Lorenz is currently heading the Hedge Fund Investment department at Bank Sarasin & Co. Ltd. He studied economics with a focus on finance and marketing at the University of Zurich. Worked for several years as a business consultant and project management specialist at Holcim Group and gained experience in institutional investment consulting at Credit Suisse. Has worked in Alternative Investments at Bank Sarasin & Cie AG since 2001. Until 2005 he was the deputy to the Head of Hedge Funds and Senior Client Advisor for Hedge Funds, responsible for operational product management and investor relations. Hans-Jörg Baumann graduated from the University of Zurich in 1985 with a Master in Business Administration and is a Swiss national. Mr. Baumann joined Union Bank of Switzerland Zurich in 1985 as a capital market and derivatives specialist. In 1991 he moved to UBS Geneva as Head of the Stock Exchange Department. In 1993 he returned to UBS Zurich to assume the role of Head of Trading and Sales Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange. In 1996 his role was expanded to Head of Trading and Sales Switzerland including equity, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities. He was a Member of the Board of the Swiss Stock Exchange. In 1998 he left UBS Zurich to co-found Swiss Capital Group and Swiss Capital Alternative Investments AG.

Giovanni Beliossi is Managing Partner at FGS Capital LLP, where he is the CEO and is responsible for portfolio management. Previously he was Associate Director of hedge funds at First Quadrant Ltd, where he set up and was the portfolio manager of its Pan European long/short equity market neutral portfolios, and was responsible for UK-based hedge fund business. He has extensive experience of managing equity market neutral portfolios since 1995, when he joined the firm. Mr Eric de Sangues graduated as an ingénieur (engineer) from the “Ecole des Mines” in Nancy, France.
In 1998, he began working as a trader for ABC Arbitrage, a French entity specialising in proprietary trading, where he was in charge of developing equity arbitrage strategies on the European and American markets. One year later, he was appointed head of the trading department and was responsible for the management of ABC Arbitrage global portfolio.

Prior to joining SG, Laurent created the French operation of the Centre Group in Paris (a subsidiary of Zurich Financial Services, specialized in ART and innovative and highly customized structured (re)insurance solutions) where he served as Managing Director. Daniel Ghirardi is responsible for institutional sales in Switzerland. Daniel joined Pioneer Investments in January 2003, to start the Swiss operation in Geneva. Prior to joining he was Director of Business Development at Harcourt Investment Consulting AG, a specialised hedge fund boutique in Zurich. During his career, Daniel gained an international working experience while working at SBC Warburg in Hong Kong, before moving back to Zurich to join Prudential-Bache.

Eric Syz began his career in 1977 with SG Warburg, where he worked in asset management and merchant banking. He continued in this field for four years with Paine Webber, in New York. He then joined Lombard Odier & Cie where he dedicated himself to institutional asset management. While there, he launched the group's merchant banking company and created a new department responsible for the engineering and promotion of the group's products, in particular investment funds. He also created a hedge fund analysis department dedicated to hedge funds, a type of assets he had been handling since the 1980s. He left Lombard Odier in 1995 to set up Banque SYZ & CO with Alfredo Piacentini and Paolo Luban. He is the general manager of Banque SYZ & CO.

Indira C. Tasan, born in 1960 in Bangkok, is journalist and publisher of the swiss hedge funds newsletter BANCOhedge, as well as editor-in-chief of the swiss financial magazine BANCO. After finishing her studies in Chinese and Russian at the Universities of Lausanne and Geneva, she started her carrier at a specialized publishing firm in Lausanne, where she later took the head of the banking and financial publications department.
In 1995, she founded – together with a partner – her own company in Lausanne (Switzerland), Forward SA, where she launched the french version of BANCO in 1996. A year later she launched the german version of BANCO and, in 2004, BANCOhedge in french and german versions.

Mr Armin Vogel, Managing Partner, Primores AG, Switzerland
Mr. Armin Vogel, born in 1971, is Swiss citizen. He co-founded Primores AG in 2003. Mr. Vogel is involved in every step of the investment process. His focus is on the qualitative and quantitative analysis. In his function he’s a member of Primores Investment Committee, which is responsible for the investment decisions.
Prior to forming Primores, Mr. Vogel was Managing Director and Co-Founder of Fund Research Partner in Zurich. At Fund Research Partner he was responsible for the Due Diligence of Fund of Hedge Funds.
Before that he was Partner and Chief Risk Officer at Adam Currency Trading, Zurich, which run Hedge Fund currency strategies. As CRO his main responsibility was the risk measurement and management of the executed strategies.
Mr. Vogel's initial exposure to the Hedge Fund universe dates back several years when he was appointed as Portfolio Manager for the Winterthur Insurance Hedge Fund portfolio. Winterthur Insurance is part of Credit Suisse Group and one of the first Institutional Investor into Hedge Funds. Mr. Vogel was responsible for the Hedge Fund investments within the Alternative Investment Department. He worked closely together with RMF, one of the biggest Fund of Hedge Funds advisor, meanwhile part of MAN Group, of which Winterthur was a shareholder. Mr. Vogel holds a Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Zurich where he wrote a thesis on option pricing.
