Adam Adhitya Suherman is Adam Air’s President Director. Adam Air is Indonesia’s first boutique airline offering unique services at great value. Adam Air was founded in 2002 by Mr Agung Laksono, a well-known Indonesian businessman and politician, and Mrs Sandra Ang. The airline commenced operation on December 19, 2003 with a Boeing 737-400 and a 737-500 flying from its base in Jakarta to 3 domestic routes, namely Medan, Denpasar and Jogjakarta.
As of today, Adam Air operates 15 aircrafts and 3 more Boeing 737-400 due to arrive within this year. It serves 17 domestic destinations and 1 international route. Starting October 28, 2005, the airline will fly to Singapore three times a day. As part of future expansion, Adam Air will strengthen its position both in domestic especially eastern part of Indonesia and regional such as Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Perth in Australia.

Andrew Herdman joined the Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) as Director General in November 2004. In this capacity he is committed to expanding the role of the Association as the leading trade organization for international airlines based in the Asia-Pacific region; voicing the concerns of member airlines and other industry stakeholders on matters of common interests; and promoting the growth of international civil aviation.
Prior to joining the AAPA, Andrew held a number of senior positions with the Swire Group, the parent company of Cathay Pacific Airways, with other diverse interests in aviation, property, beverages, marine services, trading and industrial sectors, predominantly based in the Greater China region. Most recently, as Director Corporate Affairs for Swire Pacific, Andrew was a director of the parent company responsible for internal and external corporate communications, investor relations, crisis management, community, social and government affairs for the conglomerate.
Between 1994 and 1995, he was Managing Director of Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Company Ltd (HAECO), and Chairman of Xiamen-based TAECO, providing aircraft maintenance services. From 1991 to 1993, he was Cathay Pacific’s General Manager Cargo, responsible for the airline’s cargo activities worldwide. Between 1988 and 1991, he was the founder Director and General Manager of ABACUS, the leading computerised travel reservations system for the Asia-Pacific region, and a board member of systems partner Worldspan.
Association of Asia Pacific Airlines (AAPA) The AAPA is a grouping of 17 scheduled international airlines based in the Asia-Pacific region. It is the trade association of the region’s airlines, created to represent their interests and to provide a forum for all members to exchange information and views on matters of common concern. The AAPA permanent secretariat is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with international representation in Brussels and Washington, D.C. Collectively, AAPA member airlines carry approximately one-fifth of global passenger traffic and one-third of global cargo traffic, and thus play a critically important role in the ongoing development of global aviation.

Mr Ajay Singh is a Bachelor of Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and a Master in Business Administration from Cornell University. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Delhi.
He has served the Government of India in various capacities including Director of the Delhi Transport Corporation and Consultant to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Recently, he was also the advisor to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Ajay’s experience in the private sector ranges from SpaceAge Internet Limited where he was the CEO to Cranes Software International Limited (a company listed on BSE), where he is a Director advising them on strategic issues.

 Alan Joyce Chief Executive Officer Jetstar Airways |
Alan Joyce was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Jetstar in October 2003. Alan has more than 16 years’ experience in the airline industry, principally in fleet and network planning and business improvement. Most recently he worked for Qantas Airways as Group General Manager Network, responsible for Network Strategy, Network Analysis, Schedules Planning and Schedules Variation.
Prior to his role at Qantas, he worked at Ansett Airlines in a variety of roles including Vice President / General Manager Network and Schedules Planning and Route Development Manager. As Vice President at Ansett, Alan oversaw Network Planning, Schedules Planning, Fleet Planning, Demand Forecasting and Route Economics. Alan spent nine years at Aer Lingus working in a variety of roles that covered network planning, business improvements and fleet planning. He also played a key role in devising Aer Lingus’ low cost strategy. Alan holds a Master of Science degree from Trinity College, Dublin.

Andrew Pyne is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Macau Eagle Aviation Services Limited. Until 2004, Andrew was General Manager, International Affairs and Alliances for Cathay Pacific Airways, one of Asia's most successful airlines.
At Cathay, Andrew was responsible for traffic and over-flight rights negotiations, government affairs and management of Cathay's commercial/ alliance relationships with other airlines, in particular with other One World alliance airlines.
From 1983 to 1995, Andrew served with the Hong Kong Government, where he was Chief Air Services Negotiator and spearheaded aviation policy liberalization. He was also instrumental in helping form telecommunications policy reform for Hong Kong in the early-90s. Andrew worked with British Airways in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe from 1979 to 1983. Andrew holds a Master of Business Administration from Henley Business School (UK).

