Mr John Cronin, CEO, Azure
John joined Azure in April 2002 as CEO. He has set the company’s strategic and commercial direction and overseen the company’s spin out from BT in spring 2003.
John has more than 25 years experience in the telecommunications industry in international, European and domestic telecommunications markets. He has an entrepreneurial skill set, which is complemented with corporate management experience and an in-depth understanding of key indicators. John is an accomplished and recognised business leader and investor in the telecoms industry and has built several companies as well as leading divisions in larger corporate organisations. His career includes senior roles in NetSource Europe, Kast Telecom, Teleglobe, Mercury Communications and BT. Within these roles, John has also been responsible for mergers & acquisitions across Europe and has been instrumental in raising equity, senior department facility and vendor financing funding.
As group chief executive of NetSource Europe, John lead a dual strategy to prepare NetSource for either an IPO or structured sale, growing revenues to more than $100m, which resulted in the successful sale of the company to GTS in 1998 for more than $300m. Prior to joining NetSource, John was managing director of Teleglobe for the UK and Ireland achieving significant results including key strategic alliances and partnerships.
John joined Brightstar, BTexact Technologies corporate incubator in Sep 2001 and was part of the senior management team of two companies in incubation: Qariba and Evolved Networks. John’s role was to drive these companies through their initial development and growth stage.

Mr Anders Igel, CEO, TeliaSonera
Anders Igel was appointed President and CEO of the Swedish telecom operator Telia on July 1, 2002. Since the merger between Telia and the Finnish telecom operator Sonera in December 2002 he is President and CEO of TeliaSonera.
Prior to joining Telia, Anders Igel was President and CEO of Esselte. He also has a twenty-year career with Ericsson behind him, holding a wide variety of executive positions within the group, such as overall business responsible for the Middle East, South-East Asia and Latin America, Managing Director of Ericsson Ltd. in the UK, head of the Public Networks and Infocom Systems business areas and Executive Vice President of the Ericsson Group.
Anders Igel holds a Master of Engineering degree from the Stockholm Royal Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Eva Lindqvist, President of TeliaSonera International Carrier, has held a long line of positions within the telecom industry.
Eva was previously employed by the Ericsson Group, where for 18 years she held leading positions in Japan, Australia and the US. Back in Sweden in 1998, Eva was nominated R & D Director for Corporate Technology at Ericsson.
After a year as Managing Partner at Sandberg & Trygg B2B advertising agency, Eva joined Telia in 2000 as Senior Vice President and project leader for broadening the ownership of companies in the Enterprises Business Area. The following year she was appointed Head of the Equity Business Area and became a member of Telia’s Group Management.
Early in 2002, Eva left Equity for Telia Mobile where she was assigned Senior Vice President with special responsibility for all staff units and overall strategic business development. In September 2002 Eva Lindqvist was appointed President of Telia International Carrier. Presently, Eva is responsible for all international carrier activities within the TeliaSonera Group and President of TeliaSonera International Carrier.
Eva Lindqvist was born in 1958 and holds a Master of Science, Engineering degree, in Applied Physics from Linköping Institute of Technology, Sweden, and a Master of Business Administration from Melbourne Graduate School of Management, Melbourne University, Australia. TeliaSonera International Carrier, fully-owned by the TeliaSonera Group, provides wholesale, capacity and IP services to network and service providers. The services are based on the wholly-owned European and trans-Atlantic fibre network, and the IP network with peering points in Europe and in the US. The international voice business is focused on international interconnect agreements and bilateral routes.

Michael Mandahl (1964), Venture Partner. After studies and a few years of research in computer science at the University of Umeå he spent time with IBM in the automotive industry. Boenk van Marle is CEO of Linxtelecom with headquarters in the Netherlands, network operations centre in Tallin (Est.) and subsidiaries in Russia, the 3 Baltic countries, Poland, Finland and Sweden. Linxtelecom is a data and IP service provider to Operators, ISP’s and End users and operates a network spanning 8000km with PoP’s in Moscow, Helsinki, Tallin (NOC), Riga, Vilnius, Warsaw and Frankfurt.
Boenk’s experience in telecommunications began as a Sr.Vice President Customer Care in the joint venture between Unisource (which was owned by Telia, KPN and Swisscom) and ATT Corp. Subsequently Boenk was CEO of Unisource NV an European operators with operations in nearly all European countries with a Europe wide network and active in Voice, Data and Satellite.
Prior to this Boenk had over a period of 25 years managing director positions in subsidiaries of large multinationals such as ITT corp and Aerojet Int. Corp. which were all active in the high-tech process control business.

