Mr Prakash Bajpai, President, Reliance Infocomm, India
Mr Prakash C. Bajpai joined Reliance Infocomm as its President in April 2002. Reliance Infocomm is building a pan-India, high-capacity, integrated (Wireless and Broadband) and Convergent (Voice, Data and Video) Digital Network, to offer services spanning the entire Infocomm value chain – infrastructure, services for enterprises and individuals, applications and consulting. Since the successful mega launch phase of Mobile services in which Company acquired market leadership with over 7 million subscribers in barely seven months of time, Mr Bajpai is now driving the Broadband Business for the Enterprise and Consumer sectors with service offering ranging from end-to-end managed Voice & Data Networks to triple play services of Voice, Internet and Interactive Video services.
In his illustrious career spanning 25 years, Mr Bajpai has several accomplishments to his credit. An Electronics Engineer, he started his career with IBM and then moved on to Phillips, where he was involved in the launch of colour TV transmission in India. At Tata Telecom, his leadership and strategic thinking helped the company acquire market leadership position during its formative years. On his return to India in 1996, after his stint abroad with AT&T Network systems, Mr Bajpai spearheaded the Marketing, Sales & Network Planning activities in Tata Lucent Technology and won several prestigious and large telecom contracts. In Hughes Telecom, in the capacity as President & CEO, Mr Bajpai led the pioneering effort to build India’s first integrated broadband network in Maharashtra & Goa and successfully completed the IPO for over Rs 900 Crores, one of the largest and the first in the telecom sector in India.
Mr Bajpai has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Delhi and has graduated from a number of in-house management programs conducted by the AT&T School of Business Management including mini MBA in Financial management.

Bill Barney, CEO, Asia Netcom, Hong Kong
Bill Barney was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Asia Netcom in November 2005. Prior to that, Barney was President and Chief Operating Officer of the company, a position he has held since joining Asia Global Crossing in 2002.
During his period at Asia Netcom, Barney presided over the transformation of one of Asia’s first Chapter 11 casualties (AGC), into one of Asia’s leaders in IP and WAN services. Since Asia Netcom’s launch in 2003, the company has achieved industry-leading growth targets and was named "2007 Best Wholesale Carrier" by Telecom Asia. Under Barney's leadership, ANC was also awarded the International Engineering Consortium's prestigious InfoVision Award in 2006 & 2007, as well as “Data Communications Service Provider of the Year” recognition by Frost & Sullivan in 2005 & 2006.
Prior to ANC, Barney served as President of Asia Pacific at MCI WorldCom where he managed the industry’s fastest growing regional company through an industry leading three-digit growth phase. During Barney’s tenure at WorldCom and UUNET, the company received numerous accolades for its technological leadership in IP services while also being recognized twice as Asia’s Telecom Employer of the Year.
Prior to joining WorldCom, Barney was Vice President of Global One, where he managed operations in the Middle East, South Asia and Africa. Barney began his career with AT&T, where he held a number of key sales and management roles in the international division and domestic sales group.
Barney received his MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wesleyan University.

Before joining FLAG Telecom in June 1998, Owen Best was Vice President of Telstra Japan (1995-1998) and Regional Director for Telstra Korea (1994-1996). He has over 22 years experience in the telecommunications industry, and has worked extensively in the Asia Pacific region in various senior engineering and operational positions with Telecom Australia, Telecom Australia International, OTC, and Telstra.