Virgin Blue co-founder Brett Godfrey 41 conceptualised and implemented his airline plan five years ago, permanently changing domestic aviation ‘down under’ when he brought Australia a new concept in air travel – high quality low cost travel delivered with unmistakable Virgin flair.
Virgin Blue won the hearts of leisure travellers when in August 2000 they launched with 2 aircraft, 200 staff and a mission to provide consistently affordable travel on an airline offering outstanding customer service.

With over 28 years experience as a pilot in both Military and Commercial aviation George Duncan was well placed to start his own aviation training company in 1998. As founder and CEO of ‘The Human Factor Training and Development Ltd’, he and his team have established a company that has a world-wide reputation for excellence and quality in aviation training. He has worked tirelessly over the last 10 years designing and delivering programmes aimed specifically at reducing Human Error in Aviation. The prime focus of his efforts has been ‘Save Lives, Save Aircraft, Save Money’.
George has helped many aviation organisations to implement robust, effective Human Factors strategies, which have resulted in those respective companies making significant improvements in safety, and, as a result, huge savings in the often unseen costs associated with repair of systems and equipment. He has worked on the UK standing committee for Human Factors and is a UK CAA Crew Resource Management Instructor Examiner. He has been a key note speaker at many international aviation events and has forged many strategic training partnerships from Norway through to the Middle east. Author of ‘The Skills of Leadership and Interpersonal Effectiveness’, he holds a Masters Degree in Human Factors in Aviation.

Hideyuki Kanenari joined Japan Airlines in 1971, starting from the Airport Traffic Division, and was promoted to Manager at the International Relations Department in 1982. He had a short 3-year stint at the JFK Airport taking care of administration. Hideyuki have well-rounded experience having worked in the international relations, administration, public relations, corporate planning, strategic research and even marketing strategy divisions.

After graduating from Warwick University in Coventry, Jehangir Wadia went through a rota of training in The Bombay Dyeing & Mfg. Co. Ltd., Bombay from 1993 to 1997. From 1998 to 2001, he founded The Incubation Corporation which was set up to invest in start-up companies both in India and the US, and had investors ranging from Ratan Tata to Rupert Murdoch, to name a few. He also conceptualized and helped in the implementation of Tatanova an internet service provider and horizontal website, now fully owned by the Tata Group.
At this time he also authored and began restructuring the Wadia Group. Part of the restructuring involved looking at new financial and strategic investments for the group. One such financial investment was a JV with The Port Singapore Authority (PSA), and another example is GoAir a low cost airline in India, starting operations in October 2005. The strategic Investments have been in the financial services, retail and real estate arena. He has co-founded a Real Estate and Retail Fund along with other retail/real estate operating JV’s and has also initiated the institutionalization of financial services in the Wadia Group.

John Chan is the Executive Director of CAM – Macau International Airport Company Limited, having joined the Airport in June 2003. His current responsibilities include marketing, promotion and development of the Airport. John started his career in the aviation, travel and tourism industry in 1989 with Abacus International, a major Global Distribution Systems provider in the Asia Pacific region. He was involved in strategic planning, distribution and marketing activities in the organization, resulting in a 2-year posting to South Korea with the responsibility to set up the company’s national marketing company in Seoul.
In 1993, he joined Asiana Airlines, based in Seoul, contributing in the area of improving the fledgling Korean flag carrier’s global distribution network.

Since completing his PhD in Transportation and Civil Engineering from University of Maryland (US), Kim Yeon Myung has been a Director and Research Fellow at the Department of Aviation Research, The Korea Transport Institute. He is also a Consulting Fellow of the Airport Planning Committee of Ministry of Construction and Transportation.
His major research projects include “Establishing Guidelines on Aviation Demand Forecasting 2003”, “Improvement Plan for Airway Congestions 2003”, “Enhancement of Air Service with the Opening of High-Speed Railroad 2002”, “CFIT and Runway Incursion Problem and Its Advanced Plan for Avoidance 2002”, “A Study of Developing Algorithm for Airport Gate Assignment 2002” and “Fundamental Study on Korean Aviation Policy 2001”. Mr Takahashi is Deputy Director of Planning and Research Division, Civil Aviation Bureau (CAB), Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MLIT), Government of Japan. He joined Ministry of Transport in 1992, which was re-organised as MLIT in 2001, and has broad and extensive experience in policy areas in air transport, road transport and urban development.
Currently he is in charge of aviation policy ranging from airport development planning and financing to strategic issues in both domestic and international air transport. Mr Takahashi holds Bachelor of Law from University of Tokyo (1992) and Master of Science in Regional and Urban and Planning Studies from London School of Economics (LSE) (2003).