Among other positions, he has previously worked as a business management consulting partner at PwC Consulting and as an management consultant at Mecrastor Oy/Mecrastor Coopers & Lybrand Oy for seven years. Mr Alan Whelan, Managing Director, Carrier Services, Cable & Wireless
Alan has over twenty years of experience in both the information technology and telecommunications sectors, during which time he has been engaged in businesses in varying disciplines, from software and hardware to managed and professional services. His expertise has been built via positions in both customer services and sales, with senior executive responsibilities in both functions. He has managed teams across a range of vertical and geographic markets. His responsibilities have involved him both in the management of acquisition activity, and of setting up and operating collaborative ventures. He has lived and worked in different countries and has experience in managing global teams in serving both national and multi-national clients.
Alan is at present a member of the senior management team of Cable & Wireless, and has responsibility for the company’s business with Service Providers. He joined in September 2004 from AT&T, where he was Vice President of AT&T Global Service Provider Markets.
He was previously Vice President - Europe, Middle East and Africa of the Global Markets division of Concert, a company jointly owned by AT&T and BT, having initially worked as one of the leaders of the team established by the two shareholders to set up the new venture.
Alan joined Concert from BT, where he held various business management positions in BT's Global Sales and Service division, having had responsibility for serving global technology sector customers.
Alan has attended business schools in Lancaster & Henley (UK), McGill (Montreal), The Indian Institute of Management (Bangalore), Hitotsubashi (Tokyo) and INSEAD (Fontainebleau). His qualifications include a Diploma in International Management from INSEAD, and a Masters Degree in Management from McGill Business School, for which he majored on distribution channels.
Prior to joining BT, Alan's career was in the IT industry, primarily with ICL, a Fujitsu company. He joined the company as a graduate trainee, and grew through various service and sales leadership responsibilities. He became the sales manager of one of the UK industry sales units, was sales development manager for ICL Europe, and was ultimately responsible for managing a systems integration and outsourcing business unit.
Alan is married with three children, and lives in Marlow, United Kingdom.

Mr Tom White, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Communications Solutions Group, Agilent Technologies
Thomas (Tom) White is senior vice president and general manager for Agilent Technologies' Communications Solutions Group. White's responsibilities include manufacturing, marketing and support of the telecom and datacom product lines for the group. Communications Solutions has leading positions in several global markets for communications test and monitoring systems such as SS7 network monitoring, fiber-optic testing, transmission technologies for telephony networks and lightwave testing.
White's experience in electrical engineering began in Hewlett-Packard Company's London offices, where he started as a staff engineer in the Test and Measurement sales office in 1979. Since then, White has held numerous managerial positions in the Telecommunications Division throughout the United Kingdom. In 1994, he was promoted to general manager of the Queensferry Telecommunications Division in Scotland and then general manager of the Computer Peripherals Bristol Division in 1996. White was appointed vice president and general manager of the Communications Solutions Group in 1997. White has served as Agilent's senior vice president and general manager, Communications Solutions since August 1999.
White, who was born in 1957 in Newark, Nottinghamshire, England, received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Liverpool University.

Mr Antanas Zabulis, CEO, Omnitel
Antanas Zabulis (M.Sc.), UAB Omnitel President and CEO, was born in 1962, graduated from Vilnius University, faculty of Physics, completed studies at the School of Business in Lithuania and BOSSARD University in Paris. From 1991 to 1994 worked as a Consultant/Senior Consultant for BOSSARD CONSULTANTS (present Gemini consulting).
Before entering mobile communications, Antanas Zabulis worked in the oil industry for six years, starting as Managing Director in Lithuania for Norwegian oil company Statoil, later as Expansion Director Statoil Baltic States and Country Manager for Statoil in Lithuania. Under his management, Statoil has become the leading oil products supplier in Lithuania and in the Baltic States. From 1999, Antanas Zabulis was invited to Statoil Head Office in Stavanger (Norway), where he spent two years on the international assignment as Senior Adviser in Oil Trading and Supply Department.
Starting from October 2000, Antanas Zabulis is President and CEO of UAB Omnitel, the leading telecommunications operator in Lithuania and the leading wireless communications company in the Baltic States.Antanas Zabulis participated and made speeches at the leading IT and telecommunications events, as World Bank Knowledge Economy Forum, 2003 (Helsinki), European ministerial Conference on Information Society, 2003 (Ljubljana), GPRS Congress, 2002 (Rome), CEE Mobile Congress, 2002 (Budapest), Silicon Valley, 2003 (San Francisco), WITFOR2003 (Vilnius), GSM Europe 26th Plenary Meeting 2004 (Vilnius) and many others.

Guy Zibi is Director of Pyramid’s Communications Media and Technology (CMT) group. Guy has overseen consulting and advisory assignments in the fixed and mobile industries worldwide, focusing on new business models and emerging markets. Prior to his position as Director of Pyramid’s CMT team, Guy held a position as Director of Pyramid’s EMEA Research Services.