Before joining NVP, Vab served Qwest as vice president of emerging technologies, a group he founded. In that position, he was responsible for identifying new networking technologies. He also fostered strategic relationships with start-up companies such as Qtera, Corvis, Sonus Networks, Redback Networks, Siara Systems, Juniper Networks, and Extreme Networks. Prior to joining Qwest, Vab worked at Sprint, where he was a principal architect for the Sprint Internet backbone and contributed to the company’s IP and optical network strategy. Andrew Grenville, Vice President, International Networks & Wholesale, Starhub, Singapore
As Vice President of International - Network & Wholesale, Andrew Grenville is responsible for managing and developing StarHub’s international voice and data network including relationships with other carriers, as well as running StarHub’s wholesale sales channel.
Andrew Grenville has been at the forefront of the telecommunications industry for 20 years. Prior to other senior roles in StarHub, he was CEO for StarHub Crossing, responsible for establishing and operating the company in Singapore. Before this, Andrew was Alliance Director for StarHub (British Telecom’s Singapore venture). In this role, he was responsible for managing the overall relationship between BT and StarHub at the management and shareholder levels.
Andrew’s career with British Telecom (BT) spanned close to 10 years. In the early 90s, he held a post in Global Finance and played a major sales role in BT’s initial years in London. His responsibilities included managing relationships with major clients and developing new revenue streams from existing accounts.
Thereafter, Andrew held various senior appointments in BT Logistics, including running BT’s heavy lorry fleet in UK, before moving on to head the Services Procurement unit in 1997. In this role, he managed BT’s spend of 1.5bn pounds, reducing the whole of life costs in the supply chain by adopting a collaborative approach with customers. Andrew was then appointed Head of Sales and Marketing for BT UK Business Services, where he led the start-up of a new business in BT Supply Chain Solutions.
Andrew holds an Honours degree in Electrical Engineering from Sheffield University. He started his career designing electronic hardware and software at GEC Telecoms, before taking up a sales role with Racal.

With more than 16 years of experience in the telecom industry, Kwan's experience ranges from software development and integrated circuit design to product development, network planning and operations. Kwan joined the company from WorldCom Asia Pacific, where he was the Director of Operations responsible for overall operational efficiencies such as MTTR, on-time delivery and operations cost. He also led the implementation of ISO 9000 and cross-departmental processes for quality assurance at WorldCom. Kwan has also held various management positions with Global One, Lucent Technologies, Motorola and Nortel. Since 1999, Kwan has served as an advisory committee member to OFTA in Hong Kong.
Kwan has an MS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, where he also received his undergraduate degree in the same discipline.

Anne LeBoutillier joined T Soja and Associates, Inc. (TSA) as Director, Asia-Pacific in December, 2000. Ms. LeBoutillier has an extensive background in the telecommunications industry, with a strong focus on the Asia-Pacific telecommunications marketplace and the global undersea fiber optics market.
As Director, Asia-Pacific, Ms. LeBoutillier manages all of TSA sales, marketing, research and analysis activities for the Asia Pacific market which includes telecom service providers, infrastructure developers, equipment manufacturers, banks and financial institutions.
Ms. LeBoutillier is a frequent guest on CNBC News, providing commentary and analysis on subjects such as market demand and corporate activities in the Asia Pacific region, and global telecom markets. She speaks frequently at regional and global telecommunications conferences and also provides commentary to numerous telecom publications for which she continues to be a source of insight into telecommunications demand requirements, market and financial analysis, telecom networks, and the undersea fiberoptics marketplace. Prior to joining TSA, Ms. LeBoutillier held management positions in business development, strategic marketing, and product management with AT&T International Operations Group, AT&T Submarine Systems, Inc., AT&T Labs, and Tyco Submarine Systems, Ltd. Upon opening Tyco's Singapore regional office in 1998, Ms. LeBoutillier directed business development and marketing efforts for Tyco Submarine Systems Ltd. throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Calvin Lee is responsible for T-Systems’ carriers’ carriers business, International Carriers Sales & Solutions (ICSS), for the Asia Pacifc & Middle East region. Mr Lee joined the Deutsche Telekom group in Singapore 1997. Since then he has steered the growth of the business, and increased local presences in the region with set-up of sales offices in Singapore, Japan and Hong Kong. Under his lead, sales has quadrupled. Prior to joining the Deutsche Telekom group, Mr. Lee was with Corporate Access, where he was involved in international VSAT service satellite communication for enterprise and carriers in the South and South East Asia regions. Mr Lee started his career in sales with IBM Singapore for IBM’s Global Services.
Mr. Lee earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and obtained an Honours Degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering from the National University of Singapore.

