As Executive Chairman, Andrew Bud provides the strategic vision for mBlox's product development leveraging his deep industry expertise. Bud has a wealth of experience in the mobile industry and is widely recognized as an expert in the areas of mobile regulation and payments.
Prior to assuming the role of Executive Chairman, Bud was the CEO of London-based mBlox Ltd, which he co-founded in 1999 and led to profitability. From 1988 to 1996, Bud was head of mobile technology for Olivetti SpA in Italy. In 1994, while at Olivetti, he became the founding technical head of Omnitel (now Vodafone Italia). Between 1996 and 1999 he was a Director at Connect Communications Group, a leading European provider of corporate telecommunications services, and was a Group Marketing Director with Azlan plc, the £200m European distributor of internet technology. His earlier background was in mobile technology R&D.
Bud is an elected Board member of the global Mobile Entertainment Forum (MEF), which he helped found in 2001, for which he chairs the Regulatory Committee. He is a Chartered Engineer, with a degree from Cambridge University.

As Executive Vice-President of Southeast Asia and Mobile/Online, Cheok Yew oversees MTV Asia’s Southeast Asian operations, including its joint ventures in Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand, as well as the MTV Mobile/Online business across the whole of Asia.
A seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience in the media field, Mr. Lee was previously CEO of SPH Mediaworks, the broadcasting venture of Singapore media group Singapore Press Holdings. During his tenure there from 2000-2003, Mr. Lee launched two terrestrial TV channels – Channel U and Channel I, started up a TV content production and distribution joint venture in Hong Kong, and acquired a 50% stake in the radio company UnionWorks Pte Ltd in Singapore.
Prior to SPH, Mr. Lee spent nine years at MediaCorp Group, latest as Chief Operating Officer, leading the charge in the corporatization of Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1994, and setting up various ventures including notably two TV channels – a regional news channel (Channel NewsAsia) as well as a terrestrial sports channel (SportsCity). He also set up a movie company called Raintree Pictures producing Chinese and English feature films for the regional market. Previously, Mr. Lee held various other senior positions at Singapore Press Holdings, Singapore News & Publications, as well as IBM Singapore.

Graham Gordon is the General Manager of Wireless Consumer Data Services for Telstra's Technology Innovation & Products Group. His accountabilities include driving Telstra Mobile Data Revenue growth through implementation and development of innovative wireless data services such as picture messaging, mobile video, SMS and third party content solutions & services.
Recently, Graham played a key role in Telstra through the delivery of the i-mode service into the Australian marketplace. i-mode delivers high value to carriers, content providers and consumers through the creative use of technology.
With over 20 years in the communications and mobility industries, Graham has played a significant role in the wireless mobility area. His experience has provided him valuable knowledge in driving Telstra’s mobile data revenue growth through the implementation and development of innovative wireless data solutions. This includes the overseeing of content applications and services that are aimed at differentiating Telstra’s wireless data offerings, using an ethos of “simple - easier - faster”. His previous role in Telstra focused on corporate sourcing where he managed Telstra’s information technology contracts for both hardware and software.
Graham’s breadth of experience extends from military communications, weapons and sensors systems, through process and manufacturing systems to mobile network infrastructure, handsets and CPE, billing systems and value added service platforms and solutions. Prior to joining Telstra in 2001, Graham worked as a mobile data strategy consultant, working to numerous Telecommunications companies across the Asia Pacific. David Kainer is CTO and Co-Founder of the innovative mobile games development company Viva La Mobile and has been a long time advocate of mobile games and their place in the digital games industry.
David comes from a background in Computer Engineering and in 2000 worked in wireless Research and Development at Intergraph Australia. During his time with Intergraph's wireless division he developed a protoype vehicle tracking system for wireless devices using Java and GPRS. In 2002 David left Intergraph and created one of the the first polygon 3D engines for J2ME phones. This, combined with a passion for computer gaming, led to the co-founding of Viva La Mobile in early 2003.
In just under 2 years Viva La Mobile has become one of the premier mobile games development studios in Australia and is a world leader in 3G Multiplayer games. In 2004 Viva La Mobile developed and launched the RedStar platform for real-time fast paced multiplayer on 3G mobiles. The first title, "Badlands", launched with the 3 Australia network and has already gained a strong following. David and the entire Viva La Mobile team have a vision to create a global 3G gaming community, and with RedStar due to be launched with multiple 3G carriers over the coming months a true cross-carrier games experience should become a reality.
As CTO of Viva La Mobile, David has strived to keep abreast of the rapidly changing technology and business aspects of the mobile market. David was a panel member at the 'XMediaLabs 2004' and an exhibitor at the 2003 Australian Game Developers Conference in Melbourne.

