Masterclass objectives
This workshop provides an overview of various ticketing technologies that are evolving in different markets. It also describes technologies used for cash collection, and the benefits of integrating e-ticketing with integrated revenue accounting in both direct distribution and intermediary distribution models. It shows how modern technology can help to flexibly bridge the gap between rigorous “no-frills / direct distribution only”, “some frills”, and “full service airline models” without sacrificing significant operating cost advantages.

About your leaders
Ralf Cabos is the Managing Director of Lufthansa Systems Asia Pacific, based in Singapore. Since June 2005, he holds the additional role of Managing Director of Lufthansa Systems Indonesia in Jakarta. Before that, he held the position of Managing Director of Products and Operations of Lido GmbH from January 1998 to 2003, and of Lido AeroNet in Singapore. From 1991 to 1997 he was tasked with the conception and implementation of an integrated Flight Preparation and Dispatch solution at Lufthansa German Airlines.
Prior to his professional career within Lufthansa Group, Ralf Cabos was under contract as a project leader for various cockpit display systems at VDO Avionics in Frankfurt, Germany. Before that he worked as an avionics engineer at MBB in Ottobrunn, Germany. During his employment with MBB he also held a position as team leader of systems engineering at British Aerospace in Warton, UK, designing parts of the Avionics system of the Typhoon Aircraft.
Mark Patrick is Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing MasterCard Gateway Services, MasterCard International Asia/Pacific. Based at the company’s regional headquarters in Singapore, he is responsible for the development and delivery of technology solutions to service the business needs of MasterCard’s members in the AP region.
Mr Patrick joined MasterCard in June 1998, initially providing operational consulting to MasterCard member banks. Subsequent positions held within MasterCard include Regional VP, Acceptance Development in which he was responsible for working with member banks to enhance their Acquiring business and develop new acceptance channels for MasterCard products and VP, Interactive Services with responsibility for MasterCard's regional Internet related activities.
Prior to joining MasterCard, Mr Patrick was with VeriFone Inc, the leading global provider of secure electronic payment solutions for financial institutions, merchants and consumers, where he held regional director positions for sales and business development.
He has been involved in the payments industry for over 15 years.