Jian is well known within the Internet community as one of its top technology experts. His background includes developing leading-edge IP networks and services at Qwest, Sprint and GlobalOne (a joint venture between Sprint, Deutsche Telekom and France Telecom). At Virtela, Jian is responsible for the company's innovative IP-based network architecture and advanced customer network design services. He ensures that customer technology requirements are met and identifies new and emerging technologies for the company's service portfolio.
Before joining Virtela, Jian was responsible for IP engineering and emerging technologies at Qwest, where he founded the IP architecture team and led the design of the first OC-48 and OC-192 nationwide IP backbones. Previously, Jian was a principal architect of Sprint's IP service backbone. He also designed and built GlobalOne's international IP service backbone. He was also a major contributor to the design and deployment of the first commercial Internet network in China, sponsored by China Telecom in 1994.

Ms Eva Lindqvist, President, TeliaSonera International Carrier, Sweden
Eva Lindqvist, President of TeliaSonera International Carrier, has held a long line of positions within the telecom industry.
Eva was previously employed by the Ericsson Group, where for 18 years she held leading positions in Japan, Australia and the US. Back in Sweden in 1998, Eva was nominated R & D Director for Corporate Technology at Ericsson.
After a year as Managing Partner at Sandberg & Trygg B2B advertising agency, Eva joined Telia in 2000 as Senior Vice President and project leader for broadening the ownership of companies in the Enterprises Business Area. The following year she was appointed Head of the Equity Business Area and became a member of Telia’s Group Management.
Early in 2002, Eva left Equity for Telia Mobile where she was assigned Senior Vice President with special responsibility for all staff units and overall strategic business development. In September 2002 Eva Lindqvist was appointed President of Telia International Carrier. Presently, Eva is responsible for all international carrier activities within the TeliaSonera Group and President of TeliaSonera International Carrier.
Eva Lindqvist was born in 1958 and holds a Master of Science, Engineering degree, in Applied Physics from Linköping Institute of Technology, Sweden, and a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Graduate School of Management, Melbourne University, Australia. TeliaSonera International Carrier, fully-owned by the TeliaSonera Group, provides wholesale, capacity and IP services to network and service providers. The services are based on the wholly-owned European and trans-Atlantic fibre network, and the IP network with peering points in Europe and in the US. The international voice business is focused on international interconnect agreements and bilateral routes.

Stefano Mazzitelli was born in Rome, Italy, in 1960. Holds a Law Degree from the University of Rome and an M.B.A. from Boston University.In 1988 he joined AT&T Italia in Rome, and in 1991 was appointed Director of Marketing. He later moved to AT&T’s International Headquarters in Morristown, NJ (USA), where he was Associate Director of AT&T Global Strategy. Promoted Director, Strategy of AT&T EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), he was responsible for market entry strategies in Europe, and the development of AT&T’s offer in the region.
In 1996 he joined Olivetti/Infostrada, as VP Marketing and Business Development. In this position he was in charge of the company’s strategies for long distance services, fixed/mobile services integration, and regulatory issues and strategies. He also managed market analysis, definition of market segments and targets, offer development, and was responsible for the company’s strategic marketing planning.In 1997 he joined Sprint International as Executive Director, EMEA, based in Rome.In 2002 he joined Telecom Italia as President, International Services Division. Following the spin-off of the Division, on January 1st, 2003 he was appointed to his current position of Chief Executive Officer, Telecom Italia Sparkle.

