Director, Viocorp
Ian Gardiner is the Managing Director of Viocorp, Australia's leading internet broadcaster. Ian co-founded the company in 2002 and has successfully grown it into an established and profitable operation. Ian has been running successful technology start-ups for the last ten years. He was the founding employee of newsbase.com, a news, analysis and business intelligence service from emerging markets. He also founded and ran lastorders.com, an on-line off-license in the UK.

Tony Hale has a very successful career in advertising - both in Australia and abroad – winning international and domestic awards and earning him a prominent industry profile. He is experienced in establishing and building new businesses and generating profitable business growth. Tony also has first-hand experience of newspapers – their culture and relationship with advertisers and the wider industry.
Tony joins The Newspaper Works from Clemenger BBDO – Australia’s largest communications company - where he was Board Director. During his 5 years there, he was an integral part of Clemenger Sydney’s success – helping to deliver record profits and making it the single biggest profit contributor to the Clemenger Group (CCL), whilst taking home major awards for their work, including 2004 B&T Agency of the Year and the Ad News National Agency of the Year in 2004 and 2005.
Tony has been involved with the Advertising Federation of Australia Effectiveness Committee for over five years. This body promotes the effectiveness, and demonstrates the value of advertising, and return on investment to both agencies and marketing professionals. Tony is currently the Deputy Chairman of the AFA Effectiveness Awards.

Ben Heuston is the Digital Development Director of EMAP Australia running the online and mobile businesses with the brief to extend the reach of EMAP’s brands like FHM, ZOO and Tracks and evaluate new digital opportunities for the company.
Ben has an impressive track record of working in the media sector on new and emerging platforms. He joins EMAP Australia from Telstra, where he was Media Development Director, responsible for shaping the telco’s IPTV, Mobile TV and Foxtel strategies. Ms Patty Keegan, Director, Vanishing Point Media
Patty Keegan is Director of digital media consultancy Vanishing Point Media, and General Manager of the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Australia.
Her roles have included media strategist/planner/buyer; magazine marketing; and director of advertising operations on the launch of ZDNet and the AT&T Business Network in the U.S., to Vice President at Carat USA. She launched Carat Interactive Australia, which she grew and managed for four years as National Director. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Texas; was Judging Chairperson for the 2005 Internet Awards; and is Chair of the 2007 Awards.

Managing a team of 18 online journalists, Hugh is responsible for delivering high-quality and ground-breaking news to his audience, as well as ensuring NEWS.com.au provides an exciting and informative online experience.
One of Australia’s most experienced journalists, both in online and print, Hugh brings a passion for new media and the exciting opportunities it offers.
Working on the online area since the mid 90s, Hugh considers himself lucky to have been involved with this new medium from early on.

Hugh has also been a journalism lecturer at RMIT University.

Ms Tracie Michael, Managing Director, Mindshare
Tracie Michael started her career 20 years ago at McCann Erickson. She also worked at DDB and Ogilvy & Mather before becoming part of the original MindShare Australia team.
Tracie, who has a Masters in Marketing from MGSM, has worked across a variety of clients in the pharmaceutical, finance, fmcg and retail sectors.
Prior to her appointment as managing director of the Sydney office in 2004, Tracie was ATG director for five years and negotiations director for three. Her experience with ATG in modelling and ROI provides her with a expert perspective on the measurement and accountability of media investment.

Mark has been in the media industry for 17 years. He started his career at AIS Media in Brisbane and in Sydney, before joining Universal McCann to head the Coca-Cola account. Mark returned to his native Brisbane 3 years ago and has managed Starcom Brisbane's rise to be Queensland's leading media agency.

Mr Samuel is Chairman of the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.
Mr Samuel’s professional career commenced as a Partner of the law firm Phillips Fox & Masel from 1972 to 1980. He then became Executive Director of Hill Samuel Australia Limited and subsequently Macquarie Bank Limited from 1981 to 1986 and co-founder of Grant Samuel & Associates in 1988.

Ian Smith was appointed chief executive officer of Yahoo!7 in June 2006. In this role Ian is charged with leading a media company that provides Australians who visit www.yahoo7.com.au with the best online entertainment, information and communications experience, and advertisers with the greatest value.
Prior to joining Yahoo!7, Ian was chief executive officer of The Communications Group Limited, which owns 13 advertising, marketing, technology and communications companies in Australia and New Zealand.
Ian was also president of international for Bates Worldwide where he worked from New York and grew revenue in Asia and Europe by more than US$800 million in the first two years.

Mr David Spence, CEO, Unwired
David Spence is CEO of wireless broadband provider Unwired Australia. Since joining Unwired in January of 2004 David has grown the company from a handful of employees to one of the worlds largest Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS) portable wireless broadband carriers, servicing in excess of 40,000 customers in the greater Sydney region.
David is well known in the internet/communications industry both in Australia and New Zealand. His breadth of experience, management style and vision for the future has seen him rise to the top of his profession.
Prior to Unwired David held various executive and board positions at; Deloittes, Faber-Castell, Australian Consolidated Press (ACP), Freedom Furniture, OzEmail, UUNET Australia, OPSM, Vertical Markets, Access 1, Emitch and WebCentral.

Stuart is the Director of Asia-Pacific for Akamai Technologies Inc (NASDAQ: AKAM), the leading global service provider for accelerating content and business processes online. More than 1,800 organizations have formed trusted relationships with Akamai, improving their revenue and reducing costs by maximizing the performance of their online businesses.
Stuart leads Akamai’s Asia-Pacific operations, headquartered in Singapore and responsible for sales, account management, technical and professional services. Mr Adrian Swift, Director of Television, etv UK
Adrian heads up etv’s creative team as well as overseeing key Digital TV, broadband and mobile projects, including Thomas Cook TV, Eat Cinema, advertiser funded programmes for ITV and five as well as Thomas Cook Broadband and 3’s mobile TV services.
He began his media career as a newspaper journalist before becoming one of Australia’s top executive producers for major lifestyle and sporting programmes. While at Channel Nine, Adrian was the founding producer of Australia’s number one travel programme “Getaway”. Under his stewardship, the programme won many awards and was sold to 14 countries, gaining an international audience of over 100 million.
As well as producing several international outside broadcasts, including the Australian Grand Prix, Adrian launched Australia’s first commercial television website – a site which ultimately became NineMSN Expedia in Australia. After working on the Nine Network-Microsoft joint venture in Australia, Adrian moved to London to work for leading British factual producer Endemol as Executive Producer on programmes for Channel 4 and Channel 5.
Before joining etv, Adrian was Head of Digital Interactive Development for Mirror Television, where he was responsible for developing advanced interactive formats and broadband solutions for new digital channels and platforms.