Patee Sarasin is the Chief Executive Officer of Nok Air, the truly Thai low cost airline. He launched his advertising career with Lintas from 1983-1986 as a Research Manager, then took a 2 year break to complete his masters degree, followed by 2 years with NBC. Returning to Thailand in 1989, he joined SPA Advertising as Creative Director and a member of the Management Committee. In 1991 he became General Manager of Multi Media Orbit, a production house of SPA.
In 1992 SPA Advertising joined with Bates Worldwide to form Bates Advertising Thailand and appointed Patee as Managing Director and later CEO. Under Patee’s management, Bates Thailand became the fastest growing advertising agency in Thailand. Patee’s most outstanding achievement was the creation of DTAC and its launch into the market. In early 2004 Patee assumed the title of Chairman at Bates, relinquishing day to day to responsibilities.
The son of His Majesty the King of Thailand’s Principle Private Secretary H.E. Arsa and M.R. Sudjitkul Sarasin, Patee is single and is a consultant to the Thailand Squash Team. He is an active squash player in the Thailand squash tournament circuit, is keen on music and extremely IT literate.

Paul is the China head of transportation and asset finance. He has extensive experience in asset financing and leasing transactions, with a particular emphasis on aviation and rolling stock financing.
His recent experience includes advising low cost carriers in Asia in relation to their acquisition, leasing and financing of aircraft. He also acts for lessors/lessees/financiers on JOLs (Japanese Operating Leases), other taxed based leasing, sale and leaseback transactions, ECA backed financing and operating leases. Paul's practice also covers airline and other transportation related company debt and corporate restructurings.
Paul was previously a senior member of the firm’s asset finance group in London before relocating to Shanghai/Hong Kong. He is qualified as an attorney in the State of New York, as a solicitor in England, as a barrister-at-law in England and Wales and also as an advocate and solicitor in the Republic of Singapore.

Peter de Jong, President and CEO of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), is responsible for providing visionary leadership for the Association and overseeing the delivery of commercially-relevant services to enhance the growth, value and quality of Asia Pacific travel and tourism for the benefit of PATA members. He is based at PATA head office in Bangkok.
Prior to joining PATA in November 2001, Peter served for 10 years as the Director General of the Federation of International Youth Travel Organisations (FIYTO). Under his leadership, FIYTO experienced a decade of unparalleled growth of its membership, its global recognition and its financial resources.
Before joining FIYTO in 1991, Peter worked for four years as an organisational development consultant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Prior to that, he served 11 years as the Secretary General of The Experiment in International Living, a US-based international citizen exchange organisation that specialises in language and educational travel, intercultural studies and academic exchanges.
Founded in 1951, PATA is the recognised authority on Asia Pacific travel and tourism. The Association provides marketing, research and educational opportunities to a membership of nearly 100 government, state and city tourism bodies, over 55 airlines and cruise lines, and hundreds of travel industry companies. In addition, thousands of travel professionals belong to dozens of PATA Chapters worldwide.

Peter established the Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation, the region’s leading specialist aviation consultancy and research practice, in 1990. Over the past 15 years he has been involved in a wide range of consulting assignments, focused in the Asia Pacific region. These include airport and airline privatisation, passenger and freight airport marketing, advice to governments and governmental organisations on policy, bilateral and multilateral issues, airline startup business planning, traffic forecasting and airline management education.
Peter worked with IATA in Geneva for 10 years and was until recently, Chairman of IATA’s World Aviation Regulatory Monitor Group. Peter is the immediate past President of the Aviation Law Association of Australia and New Zealand.
He is Managing Director of a tourism development company and sits on a number of industry committees providing advice on tourism and aviation policy. He is a law graduate of London and Melbourne Universities, with an LLM from McGill University’s Institute of Air and Space Law.

