Procurement outsourcing - Is it worthwhile in your organisation?

To provide an overview of procurement outsourcing for purchasing executives to understand the requirements of outsourcing, as well as being aware of the disadvantages and traps that occur when outsourcing the procurement function. Delegates will walk away with tools to evaluate the in-house vs. outsourcing option, evaluate outsource providers prior to engagement (due diligence), and techniques for measuring post-contract performance.

About Your Masterclass Leader
Stephanie McKern, Director, The Australian Logistics Academy, Singapore, has over twelve years experience in the areas of manufacturing and distribution, the most recent of which has been concentrated in the area of technology. She has extensive experience in Australia, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong in the training of personnel, implementation of systems and solutions and management of Logistics facilities. Work experience originated in the area of Purchasing and Inventory Management and later evolved to Quality Management and ISO9000. This later expanded to include the design, set-up and operations of multi-user Hubs. Currently a member of the Logistics Association of Australia, a member of the Materials Handling & Management Society, and has completed Masters with the University of Wollongong. Currently lecturing regionally at Diploma and Masters levels, specialising in the area of Logistics Technology, Supply Chain Management, Process Re-engineering, International Business and purchasing & inventory management.

A mechanical engineering graduate from the College of Engineering Pune with 30 years experience in procurement, warehouse management, distribution, production planning, inventory control , customs and excise. The experience is in India and abroad in a variety of industries engineering, heavy engineering, contracting , consumer, consumer durables , electronics For the last 13 years in Hewlett-Packard in various capacities as Country Customs Manager, India , Customer Support Finance & Admin Manager and for the last 7.5 years as the Asia Pacific head of customs operations. Operated from India in this role for the last 4.5 years and last 2.5 years in the regional head office at Singapore Have actively participated in the WCO Technical Committee on Customs Valuation at Brussels and also in various forums in India on Customs and Trade facilitation.

About Your Masterclass Leader
Alan G Waller is the Visiting Professor in International Supply Chain Management at Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Cranfield School of Management. He is also President of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and is also Chairman of the European Logistics Users Providers and Enablers Group (ELUPEG). Following a number of years in production line management and management services, Alan moved into management consultancy and has spent over 25 years working on logistics and supply chain consultancy assignments with manufacturers, retailers and logistics service providers over a wide range of industries. Alan was Senior Logistics Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and retired from the partnership in January 2002, having set up and Directed the Milton Keynes Office, led the Global Logistics Consultancy Practice, established and Directed Global Manufacturing Industry Consulting over 34 Countries and having Directed Supply Chain Consulting for the EMEA Region. He also set up and directed the Cranfield Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management. In 1998 he was awarded the Sir Robert Lawrence Gold Medal for his contribution to logistics.

Aftersales strategy for boosting revenue and achieving customer satisfaction within the CPG industry

To provide and explore a framework that relates customer satisfaction with revenue-generating mechanisms, These mechanisms are founded on establishment of appropriate service level agreements. This framework will allow participants to do a health check of their own business after exploring the relevant concepts in this case study which focuses on a CPG example.

Alex Rozycki has recently joined Spotless as the General Manager of Business and Institutional Services after many years with Whirlpool. He managed the Service and Aftersales business in the Oceania region. This role was a bridgehead to reinvigorate a mature US style market through the development of new streams of sustained long-term growth. Having an extensive background in service, asset management, engineering development, Alex has a notable record in developing and implementing continuous improvement and cultural change strategies to achieve worldclass benchmarks in organisations such as Ford, BTR-Nylex and Australia Post. A record of success in a range of industrial climates, primarily in service, inventory management and national product support. and involving strong team leadership with large labour forces of trades, contractors and engineering staff. This often involving extensive negotiations with trade unions, industry and regulatory bodies. Long time advocate and practitioner of risk management and safety through direct relationships with regulators, and project management of various plant with significant risk mitigation using methodologies. In depth knowledge of contemporary contract administration in a wide variety of multi-disciplined environments both in operations and project management.