Jawahar is responsible for Nokia’s initiatives on Visual Radio and Mobile Phone TV in Asia Pacific, creating new opportunities for mobile usage while interacting with traditional radio and TV broadcasts.
Most recently, Jawahar served as Director of Digital Services and Applications, Asia Pacific, and as Head of Service Development for the Imaging Business Unit in Nokia Mobile Phones, Asia Pacific.
Throughout his 10 years in the mobile communications, Jawahar has had different roles within Nokia Mobile Phones, including Mobile Services Creation, Product Management, Marketing and Business Development. Additionally, his tenure in distribution/sales and product management with Hutchison, India, has given him a wellrounded experience on the telecommunications domain also from a mobile operator’s
perspective.
A master at creating engaging mobile experiences, Jawahar also has several service innovations and a few patents for Nokia to his credit. An engineer by training, Jawahar holds an MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune, India.

Ben joined Vodafone in 2003 from his role as Marketing Manager for Warner Music Australia, working on the marketing and promotion of Warner Music artists to media, retail and consumers via new media channels.
Ben graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1997 with a Bachelor of Commerce with a Marketing and Economics double major.
Outside of work, Ben’s passions include his fiancé, family and friends; an “obsessive” love for music; and spending as much time as possible in New York.

Grahame Maher started his current role in September 2001. Since then, Vodafone Australia
has undergone some significant changes…. reducing capital spending by over 60%,
operating costs by 40% and staff numbers from 3,200 to 1,700. Overall, the company has
refocussed and become clear about its direction, strategy, values and brand – the end result
being a greatly improved EBITDA, with the Australian business generating cash returns to its
shareholders for the first time in its history.
Prior to this role, Grahame was Managing Director of Vodafone New Zealand, where he
grew the business from 17% marketshare to 46% and the customer base from 120,000 to
1.1 million over a three-year period. Vodafone’s brand recognition in New Zealand rose from
2% to 98% during this time and the operation was one of the most profitable within the
Vodafone Group.
He rates the power that can be unleashed in people who are empowered within a valuesbased
organisation as a key learning from his experience in these roles.
Grahame has been involved with Vodafone for ten years, initially as a Service Provider
based in South Australia. Previous to this, he ran several businesses dealing in Office
Products and Communications.
When not working, Grahame likes to maintain his wife’s retail habits and sometimes see his
kids! He also enjoys some fitness training (mostly running), socialising and supporting some
non-profitable charitable organisations (giving back to the world).

Gregg was previously CEO of Lucent Technologies in the Philippines (1998-2002), and MD of Carrier Services for AT&T South Asia (1995-98). Prior to entering the telecoms industry, Gregg served eight years as a diplomat in the U.S. Foreign Service. Gregg holds a BA from Yale University in Philosophy and an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business.

Prior to Ovum, Rosalie was Technology Editor for CNBC Europe, focussing on the telecommunications and new media sectors. Her degree is in journalism, with 12 years experience as a business and economics journalist in newspapers, radio and television - including a stint as executive assistant to the Minister of Finance in her native New Zealand.

Internationally recognized as the man who brought virtual reality into the World Wide Web in 1994 with VRML, Mark Pesce has been exploring the frontiers of media, science and technology for over two decades. In September of 1998, Pesce received two-year appointment as Visiting Professor and Chair of the Interactive Media Program at the University of Southern California’s world-renowned School of Cinema-Television. His mandate – to bring cinema and broadcast television into the interactive era – led him to create a program that encourages creative vision, and is already producing a generation of entertainment professionals shaping the media of the 21st century. Early in 2004, the Australian Film Television and Radio School appointed Pesce as Lecturer in Interactive Media, and early in 2005 the master’s program in Interactive Media which he oversees admitted its first student. Later this year, Pesce’s sixth book will be published. hyperpeople explores the explosive superdistribution of digital media through file-sharing networks, which, when combined with the growing power of mobile digital social networks, will completely transform human communication.