Peter Morris is Chief Economist heading Airclaims’s International Transport and Tourism Consultancy group in London and Montreal, which carries out a wide range of independent research, forecasting and consultancy for air transport and tourism clients. Prior to this he was Chief Economist and Director, Research Consultancy for the International Air Transport Association (ATA).
Peter was responsible over the last decade for developing IATA’s Aviation Information & Research department as a leading global commercial supplier of air transport information and research. Services offered to a range of industry clients include short and long term forecasting, customer satisfaction monitors, pricing research, new product potential analysis, a wide range of industry traffic, capacity, revenue and cost databases, international strategic/economic studies and performance benchmarking. The client list includes airports, airlines, manufacturers, governments, regional authorities, suppliers and financial institutions. In addition he is a regular speaker at a wide range of international industry conferences and in the media on current and future airline industry trends, and the impact of new market developments.
Prior to joining IATA in 1989, he managed economic and market research within an international transport consultancy, and before that worked as a Senior Commercial Analyst and Pricing Specialist for the UK Electricity Supply Industry.

Ralf Cabos was named Managing Director of Products and Operations of Lido GmbH in January 1998. In August 2000, he took up the additional assignment of Managing Director of Lido AeroNet in Singapore. Since 2003, he is the Managing Director of Lufthansa Systems Asia Pacific based in Singapore and since June 2005, he has also been assigned as CEO of Lufthansa Systems Indonesia (based in Jakarta). Prior to his professional career within Lufthansa Group, Ralf Cabos was under contract as a project leader for various cockpit display systems at VDO Avionics in Frankfurt, Germany. Before that he worked as an avionics engineer at MBB in Ottobrunn, Germany. During his employment with MBB he also held a position as team leader of systems engineering at British Aerospace in Warton, UK, designing parts of the Avionics system of the Typhoon Aircraft.

Mr Taylor has had more than a decade of extensive experience at chief executive level, including as Secretary, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries & Forestry – Australia (2000 - 2004), leadership of three Departments for the State Government of Victoria (Agriculture, Energy & Minerals, and Natural Resource & Environment) (1992 – 2000) and Chief Executive of the Australian Dairy Industry Council (1990 – 1992).
He is also a member of an extensive range of boards, including the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal, the Australian Logistics Council, the Trade Policy Advisory Council, the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), the Crawford Fund and President of the Institute of Public Administration Australia (ACT Branch). He is a fellow of both the Australian Institute of Administration, and the Institute of Public Administration of Australia (Vic).
Mike has been involved in work at State, Commonwealth and an international level across a wide range of management, primary industry, water, environmental and sustainable natural resource management issues.
Recently he has played a major national leadership role in improved border/quarantine arrangements to protect Australia from pests and diseases, the development of the National Food Industry Strategy and the establishment and implementation of the National Action Plan for Dryland Salinity and Water Quality and the National Water Initiative.
Mike is also Chair of the Commonwealth/State Standing Committee on Transport, and Chair of the Commonwealth/State Standing Committee on Regional Development.

Dr Sone started his career as steel industry engineer and worked at liaison office in Europe (Duesseldorf/Germany, 4 years) and later to US (Houston/Texas, total 8 years) to promote international activities of the company such as technical exchange or local operation.
He started to work for City of Kitakyushu/Japan 2001, to support the new airport project utilising his experience in international business coordination and communication. New Kitakyushu Airport is to inaugurate March 16th 2006, with unprecedented quick start as regional airport in Japan like 21 hours operation a day, plenty of daily scheduled flights to Tokyo and Nagoya as well as several scheduled international air routes to Asia.
Dr Sone holds a Bachelor of Engineering from Tokyo University, and Ph. D. from University of Kitakyushu.

Born in London in 1951, Stuart was brought up in both England and Scotland attending schools in both Twickenham and Kilmarnock and Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh
He started his career in the aircraft industry in 1973 in the Future Projects Group at Hawker Siddeley Aviation, a founder company of what is now BAE Systems, at Hatfield in the UK working on many projects including what was to become the Airbus Industrie A310.
He was seconded to the Airbus Future Projects department in Toulouse, France in early 1979 where he worked on both advanced propulsion concepts and the projects that became the A330 and A340. He subsequently made the move to Airbus Marketing and is currently Director Product Marketing for the very successful A320 Family.
He enjoys aircraft, talking and travel and amongst other duties, is paid to travel and talk about what he considers to be the best family of aircraft in the world.

Tan Lye Teck is the Senior Director (Airport Management) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). He currently oversees the management and functions of the Airport Management Division, Commercial Division, Development & Engineering Division and Air Cargo Division in CAAS.
Lye Teck holds an aeronautical engineering degree from the Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC), Toulouse, France, and a Master's degree in management studies from Stanford University, USA.