Mr Simon Naylor, Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Sonus Networks, USA
As Vice President, Asia Pacific and Japan, Simon Naylor is responsible for the company’s sales, marketing and business operations throughout the entire Asia Pacific region, including Japan. In this role, Mr Naylor is focused on generating a greater awareness of Sonus Networks and the advantages of class-leading voice over IP (VoIP) solutions throughout the region. He is also responsible for forging strategic partnerships with industry-leading telecommunications providers, while building a network of resellers and channel partners.
Mr Naylor brings more than thirteen years experience in the Asia Pacific region to his position at Sonus. Prior to joining Sonus in 2000, Mr Naylor was Vice President, Asia Pacific for RSA Security, where he was responsible for the company’s operations throughout the region. With Mr Naylor at the helm, RSA Security Asia Pacific’s revenues quadrupled in the three years since 1997 when Mr Naylor was running the company. The company’s distribution channels also grew from 16 partners in six countries in 1997, to 65 partners in thirteen countries in 2000. In addition, new offices were set up in Kuala Lumpur, Beijing, Sydney, and an R&D centre was also set up in Brisbane.
Mr Naylor began his career in Asia in 1989 with Case/Dowty Communications, ending his tenure there in 1992 as General Manager (GM) for Asia Pacific. In 1992, he joined ITS (now named Equant) as General Manager, South Asia and was later promoted to Sales Director, Asia Pacific, in addition to the South Asia GM role. In 1995, Mr. Naylor was further promoted to Managing Director, Asia Pacific, for ITS, a post he held until his departure from the company in October 1997. While at ITS, Mr Naylor was instrumental in ITS meeting its revenue targets every year, with revenues quadrupling from US$20 million to US$80 million and with 400 staff in 11 countries across Asia Pacific.
Mr Naylor holds a BA in Economics from the University of Manchester, UK.

Before taking up her current position in 2002, Claire was Executive Vice-President of International Networks, responsible for developing France Telecom’s wholesale business in markets all over the world.
Claire joined France Telecom in 1984 and has been involved in the management of networks, services and video planning as well as finance, planning and information systems. She was also responsible for setting up a unified organization of multicultural teams in 2000 following the France Telecom Group’s acquisition of Global One (later to become Equant, the world leader in the corporate services market).
Previously she worked as IT project manager, then as research manager on radar and as an oil trading market analyst.
Claire is a graduate of the French National School of Telecommunications and the Ecole des Mines, Paris. She also holds a research degree in Mathematics from the Ecole Normale Superieur, Paris.

Mr Ian Pulford, President & Representative Director, BT Japan Corporation, Japan
Ian Pulford leads the BT Global Service regional wholesale operation in Asia Pacific and MEAF addressing the needs of carriers, licensed operators, service providers and mobile operators. His responsibilities include leveraging BT’s global infrastructure, offering a full spectrum of services through to solutions to support customers’ international requirements.
Ian has over 25 years of experience in the telecoms industry. In 1987, he moved to BT (CBP) Limited, a specialist company in the finance sector supplying and manufacturing dealing room equipment. Based in London, he was responsible for the support of the Asia Pacific region. Extensive travel to the region led to a two-year term in Hong Kong, followed by a further term based in Tokyo. In the latter post, he moved into Japan Telecom’s Network Information Service to lead the Corporate Sales division. On his return to the UK in 2000, Ian rejoined BT, initially playing a part in the emerging Broadband wholesale environment, then moving to Carrier Services where he led the European sales team on behalf of mobile and ISP customers. Ian spent 11 years with the Army reserves as a radio technician and physical training instructor, with involvement in the recruitment and training of early candidates. He has recently completed an MBA programme with Temple University, Japan, attaining the Dean’s award for excellence. Married, with three young daughters, his other interests extend to golf, squash, swimming, marathon running, cricket, soccer and rugby.

Dick began his career in the information technology sector, spending 10 years with IBM, three with Toshiba and a decade with Unisys. Gareth Williams joined Interoute in February 2002 as Vice President Sales & Marketing. He was promoted to President of Global Markets in July 2002 and is responsible for all of Interoute's Sales activities and country operations. Gareths early career was spent in product management, marketing and pricing before moving toward more strategic roles setting up sales and business development teams in Europe, the USA and Asia.
