Lu Jinhua joins Motorola in 2001 as the Technical Support Manager of Government & Enterprise Mobility Solutions (GEMS) - a business division of Motorola that has been leading the industry in delivering mission critical communication solutions for first responders.
For the past four years, Lu has been involved in professional mobile radio (PMR), public access mobile radio (PAMR), and Government Radio Network and City emergency response system implementations for public safety agencies across China.
Lu has extensive working experience in product development, manufacturing, system engineering, engineering training, and business development of digital trunking systems for different markets applications.
Prior to joining Motorola, he worked for Guangzhou Communication Institute (GCI) of MII and was instrumental in developing the Digital trunked communication system standard for MII.
Lu enjoys writing and has contributed several papers on digital trunking for several publications. He also published a book on “Digital Trunking Radio System” in 2004 and a “TETRA Designer’s Guide” book in 2000.

Rhod Pickavance has worked within the wireless communications industry for twelve years, working predominantly within the field of digital PMR technologies. An electronics engineer by trade, over the last decade 12 years he has worked in the wireless communications industry, specialising in a wide range of commercial and specialist wireless solutions for international government agencies, public safety and national defence organisations.
A specialist in digital PMR products and their application for national security organisations, he has worked for a number of companies specialising in the supply of digital PMR products, including Tetra, Tetrapol and P25 for ‘mission critical’ applications. Prior to moving to New Zealand in order to take up the position as the companies Vice President of International Business Development, Rhod was employed by a number of national governmental organisations, providing them consultancy on a wide range of operational and technical matters relating to secure wireless communications technologies, and commercial off the shelf digital PMR technologies.
Rhod is married with 2 children, and currently resides in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Eric Sorensen is Intrado’s Director for International Market Development. Mr. Sorensen joined Intrado in 1994. He has held leadership positions in sales, marketing, product management, operations and technology planning during his tenure with Intrado. In his current role, he is responsible for the identification and development of international markets for Intrado’s safety and security offerings. A seasoned industry professional with more than 20 years of telecommunications experience focused on emergency communications systems, networks, and architectures, Mr. Sorensen participates in numerous telecommunications and public safety industry forums and associations. He supported the creation of industry standards to address emergency caller location for mobile networks. Prior to Intrado, Mr. Sorensen worked for Pacific Bell, the primary telephone company in California, in a number of marketing, sales, and management positions.

Chief Superintendent Mark Whybro is a 24-year veteran firefighter and for the last three years, Assistant Director Operational Communications for the New South Wales Fire Brigades. Based in Sydney Australia, this position has responsibility for the NSWFB’s four emergency call-taking and dispatch centres, including policy development, incident management support and management for CAD and operational communications for emergency users.
As well as being a career firefighter, Mark has extensive experience in emergency communications, having worked as a call-taker and dispatcher and a Supervisor of NSWFB’s largest Communication Centre. His involvement with CAD and communications continued with Y2K Project work for Operational Communications that saw the implementation of comprehensive business continuity and disaster recovery processes.