Tony Davis was appointed to his current position in January 2005. Tony provides battle-tested and focused leadership to Tiger Airways to enable it to expand its reach in the increasingly competitive Southeast Asian travel market.
Tony brings to Tiger Airways 18 years of airline experience including as founding Managing Director of bmibaby, the successful British low fares carrier, where he led the development of the airline from business plan to a fleet of 14 aircrafts serving 26 destinations in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Continental Europe.
During his service with bmibaby from January 2002 to December 2004, Tony was exposed to the low fares airline sector where he was involved in designing and growing a new generation airline in the very competitive Western European market. He has also developed significant experience and expertise in airline strategy, operations, marketing, government and industry affairs.
Tony was part of the founding development team and has served as Managing Director of bmibaby since the airline’s inaugural flight in 2002. Besides the low fares airline sector, Tony has broad experience in designing and leading airline strategy, airline operations, marketing and revenue management, and in representing airlines before government and regulatory agencies, in the United Kingdom, the United States and overseas.

Tony Marks is the British born CEO for Pacific Blue, Virgin Blue’s international airline subsidiary. After graduating from Harvard University with honours he commenced a colourful career which included managing a rock and roll band, and marketing roles in fast moving consumer goods in England, Venezuela and New Zealand.
Tony joined the airline industry with Air New Zealand in 1989 as global GM of Sales and Marketing overseeing sales performance and marketing strategy in Australia, New Zealand, the USA, UK/Europe and Asia/Japan. During the 1990s he inaugurated new routes on Air New Zealand’s network including Taiwan, Korea, Japan and the USA. He successfully campaigned for and introduced ‘Airpoints’ Air New Zealand’s first frequent flyer programme and was the architect of the airline’s alliances strategy including Air New Zealand’s STAR Alliance membership.
After 8-9 years with New Zealand’s national carrier Tony was wooed away from aviation to the agricultural sector for four years as CEO of Zespri before rejoining the airline industry in Nelson as CEO of Origin Pacific Airways.
In November 2003 he joined the Virgin Blue team as the first CEO of Pacific Blue Airlines, with a charter to start Virgin Blue’s own international carrier.
Pacific Blue launched in January 2004 and now flies trans-Tasman and to Fiji, Vanuatu, the Cook Islands and Tonga. Tony’s brief also includes Polynesian Blue, the new joint venture airline of Virgin Blue and the Samoan Government.

Udom is the CEO and Managing Director of Orient Thai Airlines. In 2001, the Thai government finally deregulated the domestic aviation market to allow private carrier to operate freely. Orient Express Air was then converted to Orient Thai Airlines, and Udom founded Thailand’s first low-cost airline “One-Two-Go by Orient Thai Airways” offering affordable and safe domestic air services and opening up new travelling opportunities to many Thais who has never flown before. Today, One-Two-Go is the new choice of Thai public and has become the first low cost carrier operator of Thailand.

Warwick Brady was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in 2005. Prior to his appointment, Brady has spent the last three years with Ryanair, one of the most successful low cost carriers based in Europe.
Warwick Brady, a South African by birth, was the Deputy Director Operations of Ryanair with overall responsibility of Stansted Airport and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Buzz. Brady started his professional carrier with Britannia Airways as a pilot where he became interested in management work within the operations department early on, which led him to obtaining his diploma and an MBA in Airline management.
Post his MBA at Henley Management College, UK, he worked with Gurbee Corporation setting up a plant at Poland. His ‘love for aviation’ was stronger – tugging him back into the aviation industry. He was particularly interested in the low cost boom and joined Michael O’Leary as the Head of Operations of UK and Europe operations in 2002 and later moved ahead to become the Deputy Director of Operations.

Yasushi Muto founded Star Flyer in 2002, at the 100th anniversary of Wright Flyer’s first flight, and now is its Executive Director responsible for planning, finance and external relations. Star Flyer is preparing for its launch in March 2006 as a 4th new start up airline based in Kitakyushu but has a unique business plan by 3 new A320s equipped with world widest economy class real leather seats.
Prior to joining Star Flyer, Muto has worked for ANA for 23 years mainly in charge of corporate planning, purchasing and human resource management of mechanics. During his career in ANA, he has gathered experience in fleet planning, aircraft lease, corporate strategy and marketing which is now a management base of Star Flyer.