Elmar entered the IT & T sector in 1996 when he took a start up systems integration company from zero to a profitable $3 million business within the space of two years.
After a one year tenure with an American IT services firm in a sales and marketing capacity Elmar joined the then recently established New Media Division of Australian Associated Press (AAP) and was subsequently appointed as its Business Manager.
During his four years with AAP Elmar gained a wealth of experience with content in the online and wireless space. From the early days of supplying SMS and WAP based news and information content to the major Australian Telcos to more recently, with AAP offering a wide range of mobile content in text, audio, image, data and video formats, Elmar drove and witnessed a rapid growth and evolution of mobile content.
Elmar joined Mobile Internet Group (MIG) in July 2004. MIG operates a wireless application services business, which provides network connectivity, mobile application development and content services. Customers for these services are primarily located in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and India.

Dan is the Head of Adult Entertainment for 3 mobile in Australia. For the last 3 and a half years, he has developed and driven 3’s Adult Entertainment strategy for Hutchison 3G Australia. The suite of high-revenue mobile products cover Chat, Dating and Age Restricted services - the latter of which is known as “Premier” and features leading mobile content from the likes of Playboy.
The highlight of Dan’s time with 3 (apart from attending Playboy’s 50th Anniversary Gala at the Mansion!) has been the development of Australia’s only commercially deployed Mobile Age Verification System - the PVS. This restricted access system allowed 3 to enter a commercially attractive category whilst, at the same time, meeting the expectations of shareholders, management and the community alike.
Prior to 3, Mr Rosen’s previous experience has been in the media and technology industries with roles spanning accounting, marketing and ecommerce for firms such as EMI Records, FOXTEL and OzEmail Internet.
Dan is an Associate of the National Institutes of Accountants and holds a Masters of Business (Marketing and eCommerce) from the University of Technology, Sydney.

Mr Jim Stewart,

Jim has been producing and distributing online audio and video content since 1997. His company Stew Art Media has produced over 200 live webcasts and been responsible for distributing thousands of digitally rights managed files. In 1999 he wrote and produced the world’s first online audio comedy series entitled The Netboat. It ran for 23 different episodes and averaged over 15,000 listeners per month from 22 different countries. Between 1998 and 2001 Jim produced a daily technology news show called IOB Coffee Break which had over 45,000 viewers per month worldwide. In 2000 he designed and commissioned Australia’s first DRM system for the Australian music industry. Working with Microsoft, undercover, BMG Music and EMI/Virgin, Jim gave many Australians their first experience with DRM. He also worked with S3 and BMG Music to make some Australian artists DRM tracks available on their Rio digital audio player. This was a first for Australian music.
In 2000-2001 Jim worked with the Asian institute for Broadcasting Development to train national broadcasters in the region in streaming media. He ran week-long workshops in Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Brunei, and Fiji. Prior to Stew Art Media, Jim was a technology commentator on ABC radio from 1997-2002 and has appeared on network 10’s The Panel and The Nine Network’s A Current Affair.

Matthew is the Managing Director for Mobile Services in Asia.
Prior to Mobile 365, Matthew was based out of Beijing as the CEO of MIG (Mobile Internet Group), a leading Wireless Application Service Provider and Co-Publisher based in Asia providing a white-labeled software infrastructure for the deployment and delivery of content, applications and services to mobile users through its international network of operators.
Matthew built the client base of MIG's mobilized customers to include major brands such as Sony Pictures, Disney, MSN, TV shows like “Who Wants to be a Millionaire” and “Big Brother”, as well as NBA All-Star Yao Ming.
Matthew grew MIG from 3 to over 40 people spanning Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, London, Sydney and the U.S. MIG is funded by Sun Microsystems and leading technology investors including Allen & Buckeridge (Australia), Network Asia (Hong Kong) and MINT (China).
